How can I find a certain card that I want to buy?

Hoppyland wrote:How can I find a certain card that I want to buy?

What card do you want to buy?

The reddington states

page=deck/card=2369599/season=2

EDIT: for any nation you can type their name in the url (so

https://www.nationstates.net/the_reddington_states
) and one of two things might happen.

If you get taken to their nation page, great! Just click on the cards button and then the one that says "Show Card: NATION". By default it'll take you to the Season 2 card if it exists, but you can also select the Season 1.

If it says the nation doesn't exist, click on "view in the Boneyard". There you can see links to their card(s).

Thank you!

The Order of the Grey Wardens: Guide to being a Guardian
Region | LinkForum | LinkDiscord

What is a Guardian?

Being a Guardian is for warriors who are unable to engage the Darkspawn on the frontlines and yet are still willing and eager to fight the raider blight.

For those busy during the two game update times, you can still conduct military operations and make a difference as a Guardian. Guardians choose to guard and cleanse the regions of NationStates from the Darkspawn in-between update times with a more flexible schedule. Guardians move into target regions during the 12-hour windows between game updates and provide vital WA endorsement support to their leading officers, as well as conducting detags and off update defenses.

Guardian mission updates are found on the RMB (Regional Message Board) and World Factbook Entry for Guardian missions which are updated every 12 hours. There are also notifications given on Discord, if you are able to join.

You don't need to sign up or register anywhere, either on NationStates, on Discord, or the forum. Just start participating by following this guide! This guide will remain pinned in our region to serve as a handbook whenever you need it.

How to Participate:

We call your current nation in The Order of the Grey Wardens your "main nation". For Guardian missions, you will need another nation, which is called a "puppet nation". You can name this nation whatever you want when you create it. To get your puppet nation setup, follow these steps:

1) If your main nation is admitted to the World Assembly, resign now.
2) Login to your puppet nation, or create it if you have not done so already.
3) Go to the Settings page.
4) Associate a valid e-mail with your nation (make sure this is the same e-mail address as on your main nation).
5) In your Motto, make a reference to the name of your main nation in some fashion (so that we know it's you!)
6) Set the LinkGuardians Flag on that nation
7) Apply to join the World Assembly.
8) Check your e-mail, and confirm your admittance into the World Assembly.
9) Move to the current region listed in the newest Guardian RMB post and endorse the selected nation
10) Remain there until the lead nation gains the delegacy position

Between missions, keep your puppet nation in The Order of the Grey Wardens, endorsing our delegate Frilless islands.

Total mission counts and ranks are calculated at the end of each month by Guardian leadership, typically pinned on the main region page when published.

There may be times where the format of a Guardian mission changes, depending on the needs or goals of the mission. It's important to check your telegrams on your Guardian nation in case you receive special instructions, but here are some you might encounter generally:

  • If asked to move to a region, you move your puppet nation to that region by opening the region page, scrolling to after the World Factbook Entry, and then clicking "Move (Nation) to (Region)". (Note: Do not post on that region's Regional Message Board unless invited by native nations to do so)

  • If asked to endorse a nation, open that nation's page, scroll to the bottom, and click the button "Endorse (Nation)". (Note: You can only do this if your puppet nation is in the same region as that nation)

  • If asked to cross-endorse on a nation, you not only endorse that nation but also every other nation endorsing that nation. To see the endorsees of a nation, scroll to the bottom of the page to "Endorsements received:", which is followed by a list of endorsing nations.

  • If asked to cross-endorse in the region, when you enter a region, you will want to find your fellow Guardian nations and cross-endorse on them. To find these nations, you can either scroll through all nations in the region and look for nations with the Guardian flag, or look at the activity page for that region for nations moving to that region with the Guardian flag.

Guardian Ranks:

Being a Guardian offers quick promotions based on the number of missions you complete and further leadership opportunities. Guardian missions and various Guardian tasks are managed by those who hold the following ranks:

  • Silverite Guardian - The Silverite Guardian is the leader of all the Guardian forces. They will oversee missions and make sure the deeds of the Guardians are remembered for those who come after by maintaining records.

  • Guardian Champion - The Guardian Champion is second-in-command to the Silverite Guardian. They are an experienced veteran of the battlefields and can be trusted to provide leadership in the absence of the Silverite Guardian.

  • Guardian Captain - Guardian captains are those who have shown outstanding dedication to the cause and are entrusted to take the lead on missions when called upon by their superiors.

