Just to quickly respond to Ambis:
The bill that Ambis is referring to is the High Court bill that was being debated in the House. Just a fact check, the bill did not pass the House until the 23rd of December, Ambis put the bill up on the 21st of December. So, its not that I didn't act on not putting the bill up...the bill had not officially passed the House!

As the Senators saw in Ambis' opening remarks, one of his main reasons to run against me was to beat my streak lol. Which he did by running. But, I don't care about my streak. I care about making sure the Senate runs efficiently.

I am not here to argue with Ambis. The Senate sees the inaccuracies with what he has stated and his incorrect arguments of inactivity. Countless times, Ambis has soft usurped the Senate without my knowledge. My entire plan has always been to gather senators of a diverse political background in order to create a team of hard working people to run the chamber. This is STILL my plan. Its impossible to do that when one of your team members is effectively attempting to usurp the chamber. One thing is true: I know Ambis, and so I was shocked to see his actions last term.

I am not here to argue with Ambis. I am here to answer any questions the Senate may have.

I will note that I made a small factual error. The bill had not passed the house for three days, it had simply been available to debate upon.

For the streak thing, that’s not one of my main reasons. Just a happy bonus that I joked about

Oh jeez an actual debate. Cool. Well, now that y'all have seen that, you must make a decision. Who shall be the next Senate Chair? The Ambis? Or Snowflame?

You can decide right now! All Senators may vote. The voting period shall last at least 24 hours, or until every Senator has cast their vote. Vote vote vote!

Out of respect, I will abstain from voting

I will be voting for Snowflame.

I vote for Snowflame

Abstain

I'm voting snowflame

If Snowflame will be voting himself, then I see no reason to abstain. I change my vote to myself.

Ambis

The vote is closed. With 3 votes for Snowflame, 2 votes for The Ambis, and 1 abstention, Snowflame achieves a majority and is re-elected Chair of the Senate. Congratulations, Snowflame.

I would like to thank the Senate for re-electing me. As soon as possible, I will be announcing my deputies and will get the docket posted. If any of you have any bills you would like to have put on the floor, be sure to either telegram me or send me a DM on Discord.

Thank you.

Good afternoon! I would first like to appoint Santa Marana as Senior Deputy and New Central Iowa as Junior Deputy. So, congratulations to you both.

We are also now going to begin our first piece of business:

Deputy Justice Deregulation Act
Author: The Ambis

Preamble
Recognizing the need for less restrictions
Noting that the Deputy Justice is currently a restricted position
Wishing to free this up
Amends L.R.048 as such:

Article I, Section IV

  • The composition of Category B shall be as follows:

    • Minister

    • Chamber Leader

    • World Assembly Delegate

    • Deputy Justice

Read dispatch

I encourage all Senators to debate and give their thoughts on this bill! Thank you.

I, obviously am for this bill. We keep talking about how we need to deregulate DJ, but never do

I have no objections to the bill and see no reason to vote it down. DJ needs needs to be deregulated.

Due to a lack of debate, we will now begin voting.

I will be voting aye.

I'll be happy to vote Aye!

Aye

Aye

Aye

Aye.

Aye

Voting has now ended. On the question of whether or not to pass the Deputy Justice Deregulation Act [Amendments to L.R.048], the results are as follows:

The ayes are 7, the nays are 0, and the abstains are 0. Thus, the bill has passed the Senate and will be sent to the House:
Ttyxious

Since there is no new business, the Senate will be going on recess. Enjoy the, hopefully, short break!

I declare myself speaker.
