Tolkien's penchant for kingdoms/regions almost certainly influenced the name, albeit unconsciously.

The origins of Erinor as a name go back a fair bit, through various iterations in various attempts at writing in the past. I think it first appears as Urinor in something I was working on in my teens. I changed it to Erinor when I realised how that was most likely going to be pronounced...

It later became Erinea to fit the structure of my conlang, which is the official endonym of the country in RP, now, but when I first created this NS Nation I had none of that in mind (and my flag had chocobos on it) so plucked Erinor out of the murky past.
