Following much needed correction from Bow, I hereby open the Standing Period for the Chairperson Election. Per the law, this shall last at least 24 hours, or until each legislator in their chamber has declared their intent or non-intent to stand. Any sitting legislator may declare their intent to stand.

The standing period is now closed, and so now I hereby open the discussion and statements period with our declared candidates, Senator 
Snowflame and Senator The Ambis. Within this period, the candidates may address the chamber and the Senators of the chamber may, too, address the candidates, voicing concerns, making comments, or fielding questions. This period shall last around 24 hours. The floor is now open to discussion and statements.
Ladies, gentlemen, and all other relevant parties. I believe I should be chair for two reasons:
1) Snow completely neglected his job at the end of last term. I started several debates and votes, and even had to DM him several times to get him to vote. I, on the other hand, have always been active.
2) If nothing else, I want to break Snow’s streak of unanimous speaker/chair elections
Also, the man at no point had a docket, which is legally required
Thank you EC. My fellow Senators, this isn't an election over inactivity, it's an election over political ambition.
Last term, there was barely ANY senate business. In fact, the Senate was on very long recesses because of a lack of business. What Ambis did last term wasn't take over because of neglect, but a soft coup of the Senate. He did not message me about any debates aside from the one where he was a nominee. And he started that debate as I was talking on Discord with Bow and other parties publicly about political business. His "DM him several times to vote" was over HIS nomination and was way before the 24 hour minimum. My fellow Senators, what Ambis wants is to fulfill another political agenda.
IF Ambis or any Senator for that matter had any problem, I would've been DMed or asked about something. But Ambis wants political power.
Once again, there has been barely ANY business. What Ambis is stating today is misleading at best and lying at worse.

This is highly insulting to me. I am motivated only by my want to see the Senate grow stronger. I think that can be clear in my reluctancy to accept the role of Culture Minister, and the fact that I did not run last term.

Could not be more wrong. There is a legal ability for the Senior Deputy Chairman (myself) to take over if the Chairman goes absent for three or more days. The bill I passed last term had been passed by the House more than three days ago, and Senator Snowflame had not yet acted on it, so I took it upon mysef to get it passed, as I knew the term was drawing to a close, and I didn't want it to get re-debated.
False. I DMed Snow on December 28th, BEFORE my nomination, to go vote in the Senate. This one is just false.
I admit, I was rash in rushing to start the nominations. However, there was a vacany in the cabinet, and I'm sure not even you can deny that vacancies are dangerous things. My goal was to fill these vacancies as soon as possible. I swear, hand on heart, that I would have done the same had I not been a nominee. Additionally, it might have been before the 24 hours, but I intended to end the vote as soon as I woke up the next day due to time contraints of the coming election. I had valid reasons to DM him.
Again, I'm just insulted. You know me. Again, if I had wanted power, why would I not have ran last term. I already have power. I'm a minister. And a secretary. I don't need the chairman position to get things done. This is just making the senate run at an efficeny that I have proven in the past.
How am I lying? How am I lying Steak?
