URA update: The Alliance is currently sitting at 19 regions! The Governing Council is working on passing some election laws. Once they are passed and we get one more region to join we will be holding Alliance elections for the leadership roles in the Alliance.

Candidate gathering for the January Elections has begun and will last until Jan 24th after which no new candidates will be allowed. If you want to run please post in this channel the position you are running for. I would suggest creating a campaign dispatch for each position that you are running for that outlines your goals and why you should be elected. The election will take place on Jan 25th.

I am currently the Minister of Interior for The Free Nations Region, Minister of Foreign Affairs in South Pacific and also the founder of Kappa Region I’m also ambassador to several regions. I also help maintain and modify some of the URA dispatches.

As Head of Security I will help moderate the discord server, and ensure that voting members are compliant with the Articles of Formation and all Decrees and Laws passed. Along with processing any inactive regions for removal from the alliance. I will also maintain my activity and ensure all questions that are asked are answered.

The year is 2065. Tech has advanced more slowly than many expected, but progress has still occurred. Things once though impossible like space elevators and planetary colonies have been built and developed. As we enter this age we start in a time of peace and equality, but it always surprises how fast things change.
Our story takes place on the planet known as Ebecc, which orbits around the star Solaris. Several other planets orbit around this sun, such as Duna, Eve and Moho. A few small colonies have been established on Eve, with several countries holding parts of it. Colonization efforts are still under way on Duna. Several alliances of nations hold control of Space elevators, which grants those groups easier access to space. The planet of Ebecc has two main large continents, and a abundance of small islands in between. The 2 main continents are simply named East and West Atera.
However this new age of technology and has brought a new age of weapons and strife. Long distance weaponry has eliminated some of the technical aspects of war and new advanced tanks, guns, and planes can be devastating. The threat of orbital weapons lies on the horizon. The first nation to develop these would have a massive advantage... but for how long?. Different countries compete to dominant, while internally they are plagued by ideological battles. The question on everyone’s mind is which country will use this technology to their advantage the best.

United Regions Alliance Articles of Formation
This document is to lay out the formation of the United Regions Alliance. This hereby forms the Alliance of regions so that together regions herein will have a stronger voice in the World Assembly.
Purpose: The formation of this Alliance is meant to further the agenda of small and medium-size regions that currently do not have a large voice in matters of proposing and passage of World Assembly resolutions. This Alliance will give that to these regions.
Members: To become a member of the Alliance the region's founder or body of government must pass this document and present to the founder of the alliance Ellenburg to gain admittance to the alliance. Regions must maintain an active World Assembly delegate to become and continue as a member of this alliance.
Responsibilities of member regions: Each region's World Assembly Delegate must agree to vote in the World Assembly based on the final vote of this alliance. This will further the cause of giving the regions in the alliance a larger voting Bloc in the World Assembly. The member region needs to join the 
discord server. They can send over either there Delegate of the region or an ambassador. This person will get the vote for the region in all votes cast within on either votes that are current in the World Assembly or vote on proposed resolutions proposed by member regions.
(Region will get a certain number of votes based on the World Assembly Nation Voter Act.
Agenda items for voting: All member regions have the right to cast a vote for each Resolution that is up for current vote in the World Assembly. Once all the votes are tallied a final recommendation on how the alliance will vote will be revealed.
All member regions have the right to propose resolutions for consideration by the Alliance if passed by the Alliance the proposal can then be submitted to the World Assembly to start the process of getting voted on by the full World Assembly. If a proposed resolution is passed by the Alliance all regions in the Alliance will endorse the proposed resolution to help it get to full vote.
Governing Council : Once the Alliance gets to 20 regions, a Governing Council will be elected with the exception of the Founder of the Alliance. The roles of the Governing Council will be as follow.
Alliance Founder : Permanent position on the governing board. If the Founder chooses to step down, he can appoint a new Founder to take his spot on the Governing Council.
President : The president of the alliance will be elected every 6 months. There is a term limit of 2 elected terms for this position. The president of the Alliance will review proposed resolutions proposed by member regions and bring them up for a vote on the floor of the alliance for vote. They along with the founder will be tasked with verifying final vote count.
Vice President : Vice president will be elected every 6 months. A term limit of 2 elected terms for this position. The Vice President will serve as assistant to the president and founder. He would fill in for the president in the event of absence. The president can also delegate tasks to the Vice President as they see fit.
Head of Recruitment : This position will be created so that we are actively attempting to add new Member regions to the Alliance. This position will be elected by the members of the alliance for a term of 6 months. This position has a term limit of 2 terms.
Head of Security : This position will be elected every year. The Head of Security will have the duty of overseeing the URA Discord Server and ensuring compliance by voting members of the URA.
Enforcer : Similar to the Head of Security the Enforcer has the same duties and authority however the elections for Enforcer happen at the opposite time of the year when the Head of Security is elected.
Election Voting : In the election each voting member's representative vote will count as one vote for the person they would like to see in the said position.
By-Elections : In the event a government official steps down and or is inactive for over one month then a snap election will be held to replace said official. If officials want to avoid a snap election and must step down for a short period of time then they may choose an acting official to act on there behalf until there return and or the end of there term.
This article of Formation can be altered via vote of the member regions with a ¾ majority vote. Addendums and additional resolutions to this can be added.