Even when not in leadership, Guardians can earn titled ranks that reflect their experience and hard-earned effort against the raider blight. These ranks are calculated by leadership at the end of each month, as found in the Guardian mission log:

  • Guardian Knight-Indomitable - These Guardians have dedicated countless hours to protecting regions. You can recognise them by their armor, dented but still glorious, and patched up over and over. That is, if you don't already recognise their storied name. (Awarded to those who have completed more than 125 missions)

  • Guardian Knight-Stalwart - Stalwarts are loyal to their friends and their quest, reliable in every battle, and hard-working, having dedicated their time and sword to a myriad of missions. (Awarded to those who have completed 76-125 missions)

  • Guardian Knight-Bulwark - These Guardians have attended a multitude of missions, their glorious swords always ready to plunge into battle. Regions know they can depend on a Knight-Bulwark. (Awarded to those who have completed 36-75 missions)

  • Guardian Knight - When you hear the gale of wings, and the glint of metal, and the cry of the griffin, a Guardian Knight cannot be far away, ready to help whoever is in need. (Awarded to those who have completed 21-35 missions)

  • Guardian - Guardians are the shields that protect the vulnerable, and the hands that reach out to help people back up after a raid. (Awarded to those who have completed 6-20 missions)

  • Guardian Squire - These young guardians have recently taken up their sword to protect regions all over NationStates. You can recognize them by their shiny new armor and boundless enthusiasm! (Awarded to those who have completed 1-5 missions)

Your government type is determined by a combination of your civil rights, political rights, and economic rights.

It looks like your nation was founded as a corrupt dictatorship, but you can answer issues to get yourself out of it.

Here's a helpful chart

.
.

Overview

This is a dispatch created in late 2020 in response to the charts on Wikipedia and other sources being grossly outdated by over a decade, and correspondingly inaccurate in quantifying classifications on NationStates. The charts and graphs below have been updated every six months since their original publication in order to provide more timely overviews of nation distribution by classification.

Read the chart in three-dimensional space. The more civil rights you have, the more you ascend on the X-axis. The more economic freedom you have, the more you move to the right on the Y axis. The more political freedom you have, the more you move back on the Z-axis. When classifying a nation, all stats are independently assessed; in other words, classifications are not based on whether you have more of one stat than another.

For example: To classify as a Moralistic Democracy, you will need to have low levels of civil rights, middling levels of economic freedom, and high levels of political freedom. To classify as a Scandinavian Liberal Paradise, you will need to have high levels of civil rights, low levels of economic freedom, and middling levels of political freedom, ect.

Are there any benefits for going to war with someone?

Sqiggly j wrote:Are there any benefits for going to war with someone?

Some people roleplay war for the enjoyment of writing a story

Actual military gameplay has the benefit of helping people keep their regions safe which is explained more here

Some Military Gameplay Basics

by Benevolent thomas

What is Raiding?

Raiding is when a group of nations move to a region to elect a delegate (giving control of that region over to that player), to capture or destroy the region.

What is Defending?

Defending is when a group of nations move to a region to either boost a native nation and/or delegate’s endorsement count or to elect a delegate of their own (giving control of that region over to that player), to protect the region from a raid, restore the region from a previous raid, and/or to preserve said region's original native community and/or history.

Where do the Grey Wardens Fit On this Spectrum?

The Grey Wardens primarily operate is a defender organization in that we believe that invading regions is wrong and look to prevent invaders from being successful. We take this a step further than most other defenders as we are willing to invade invader regions to give them a taste of their own medicine.

What Can a Delegate Do to a Region?

In many regions, a delegate cannot do anything to harm the region. If the region's founder still exists, they can set the delegacy role to "non-executive", so the delegate has no access to border control, appearance, or embassies, the tools that raiders usually use to deface a region. Even if the founder makes the delegacy "executive", so the delegate can do all these things, the founder always has supreme power. They can reverse any changes a raider makes.

The real danger comes when the founder has ceased to exist (or in really old regions made before founders existed). In these regions, the delegacy becomes automatically executive, so they can do whatever they want - and there's no founder around to stop them.

Provided that the delegate is has access to the regional controls, the delegate can alter and/or utilize the following:

• The World Factbook Entry (WFE)
• Regional Officers
• Dispatches
• The regional flag
• Suppression of Regional Message Board (RMB) posts
• The regional password
• Ejections and bans
• The ban list
• Embassies and embassy settings
• Regional tags
• Region-Wide Telegrams
• Welcome Telegrams
• Regional Polls

In order to partake in military gameplay, you will have to have to be a member of the World Assembly

What is the World Assembly

The World Assembly (WA) is a large legislative body that any nation can participate in and become a member of. The WA is made up of two chambers: The General Assembly and The Security Council. World Assembly Members are open to actively vote and participate in both chambers, but are not required to do so. Legislation passed by the body affects all of its member nations.

Councils and Proposals

The General Assembly is based around Role Play, and may affect your nation stats very slightly. The Security Council can pass three types of proposals: Commendations, Condemnations, and Liberations. A Commendation and Condemnation is a badge that appears on a region or nation's page as a way of recognizing the deeds by said nation or region (to encourage or discourage their actions), and a Liberation is a badge that is placed to remove a delegate-imposed password on a region and block the delegate from making another one. This does not affect a founder’s ability to password a region, though, and cannot be imposed upon individual nations. Security Council Liberations do not evict delegates or occupying forces.

