Point comfort colony

Happy Fourth of July to Americans and Friends of America! I see above there was some discussion of "Hamilton"? FWIW, I thought I'd pass along a few book titles I'd recommend on the American Revolution. You may agree or disagree, and there's no accounting for taste, but I found these to be really worthy of the read:
1. Memoir of a Revolutionary War Soldier, by Joseph Plumb Martin. This is a first hand account by a Connecticut infantryman; not a general or officer.
2. Founding Brothers and American Creation, both by Joseph Ellis. Really well-written and engaging accounts of the founders. Pulitzer prize winner. Hamilton is well-covered.
3. John Adams, by David McCollough. Also made into an HBO miniseries. The man was amazing. My favorite among the founders, I think. Another pulitzer prize winner author.
4. Patriot Battles: How the War of Independence Was Fought, by Michael Stephonson. Military history well done.
Hurrah and Huzzah for Friends of Liberty everywhere!

The Issue
The number of pregnant tourists arriving in Alleida dramatically increased after the country started granting citizenship to all babies born on its soil. Several of your sources report that most of these birth tourists are wealthy and often come from authoritarian nations.

The Debate
“Of course they come here; we grant citizenship like we were born yesterday, without regard for heritage!” exclaims Grand Mage Velma Nixon, leader of an Alleidan nationalist group. “The mothers come here and pay to stay in some luxury hotel suite, give birth, then go back to their country. It’s wrong! Soon these kids will grow up and move to live in this great nation, bringing their foreign garbage cultures with them. There’s nothing Alleidan about these babies, but we give them citizenship anyway. Mandate that only those with Alleidan blood in their veins can be citizens.”

Accept

“Let’s not be too hasty here,” chimes in Cassidy True, your chief financial adviser, scribbling some numbers on a sheet of paper. “Don’t you realize what a lucrative business opportunity we have here? If these parents are willing to spend lots of money to travel here just so their kids can be citizens, maybe we should charge them for each baby born in Alleida! You know, like a citizenship tax. According to my calculations, this would fill up our coffers in no time!”

Accept

“The government should not put our birthright up for sale,” argues Naomi Clark, struggling mother of two. “It’s unfair that foreigners can obtain citizenship without having anything to do with Alleida. So why don’t we just ban pregnant women from traveling to Alleida? They’re just here to take advantage of our country; their children do not deserve citizenship.”

Dismiss This Issue

I notice there's no "let them stay here" option. I dismissed it.
Oh yes, oh yes, someone with sense!
No offense Atheris, your opinions are valid.

None taken. I think Crowe was the best Javert; imagine having that as your opinion in the Les Mis fandom. Apologies for not taking it as sarcasm.

In my area, the people who do this aren’t qualified enough to do it. I would not be surprised if they blew up themselves.

It would appear we've misplaced a thief, Alice Parker. We really should have never taken our eyes off of her, but her point about "Hey, look, over there!" was quite compelling.
