Do you think that new capital city they're building is going to be beneficial to the citizens? I think it will just lead to more inequality in Egyptian society, so that the rich and elite live in one city and the rest have to stay in Cairo.

Sadly yes I don't believe the new capital will benefit the average egyptian citizen and that it may be harder for the poor to live or shop in the new district 😓

I would concur, the war ravaged the entire country and deprived it of valueable oppurtunities to rediscover and assert itself on so many levels that things basically stagnated. Narrowminded petty nationalisms, neoliberal mismanagement, and political ineptitude ugh...Dayton....wreeks

This is what happened in Pakistan, when Islamabad was made in the 60s; it was flooded by government workers and army workers. Now, the city has developed into a haven for the rich and famous. However, some parts of the city are home to the poorer class, but they are isolated from the real Islamabad; you could say that they're hidden away. Now with a lot of foreign investment coming in, it has become a facade for foreigners and visitors, but the true Pakistan lies in historic cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar etc. I personally live here and it is a great place to live IF you can afford it but for the working class it is quite distressing and hectic.

like how the indonesian government will move to kalimantan but the poor in Jakarta will be left to fend for themselves against the sea ..

Oh, right. Jakarta is sinking. So that's a whole issue on its own for the people, in addition to all the other typical issues with congested urban living.

Exactly. It's especially telling that the first people that they're building facilities for in the new city are the ministers and political elite. It could be a great project but it needs to be inclusive. Unfortunately...

Dunno, don't really care tbh. Hotdogs are disgusting.

But I do love Bratwurst.

Today, We remember the life of Comrade General Jovan Divjak, A Bosnian Serb who lived up to the principles of Brotherhood and Unity by first serving in The Yugoslav People's Army between 1956-92 and then by joining the Army of The Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina from 1992-95.

Prince Philip's death is a reminder that you can be famous but that doesn't mean you're loved.

I'm not much of a sausage guy. Probably because it's hard to get Halal sausage. I've had a hotdog once. It was like $5 and about the size of my palm.

Soft shelled? Maybe. But it wouldn't work with a hard shell. That would be like eating a steak with chips.

Well, that you know as “hard shell”, like a totopo made one, I suppose is for Taco Bell and let me say you this: those shells are not tacos. If you wish to make a sausage taco, you can do it with a soft tortilla, cooked in a griddle or “comal” y mexican spanish. Making it to be still soft, but crunchy at the same time. Otherwise, you can always make “flautas” or “tacos dorados”, which are wrapped like burrito tacos that are fried like a chip with something inside. For example, you have the sausage, so you can just cut it by long or just put it entire over the tortilla and then, wrap it and submerge in to the hot oil, taking care to avoid the taco open inside the oil. This way, you may have a taco like totopo made of sausage for real and not that bad mimic of taco bell.
