The Democratic States of Sunny Europe is a small, cultured nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons, public floggings, and spontaneously combusting cars. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 26 million Sunny Europeans are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The minute, pro-business, well-organized government, or what there is of one, juggles the competing demands of Industry, Education, and Healthcare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 4.1%.

The powerhouse Sunny European economy, worth 2.19 trillion Euros a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Gambling industry, with major contributions from Basket Weaving, Woodchip Exports, and Pizza Delivery. Average income is 84,358 Euros, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 270,188 per year while the poor average 19,987, a ratio of 13.5 to 1.

Safe drinking water is considered a luxury, surrealist houses shaped like mushrooms and volcanoes dominate the wealthiest neighborhoods, the only position a woman can hold is baby-maker, and studio executives abandon tragic stories of star-crossed lovers because "it's been done". Crime is pervasive, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Sunny Europe's national animal is the Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Sunny Europe is ranked 138,674th in the world and 870th in Europe for Most Patriotic, with 10.96 flags saluted per person per day.
