The Federal Republic of Marmadania is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by The Federal Council with a fair hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls, digital currency, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 944 million Marmadanians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The relatively small, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Industry, Defense, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Maestrale. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 14.4%.

The frighteningly efficient Marmadanian economy, worth 121 trillion Marmadanian Valyrs a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Retail, and Book Publishing. Average income is an impressive 128,294 Marmadanian Valyrs, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 397,970 per year while the poor average 31,843, a ratio of 12.5 to 1.

The streets are increasingly clogged with poverty-stricken beggars, Marmadania's first free elections in recent memory have been successfully concluded, every new building project has to undergo a five-year environmental impact study before it can go ahead, and the only thing that can pin down a "superhero" is red tape. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Marmadania's national animal is the White-Headed Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Marmadania is ranked 64,502nd in the world and 1,371st in the South Pacific for Most Advanced Public Education, scoring 3,402.2 on the Edu-tellignce® Test Score.
