Bernie Sanders has said he doesn't believe that the free market should be abolished, ergo he's just a social democrat and not a democratic socialist. AOC hasn't openly advocated for socialism either, although I do recall she's a member of the DSA. With that being said, I wouldn't put it past them that they're hiding their power-level.

I personally don't have any problem with social democrats, but I know some leftists, particularly Marxist-Leninists and the like, have some beef with them (something something "social fascism").

I highly doubt it, the political ideology of the region, while broad, disagrees with the fundaments of feudalism in very strong ways. After all, the real USSR was founded by revolting against feudalist monarchs/oligarchs in Tsarist Russia.
