Last time I saw a poll asking the number of nations, there was at least one nation with >200. Overall I remember the average to be higher but maybe it is only that I had lesser nations back then. :P

Currently there are 23'020 WA nations but a total 154,343 nations. Of course not every player joins the WA but hopefully not too many players have more than one WA nation.

Watchers in the Water refounded an ex-region of Parhe called Penglai which had well above 3000 puppets:

History
This nation does not claim to know the history of Penglai or why it was founded, but this nation does know that for a while Penglai was among the top ten regions in the world in Population. This region is also notable in that it was entirely composed of puppet nations, of over three thousand two hundred and seventy nine (3279), excluding the Founder (to this nation's knowledge).

In lieu of any solid history pertaining to the region, this factbook will chronicle the more notable, mechanical aspects of the region before it Ceased to Exist on August 17th, 2018. The vast population of the region was removed around July 25th, 2018, about twenty-four days ago; in the meantime, a few nations remained to preserve the region before CTE.

Okay, I shall attempt to curb my enthusiasm, but some Regions deserve a second chance. Speaking from experience, the worst that can happen from multiple rejections is that I am banned.

I agree with you that having 1000 embassies doesn't make a region worse than a region with 5 carefully selected embassies. Personally I prefer 1000. But it is really up to every region to decide how to handle it, and offering them embassies once is definitely enough. I'm even sure that by now more than 70% of 'relevant' players have seen our region and know if they are interested or not. You are totally right that regions with older/nations might have the wisdom and experience to contribute here nicely but they are also the guys who won't change their mind within less than a year or more. It might even kill our(!) 'second chance' in the future if we keep on bugging them now.

That multiple embassy requests really annoy many players can be derived from the fact that The Stalker suggestion to defend regional happening against them was that well received, and even led to the improvement of some game functionalities, supported by embassy collectors. (damn, can't find the link to the forum thread).

So again, I'm so happy to have you in the team Unindicted coconspirator but let's go with the very simple embassy guideline:
Only maximum one informal request per region ever.

Preferably for more established regions even only the formal way directly but I leave this up to you. But it is funny how the only formal attempt in The Cuckoos Egg failed that miserably, haha, right? : )

This nation makes its perspective very clear. It's really interesting. I mean I learn from this post. And it makes me think that the missunderstanding around Embassy Collectors orignate actually in a generation problem.

I also learnt that tagging of nations, is something that some players dislike, too. I seriously didn't know that. Tagging means mentioning them on the RMB in a way they get notified using this [nation]-code (ie. Like this: Unindicted coconspirator). I thought it is the way to go, in case I want to notify a player that a post refers to him/her. I thought it is less intrusive than a telegram, or moving over to the region's RMB where the nation is located. However, it is perceived as BadSpam and n000bs, what ever that means. Very likely nothing good.

That's why I quickly recruit for the Hell here and now in order to compensate for tagging Stalker a second and last time:
Hell is a good place to be! More so Underworld.

I hear and obey, Oh Wise Founder. But I have to confess that on occasion, the haughty, arrogant, and elitist Regions have frequently received multiple embassy requests from me in the past.

Furthermore, I find it ironic the one of the suggestions from The Cuckoos Egg was to maintain a puppet nation there before sending an invitation, when in fact, I do maintain a puppet in that region. I any case, I shall accede to your request.

Ya, I thought so too. An experienced player told me so once. And now I remember they said also the number of logins and maybe if a nation is in vacation mode or not, counts into the influence equation. While that still doesn't seem to match with what I oberve.
