On the mindset, I just feel like some leftists have a very nihilistic angry worldview. I sometimes even get this vibe from you tbh- nothing against what you stand for ofc, but it’s unsettling.

It's not one way of looking at it, though. Liberals simply don't believe in socialism, which you have to to be a Leftist. Any Leftist, Tankie to Anarchist, will you tell you as much. I think people you're referring to, aka confused liberals, are people just under the assumption that they're Leftist because they're on the Left of the Right-Wing in this country. It can't be understated just how right-wing America is compared to the rest of the world. And it's because of this that Liberals who support a more Nordic Model of the economy are labeled "Leftists". Of course, this is all just disregarding the history between Liberals and Socialists and the various types of liberals there are. You frequent Reddit, Lev, so I'd recommend looking at some Socialist subreddits to get even more the scope of this thing. Personally, I'd recommend Democratic Socialism and any of the Anarchist subreddits.
