My teeth are very hard to see and are also unaligned... I might buy an aligner sooner or later.

Random thoughts with Engiresco day one:

It always is weird to me that any nation above 10 billion on NationStates is a dictatorship. It literally is every nation above that mark.

Nardin wrote:The statements he made were his personal opinion. They in no way affected the official teaching of the Catholic church. I've been reading posts on all social media thinking that he has reversed catholic teaching on this issue completely, but it would be a mistake to read this move of his as such. If anything, in the coming days you'll hear lots of Catholics on both sides giving opinions about it.

now, I completely get what you're saying, however the issue with that is that, as the Catholic Pope, his word is the word of the bible.
By him endorsing gay people, what he's saying is that all the teachings in the bible that are against gay people (which they originally weren't) are wrong. It's hard to say that God's messenger, and the person who's job it is to be the most holy person on earth, is wrong.

My point is that if he says it, then it invalidates the argument of "the bible says this" since now that the most holy man on earth has said no, that's wrong

i wouldn’t say “the Pope speaks words of the Bible” because selling heaven isn’t exactly in the bible

he's not selling heaven?

What he said is what the bible was originally meant to say, which was who tf cares if you're gay, you be you. He's not selling seats into heaven, he doesn't do that (anymore lol)
His statement is simply invalidating those who use the bible against gay people, because as the Pope, he doesn't really have a personal opinion anymore, it's his job to interpret the words of the bible and tell us what God tells him, and when he says being gay isn't against the bible, well it's hard to fight that

Speaking of the Pope and Bible, here's something very controversial:

The Bible has been translated so many times it is no longer accurate in any way possible and is thousands of years old making it outdated and completely unreliable.

Please excuse me for disagreeing again. I'm not exactly what you mean when you say that the scriptures didn't originally teach against being gay, as I'm pretty sure that the church has always held it as their teaching that it was wrong.

On the point of it being hard to see that the pope could be wrong, I would say that just because the pope makes some interpretation of the bible doesn't automatically mean that he's saying the right thing by orthodox Catholic standards. There have been plenty of times in the past where there have been popes that have lived immorally, and even those that have taught what would be considered borderline heretical. So my point is just that saying "the pope said so" doesn't make it an end all argument, if you see what I mean.

But that's all I'll say on that. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. :P

I am completely irreligious so in my opinion the Bible is very inaccurate but it does have good morals

But yes, my mentality is this:

Don't judge someone based on their appearance, and don't judge someone based on something as gobsmacking as religion and politics. (no I am not British I just use many of their slang words to get my point across)

I don't justify that the Catholic Church is wrong, because they have done some stupid things in the past, and I think we all know of the Crusades as one example which may be the reason why Islam and Christianity have hated each other for centuries

Well, looking at the past (I know we don't listen too much to the old testament but here's something)
When Leviticus (the part that says man shall not sleep with man) was written, the Greeks and Iralites were just finding each other, back then the greeks did a thing where they would sleep with boys up to the age of 17 as a form of mentorship. Isralites were disgusted by this and literally put it into their holy text.
It was a translation error that made it become man shall not sleep with man, instead of talking against pedophilia (which is arguably much worse)

Oh, if you mean by orthodox standards then you're right, his voice doesn't mean much. However as the head of the Catholic Church, the church with (I think) the most followers on earth, then it still has a huge impact. As an Anglican, my religious head is technically Queen Elizabeth, however it would be a miracle in and of itself if she said what the Pope said (monarchs don't get involved in politics too much nowadays, and this is very political)
On immoral popes, yeah, they did, and they got away with it because they had power and could just excommunicate anyone who threatened them, but they don't have that power today (and they actually care about the religious part of their job now instead of the money and power part).

I see what you mean, however it does end it for Catholics, and it might cause other faiths to follow him (tho probably not lol)
