Tensions continue to rise along the Empire-
Yamnat border.
Sources tell IBS that Army border patrols have intercepted 23 attempted crossings by what they describe as "terrorists" from Yamnat.
The same source has indicated that 16 "terrorists" were killed, and 10 captured, along with 18 weapons of various types, while 3 Imperial Armed Services (IAS) personnel were reported killed, and 2 wounded.
The Government of Yamnat has responded, saying that the "so-called terrorists" were "freedom fighters, returning to their ancestral homeland (Yemen) to liberate it from the oppressive rule of 
The Eastern Latins."
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) has announced that it will reinforce the patrols along the border.

Controversy Over Small Town City Council Elections
Reporter: "Today, a story covering the city council elections of Northern Madanubang, a small town northeast of Kuala Lumpur. Madanubang's council has recently voted in favor of allowing all voters to vote for 5 different candidates when they next go to the polls for city council. The council and much of the town has supported this, claiming that with 5 seats open, citizens should be able to vote for 5 candidates to fill them, as to, quoting the mayor "prevent extremist policies from making it onto the council by barely defeating part of a divided majority policy position." While some Tursian support such a change for communities nationwide, not only is it against state laws, but many point out the obvious issue that majority policy positions would be in permanent power. The People's Ministry of Defense have announced that the 41st Infantry Brigade will be deploying to the western border to guard against "possible aggressive moves by the imperialist The Eastern Latins."

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) has announced that former Vice Gerent Sir Michael Theophilus, Bt. has been named Honorary Colonel of the 3rd Infantry Regiment (3rd Infantry).
Sir Michael began his Army career with the 3rd as a 2nd Lieutenant, and rose to command first the 2nd Battalion, and later the entire regiment.
The post of Honorary Colonel holds no command authority within the regiment, but is a position given to distinguished former members.

In a development that has been welcomed by local and national officials alike, tensions along the Empire-Yamnat border have eased.
In spite of, or perhaps because of, the deployment of a Yamnati infantry brigade along their side of the border, there have been no reported attempts by terrorists to cross the border.
While the Imperial Army continues to be vigilant, sources tell ECN that officials hope that this will lead to better relations between Yamnat and the Empire.
Other sources are skeptical, pointing to continued Government and civilian support for the Yemen People's Liberation Army (YPLA) terrorist group in Yamnat.
For now though, the border is quiet.

The king is pushed down the hall in his wheelchair as he talks to his advisor about the option of opening relations with foreign countries. The advisor nods at the old king's wisdom and takes notes as he talks, only interjecting when he feels the king has missed an important point.

Host: "The Prime Minister has today announced new plans to share embassies with foreign nations. The plans have been seen by some as an attempt by the government to realign the nation's international position to better fit Conservative interests and some feel the timing of the announcement is highly tactical as the Labour leadership contest is yet to begin and the party is divided. The Prime Minister insists that the plans are only designed to 'open Britain up to the world' and that he has 'no ulterior motive'. The subject is due for a vote in parliament soon but many will be eager to discuss which exact nations will be offered embassies."

Host: "Welcome back, I'm here with Acting Leader of the Labour Party, Macey Dillard. Welcome, the Prime Minister recently announced plans to open new embassies with foreign nations, what were your initial thoughts when you heard this announcement?"
Macey Dillard: "Well, my first thought was, good, I was glad the government was finally taking this step, internationalism is a key Labour policy so we've been pushing for this kind of progress for a long time. That being said, when I looked closer I found, well, not much. There just wasn't much there, no specific nations to establish embassies with, no criteria and no description on how they would be distributed."
Host: "Will you be voting against the new plans then?"
Macey Dillard: "Only if they don't improve, because that would be ridiculous, I don't see how any sane MP could agree to it in its current state. I will certainly be asking questions about it during the next Prime Ministers Questions and as a party, we will be pushing for a proper proposal to be brought forward."
Host: "Ok, so on a different note, is there any estimated date on when the Labour Leadership contest will begin?"
Macey Dillard: "It'll be a few more weeks before we announce the candidates and we'll set dates after that."
Host: "Thank you for your time, that's all we have time for today."
OOC: I currently intend to do Prime Ministers Questions once an irl week on a Sunday. This will be shorter than the real ones and feature fewer questions. Obviously, this isn't as often as the real PMQs if it was done in RP time but every day wouldn't be feasible and probably far too much politics. I will be doing other less political stuff too.
