The People's Socialist Republic of Urgabah is a gargantuan, efficient nation, renowned for its national health service, state-planned economy, and absence of drug laws. The compassionate, cheerful population of 42.972 billion Urgabahians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Environment, Education, and Welfare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Cornucopia. The income tax rate is 100%.

The frighteningly efficient Urgabahian economy, worth an astonishing 16,070 trillion Uollars a year, is driven almost entirely by government activity, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Book Publishing. State-owned companies are the norm. Average income is an amazing 373,984 Uollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Politicians are forced to wear portable lie detectors at all times, the Finance Ministry posts hourly updates on where taxpayer money is spent, leather-clad individuals can be seen walking their slaves in public parks, and people reciting Shakespeare have become a common sight. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Urgabah's national animal is the Monitor Lizard, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Urgabah is ranked 259th in the world and 3rd in the West Pacific for Highest Food Quality, scoring 513.35 on the Meeshlin-Starr Index.
