In lagene, we have a monument dedicated to the freed slaves that founded the country. It is called the Shounsta Monument and is located near rissatort, the capitol. Over 10,000 people visit the statue a day and it is where the important holiday Escape day is held each year, and the streets are littered with flowers, as people pay their respects to these important figures. The monument is a tall spire with scenes engraved onto the sides, depicting important events in this part of lagene's history.
