No, seriously, why?

Think about this from the perspective of profit. With most products, you can only push the price so high before your customers say "that's ridiculous" and decide to go without your product. If you're selling medicine (or water, or food), they can't go without your product. You can charge as much as you want, and they will ruin themselves to pay it, because otherwise they will die.

It's not beneficial for insurance companies to "lean on the pharmaceutical companies" and reduce prices. It's beneficial for them to do the opposite: get the drug prices to go higher so more people need insurance, then hike the insurance premiums higher. They win, and so do the manufacturers. The consumers lose, of course, but it doesn't matter how much desperation and misery is behind the money -- it's still money, and you'll get it as long as your cash cows are still trying to stay alive.

I have yet to meet a person the United States who doesn’t have health insurance, either through their employer/their own policy or through Medicaid (a google search shows me 9/10 Americans have some kind of health insurance, I love Obama)

Nearly everyone, and I mean nearly everyone, already has health insurance here, there is no one to convince to get health insurance

There is no benefit from high drug prices because they are the ones who pay for the majority of said drugs, and those excessive prices hurt their bottom line

I’m not sure how health insurance works or how common it is in Canada though so I’m not sure how it compares

Here is an updated version of Koroni Islam, I made it better basically.

In Koroni Islam Muhammad publicly designates 5 people to be his successors, those people being Abdul, Saman, Aayan, Ahsan and Amir. These 5 people would all lead the Koroni Islamic faith simultaneously. Muhammad said that this would work because they were all great at leading the faith, and he also added that he chose each successor to rule over a certain part of the Koroni desert, where 5 different mountains were. Each successor would go to the very top of their regional mountain, where Allah would speak with them. These 5 mountains would go on to be the 5 holiest sights in Koroni Islam. If one of the successors died, they would be replaced by their oldest son. If they had no son, they would be replaced by the oldest male cousin they had. If they had no cousin, it would be their Uncle. If they had no Uncle, the bloodline would end and they would have no successor to replace them. Eventually, all of the original successors ran out of replacements except for one, this being Abdul. His bloodline continued on, with Sheikh Ahmed bint Toukhmam, the Sheikh of Koronistan, being directly related to Abdul. Now let's go back in time a little bit. The areas of the Koroni desert were thriving, loads of people lived there, people practiced Koroni islam frequently, it was just great. But at some point around that time, a plague hit, which killed around 70% of the people living there, and the survivors had to relocate. Now we go back to the future, where in 1919, a man by the name of Ahmed bint Toukhmam wants to relocate back to the holy land, and he starts gathering the few left that still practice Koroni Islam. Once he gathered all of the Koroni Muslims, they set out on a journey back to the holy land to found the nation Koronistan. The capital was placed near the mountain that Abdul climbed up to, and 4 other major cities were placed around the other holy mountains. Because the Sheikh was directly related to Abdul, the Mountain Abdul climbed, now referred to as Mt. Abdul, became the holiest sight in Koroni Islam. And now we go back to today, where many people live in Koronistan and practice Koroni Islam frequently.

Elections are held upon the resignation of a sitting member.

I don't believe any sitting members intend to resign in the near future, touch wood.

Having insurance sometimes isn't enough. Ambulance rides are intense. I've seen upwards of $7,100 for a transfer via ambulance from a local hospital to a University Medical Center. However, some jobs now offer benefits to pay for ambulance and medical services (at least in my area). Personally, since I Dispatch the EMS Service and work for the County. I do not have to pay for any ambulance service so long as I am transported by my county's EMS service. I know some local employers have come to agreements (usually manufacturing) where they pay the ambulance service so much per month as a way to ensure their employees, and if their employees are ever transported then they do not pay. It's strange how things work.

hello everyone

Hi merlo

March 5th, 1919
It was a quiet night in the Eastern Lafari, the moon was shining, there were a few clouds in the sky, and people were fast asleep in their houses.
Except for one person. He was wide awake, with loads of thoughts circulating throughout his mind. He was sitting cross-legged on his small mattress that he called a bed.
He had been sitting this way for almost a day at this point, he never stood up to eat, drink or go to the bathroom. In fact he didn't even move around his toes or his fingers.
All he did was sat there and think. He thought about many things, but his main thought was how he would bring Koroni Islam back to it's former glory.
Afterall he was directly related to Abdul bint Toukhmam, one of the 5 successors of Muhammad. But he wasn't just that. He was Ahmed bint Toukhmam.
He envisioned a great nation, deep in the Koroni desert, where all practiced Koroni Islam. He envisioned a society, in which all would thrive. And he envisioned himself being the divine ruler of this nation. Finally, after almost an ENTIRE DAY of sitting quietly on his bed, he stood up. He walked over to get some tea, and after quickly drinking it he went over to where his wife was sleeping. Before he sat down on his mattress to think, he told his wife that he needed some time to be alone, and that she could have the day to do whatever she wanted. So that's why he wasn't with her when he was thinking. He opens the door and says, "Fatima, we need to talk".
She doesn't respond at first, but after around 10 seconds she wakes up.
"Why are you waking me up so early? It's like 3 in the morning let me go back to sleep!"
"It's super important, we need to discuss this now", replied Ahmed.
Fatima reluctantly follows Ahmed out of her bedroom door into the living room.
They both sit down in the living room to talk.
"Would you like a cardamom tea? I know it's your favorite type of tea", says Ahmed
"No thank you, I'm not in the mood for tea right now", replies Fatima.
"Okay listen Fatima, I've woken you up because we have to get out of here."
Fatima asks, "But why? Why are you all of the sudden wanting to leave despite the fact that we've had such a great life here?"
"We have to reform Koroni Islam, you see, I've been looking into the religion lately to learn more about it, and I found out I'm direclty related to Abdul, one of Muhammad's 5 successors", says Ahmed
"But why would you abandon such a great life-"
"BECAUSE WE HAVE TO GO!", Ahmed yells, "IT IS SO IMPORTANT WE GO, THE KORONI MUSLIMS NEED THIS THEY NEED LEADERSHIP, THE RELIGION WILL GO EXTINCT IF WE DON'T LEAVE NOW!"
"Jeez don't yell at your own wife", replies Fatima
"You can stay here for all I care!" Ahmed exclaims, "I'm gathering the remaining Koroni muslims from this town and the surrounding towns to go on a journey through the Koroni desert, to go to Mt. Abdul and to reunite the people of Koronistan!"
"The Koroni Desert?! That's one of the deadliest deserts in the world! You'll never survive the journey!" Fatima screamed in horror.
Her face turned as pale as you when you decide to become a basement dweller for an entire year as soon as she heard the words Koroni and desert.
"If I die during this journey, atleast I'd die trying to achieve something, if I die during this journey, atleast I'd die for a good cause, and if I die during this journey, atleast I'd die for Allah!" Ahmed exclaims.
"Okay fine, I'll go on your little adventure", Fatima says begrudgingly.
"Alright then", says Ahmed, "I'll gather the people at dawn, so start packing your bags because we're going on an adventure!"
Let me know what you guys think! This is the first part in a series I am making about how Koronistan was founded and I will be making more posts like this very soon!

also why is the rmb this dead all the sudden
