The Romanoddlian Federation

Comprising of a vast majority of the Pricas region of Nonscio the Romanoddlian Federation is the 9th largest nation in the world. A Federal Republic comprising of 17 states it is home to 174 million citizens referred to as Romanoddlians. The name Romanoddle originates from the age of the failed conquests of the Natin Empire. Who referred to the people of the region as the Romanoddlius. Which in modern Valish means “The Strong-Headed People.” A descriptor that still applies to the Romanoddlians to this day. Most of the nation is classified as Csb, or warm-summer Mediterranean. The country is known for its large Pricas temperate rainforests and its quaint costal towns. On its northern border sits the nation of Lointland and to the south and east by Volinovia.

The Romanoddlian Federation is a liberal democracy which was established in 1973 a year after the start of the Federation War. The government is made up of three branches, the legislative, the executive, and the judicial. The legislative branch, referred to as the Common House, is unicameral and is made up of 475 representatives and are elected to an unlimited number of three year terms. Every three years the entirety of the Common House is up for re-election. The executive branch, or the Presidency, is headed by the President of the Federation who can be elected to two five year terms. The Judicial Branch includes the Supreme Court and the Federation’s federal courts. The Supreme Court is made up of 9 Justices and are picked by the President and approved by the Common House. The federal court judges are also nominated by the president and approved by the Common House.

As of the 2033 census the Romanoddlian population is approximately 174,821,017. Equating to roughly 56 people per square kilometer. The fertility rate is estimated at 1.73, which is below the ICJ accepted replacement rate of 2.1. However the Federation makes up the difference in immigration. Immigrants make up 21% of the population, or 36,712,411. Romanoddle is one of the world’s most popular immigration destinations, due to the nation’s free society and ease of entry for both immigrants and refugees.

Like much of the rest of the developed world religion has seen a major decrease in popularity among the general populace. With about 34% of the Romanoddlian population either identifying was agnostic or being atheistic. Of the remaining population 42% identifies as a Kahlerist denomination, most identify with the Lauitist denomination. 20% identifies as Sanguis Catholic. With the final 4% being split among the rest of the worlds religions.

The Romanoddlian a federation is one of the largest economies on Valsora with a GDP of $8.2 Trillion. With a large and well developed consumer base the country is also one of the richest with a GDP per capita of $47,142, putting it far above most other nations.

In addition, diplomatic ties with Westmore have been broken as of March 2nd, and an extradition process to rescue the remaining Arovannean citizens in New Westmore has been stalled by the government in Dalesburg, leading to threats against Westmore of war should they continue to stall for time.

THE INTIAL EXHIBITION GAMES IN VERDANNA HAVE GARDNERED SIZEABLE CROWDS CONSISTING OF TOURISTS FROM MANY NATIONS, WITH THE VOLINOVIAN-LOINTIAN CONTEST OFFICIALLY HAVING AN ATTENDANCE FIGURE OF 31,748. The first game of the VPBL would be the most anticipated of the night, as many were intrigued by the Nonsicoan rivalry matchup. Over 30,000 proud Lointian fans showed up for the inaugural VPBL exhibition match, but it was not enough to shake the visiting Volinovians. Volinovia struck first late in the bottom of the 5th inning, going up 1-0 but could not stay in the lead as the Lointians, (the de-facto "away" team) punched back in the top of the 6th to tie it back up at 1-1. Any hope of a Lointian comeback were squashed as the Volinovians threw two haymakers; one run in the bottom of the sixth and two in the bottom of the eigth. The last Lointian batters were suppressed in the top of the 9th, as Volinovia took home the first ever VPBL game, 4-1.

Malvekian pitcher Vic Allison had himself a day on the mound, going all nine innings and putting up a clean sheet against the quiet Dancian offense. Malvekian hitter Dusty Jenkins hit a 420 foot bomb in their 4-0 squashing of the Dancian nine. Dancian pitcher Bill Raysor didn't do half bad, either, putting up six strikeouts and only giving up 2 earned runs over 7 innings. This Dancian team needs to figure out their offensive woes quick if they want to compete with the other squads in the upcoming tournament.
