Two crosses are dragged up in the centre of the Legions Capital Legate Lanius the Blade of the East at his side he stands in the middle of the two crosses on a raised platform before him is a massive funeral pyre and at the top on a golden carrier with a legion banner draped across him is Caesar the Lord of the Legion son of Mars as Lanius begins his speech to the crowd two tribals are dragged to the crosses and crucified “These two profligates killed the Son of Mars, Lord Caesar. I was assaulted by another three of their misbegotten tribe outside Lord Caesars tent I crushed them with my bear hands sadly by the time they were dead Lord Caesar was mortally wounded, he in his dying words gave me his final order” Lanius points west with the Blade of the East “‘Finish your work, lead my Legion to conquest wipe the NCR from the wastes with extreme prejudice. Keep Vulpes Inculta alive he will aid you, do not bring your wrath upon my guard. Do this for me, Champion of Mars.’ I will Lord Caesar. I will serve your last order.” He then pointed to the frenzied crowd of Legion elites civilians and slaves “And so shall you serve his final order to crush the profligates of the west and bring about Lord Caesars Pax Romana! From this day forth I am the Legion I am the Monster of the East and soon the West! I am Caesar Lanius Champion of Mars! I will follow what Lord Caesar demands and so shall you! In time we will be ready but we must not act with bloodlust alone but with tactics and strategy. Now we must attend to the burning of the Son of Mars so he may meet his father!”

Caesar Lanius lights a torch and tosses it to the pyre; it bursts in a great flame. The crowd now whipped up into such a frenzy about the death of Caesar their God they threw their belongings, food and when they stopped others broke into nearby buildings taking anything that would burn and tossing it to the pyre. While this madness was going on Vulpes Inculta took to the stage with Caesar Lanius’s permission “Our Lord saved those tribals who had killed him from a life of dirt and savagery! To think he saved those men just so they could destroy him! We must wipe NCR from the world for the glory of Lord Caesar!” Vulpes then took off his vexillarius helmet and cast it to the fire in respect.

"Patrolling the east almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter."

Said Lombardo, a man roughly in his thirties, adored in his military uniform that decleared his allegiance to the NCR, a uniform that blended well with the savanna like surroundings.

"Like you'd stand living in the snow. Its wet, sticks to you and soaks you like a wet towel. Im from the mountains, trust me when i say it, its s*it."

Responded a guy not to far from him, his name Erletto, in his twenties, adoring the same uniform as him, although his accent slightly different from Lombardo's. Lombardo would merely sigh, shaking his head as he grabbed a pair of binoculars.

"At least you can warm it up and drink it... ill tell ya, when someone finds a way to make water out of sand, ill stop being nihilistic."

Lombardo responded back, putting the pair of binoculars infront of his eyes and looking out twoards the empty land. Erletto would merely chuckle, scratching his chin as he spoke.

"Did i forget to mention its freezing. You wouldn't stand it after having your b*lls get froz-"

It is then that Erletto would be interupted as Lombardo shouted, his tone much more on edge than his usual monotone self.

"The f*ck is that!"

Erletto would be slightly startled, looking at Lombardo as he walked closer to him, trying to look at the direction he was.

"What is it? Some kind of mutant?"

"No... Its the Legion..."

Lombardo responded, handing Erletto the binoculars. Erletto would take them, a confused expression on his face as he spoke.

"The Legion? So what? They hang around in these parts all the time, aint the first nor the last time we've seen the-HOLY S*IT WHAT THE F*CK ARE THEY DOING!?!?"

Erletto watched in pure shock at what was happening. Legion troops, adoring their usual Natinesque military armour, administrating what seems to be slaves, slaves who where constructing a structure, setting up tents and digging trenches around it. This was no usual Legion camp that the NCR was used to seeing, this was a threat, a threat being constructed dangerously close to the border.

"Get the radio, contact General Erich Schugel now, we have to report the Legion's activity!"

Lombardo would say, looking twoards the Legion's direction with a stern, though slightly worried, expression on his face. Erletto would look at him in silence for a solid few seconds, before nodding and turning to run twoards their unceremonius carriage, hopping onto it and shifting trought radio signals until finally making contact with the HQ. In a dire and alarmed tone of voice, Erletto would begin speaking into the microphone.

"HQ! HQ! This is lieutenant Erletto Garazzi of the Point Rigiorno patrol squad. We have urgent news for general Erich Schugel! I repeat, urgent news for general Erich Schugel!"
