A lot of times, I find it easier to get my economy up high, first, and then work on the other stats, after. Once your economy is high enough (around 'Frightening'), it reaches a kind of inertia that keeps it high, unless you do some truly drastic things, such as dissolving your government or banning all industry. So you could take some solace in that. You'll eventually get some issues coming around that will allow you to seriously boost things like Civil Rights and Political Freedoms (I'm just assuming those are your concerns), and then you can make up some of the lost ground.

When your population reaches 500 million, the field for your classification changes in the settings from a limited drop-down menu to an open customizable field. So basically you can write in whatever you like. And unlike the other custom fields that become unlocked, this one has no accompanying special issue.
