Alejandro Espina Coronil announces intention to run for the presidency of the nation by Newsroom, 18 de Marzo 2024, 10:30.

"I will run for the Council of State, I think myself mature and literate enough to guide the Montillan revolution, if only my comrades would lend me their trust." said Alejandro Espina in a speech to the People's National Assembly, met with applause and ovation from the comrades of the Communist Party. Alejandro Espina Coronil is a representative for Guaitiao, theorist and author of books such as Theory of Law in Bourgeoisie Societies and popular fiction titles like The Ideal Life, along with multiple pamphlets, a student held in high regard by Miguel Guerra in life, he is one of the most popular choices for who should take up the lead of the revolution in 2024.

Espina gained notoriety as a leader of the Union of Young Revolutionaries in 1970, after a letter to Miguel Guerra prompted the leader of the revolution to publicly self-criticize and improve his further understanding of theory. In 1971, Espina was taken as a personal secretary to the president, with claims that he was Guerra's apprentice, despite denials from both. An advocate of further modernization of the armed forces and a return to the policy of socialist solidarity of the 70s and 80s, Espina is known for his excellent oratory skills, knowledge of public policy and for being the architect of the humane drug policy in his tenure as Minister of Public Security from 1985 to 2000.

So far, he was the only candidate to explicitly express his intention to the presidency, others have only expressed their intention to the Council of State.