Choosing a nation

If you wish to use your World Assembly nation for defending or raiding, without needing to leave the region you reside in, it is highly recommended that you log out and create a separate nation to join the World Assembly. World Assembly nations are also used for combat, and need to travel often, so making a secondary nation your World Assembly nation is typically a good idea if this is what you are interested in. If you are not interested in this, however, regions may ask that you endorse a specific nation or nation(s) as elected World Assembly delegates.

Joining the World Assembly

To join the World Assembly, go to your settings and enter in an email address that you check regularly . Next, go to the World Assembly page and you'll see a button near the top of the page that says "Apply to Join". You'll then be sent a confirmation email.

This email should arrive instantly. If it does not, check your spam folder, it is usually found in there. Be sure to remove the email from the spam folder if you want your email provider to recognize that emails from NS aren't spam.

Click the link inside the email, and you'll automatically be logged in and accepted into the World Assembly! You can now vote on resolutions, endorse other nations, and move your World Assembly nation as your military puppet! Note that it is against the rules to have more than one nation in the World Assembly at a time; the game may eject you from the World Assembly and even ban you from it if you try to have more than one nation with membership at the same time. You can have as many nations as you want and as many applications and confirmation emails for as many nations as you want, but only one can be in the WA at a time. You must resign from that nation to transfer membership to another nation if you wish to change it. In order to help prevent you from accidentally getting a second WA nation, you should use the same email address for every nation you make. The game has a built in safety mechanism that will prevent you from breaking the rules if you follow that procedure.

Endorsing a nation

To endorse a nation, you must both be in the World Assembly and in the same region. Simply scroll to the bottom of that nation's nation page, and click the button at the bottom that says "Endorse NationName". You have then successfully endorsed a nation! You can also see who has endorsed you at the bottom of your own nation page.

How does a Nation Become Delegate of a Region?

To become delegate, you must have the most World Assembly endorsements in the region when it "updates".

What are Updates?

There are currently two updates each day.

Each update is known as the following:

  • 12:00AM-1:30AM EDT - this is known as the Major Update.

  • 12:00PM-1:10PM EDT - this is known as the Minor Update.

What Happens During an Update?

The following is a list of all that takes place during the update:

  • National population increases.*

  • World Census Reports are issued.*

  • World Assembly resolutions finish voting and new ones arrive (at the beginning of update).

  • Influence increases (or decreases, for a nation that has left the region).

  • Inactive nations and empty regions cease to exist.

  • WA endorsements are verified and new WA Delegates are elected, if necessary.

*Major Update only

How Does Update Work?

Over the course of an update each region updates, one by one, although less than a second after each other. During this time, nations are updated within the region.

During these times, the endorsements are also recounted within the region. The nation in the region with the most World Assembly endorsements at this time becomes the region’s delegate. Each region updates at a specific time within this time frame, and can only update once per update. Likewise, each nation can only update once. Therefore, once a nation updates, it can no longer be used during the course of that update. Once a region updates, it cannot be updated again until the next update. If you move to a region that has already updated before your nation updates, and leave it there until the end of the update, your nation will not be updated, and none of the effects of update will occur to your nation.

Do I Have to Be Online During Update in Order to Participate in Operations?

You do not. Some invasions start to take place in the time between updates giving us more time to mount defenses. Many operations also take place over the course of several or many updates. During such operations, you will be asked to reinforce our ongoing effort.

Being available does have its advantages though. You will have the greatest amount of opportunities to participate in missions as well as an increased opportunity to lead missions. Many invasions these days take place during the course of update.

Where do I Go to Receive Deployment Orders?

Missions will be posted in the Warden Barracks, which is located on our discord server. Missions will be posted as pins in said channel. Make sure to check them regularly, as they have a habit of changing. The pinned post will contain the information you need as a Warden to take part of the operation. Make sure to post a reply, letting us know that you have deployed including which nation you're currently using. Once an operation is over, a Commander will notify Wardens. You may leave the region at that time.

Junior Warden Ryccia espousing the Sigma-Defender Mindset!1!

To truly experience the expanses of victory, one must play in hard mode. Nothing short of this is acceptable, lest you fall short of true sigma-godgamer status. Raiders have yet to experience true victory. They are simply unable to comprehend the grindset.

Defenders, however, are built different. When hard mode comes to our screens, we enthusiastically select it and then get a roughly 84% rate, successfully protecting 11 regions on hard mode... and that's on a rough night! Don't worry, with our new members embracing the grindset, such as the poetic Ryccia, we'll get those numbers back above 90% to shutout levels soon enough...

Not only is the grindset pure, but it comes en masse. Defenders, with no particular calling to action or pinging mustered brought nearly 20 updaters to absolutely obliterate the blight from the battlefield. With these inspirational numbers, Libcord (For Your Protection™) continues to keep its members engaged in the benefits of the defender grind.
