The Crown Prince has passed. The cause it still unknown. The Kaiser thanks you for your understanding during this difficult time.
It is with sad news that I say our Empire suffered a sever terrorist attack launched by a traitor. We are in the process of rebuilding but the damage was extensive. At the same time a dear ally of ours has also come under attack by a terrorist organization.

Operation Perlton II, the second stage of Dou Bouxian colonization efforts in Great Perlton was officially launched this morning as The Royal Bonafacio Regiment, under the command of Colonel Tristan Hernandez and the 1st (Perland) and 2nd (Perland) Battalions, King's Perland Rifles landing on the west coast of Great Perlton at the newly-named Jaren's Outpost at 10h00 this morning. This is to be the site of Joint Operational Headquarters. They made the landing after crossing the Channel from the Perland Protectorate, a Dou Bouxian territory in the archipelago. The Regiments form part of The Perlton Expeditionary Force, under the command of Brigadier-General Sir Michael Kilroy. The crossing was made on HIMS Princess of Argentinstan with members of the Auxilliary Services Corps.
The 1st and 2nd Battalions have began advancing in a North-Easterly direction towards the north of the island. However, they have been expressly instructed not to cross the frontier into the Bencos Peninsula, which is sovereign territory Semolia. The 3rd and 5th Battalions have began advancing in a South-Easterly direction towards the south of the island. They have been ordred to respect the territorial sovereignty of the Menross ECS of the Imperial royal union. Both The Imperial Royal Union and Semolia are allies of ours and we wish to in no way undermine their sovereignty in their territories in Great Perlton, which we recognize and respect in all things. The 5th Battalion and 1st Battalion, King's Bristen Rifles have began advancing in a general Easterly direction. All regiments are to construct strategic outposts along the route with the assistance of the Auxiliary Services Corps. The 2nd Battalion, King's Perlton Rifles will remain at Joint Operational Headquarters to provide for defence and air support will be provided by the 17th Squadron, Royal Dou Bouxian Airforce under the command of Wing Commander Henry Mckenzie. Any additional supplies shall be sent from the Perland Protectorate as required. Further releases as to the status in Great Perlton shall be forthcoming.

In view of consistent and unprovoked attacks against 
Dou Boux and its possessions by The West Furiso Revolutionary Territory of 
Furiso, His Imperial Majesty's Government hereby declares that a state of war now exists between Dou Boux and The West Furiso Revolutionary Territory. The Minister of Defence has been empowered by His Imperial Majesty to cause for the direction of the military forces of Dou Boux towards a successful termination of the conflict.
The 19th Squadron, The Royal Dou Bouxian Airforce under the command of Wing Commander Harry Plunkett will commence with strategic aerial bombing operations over Nyipp, the West Furiso Revolutionary Territory capital, at 07h00 tomorrow morning. The Furiso Expeditionary Force under the command of General Sir Michael Hoare and consisting of The Royal Bonafacio Regiment and The Royal Santa Clara Regiment has set sail for the WFRT and will arrive on the 20th of December. His Imperial Majesty's Government has also issued a warrant for the arrest of Lagwa Kuuniarii on charges of slave trading and racketeering; and wishes to make clear that it has no quarrel with the Free Republic of Furiso.

New Year's Eve Uprising in Merck

MERCK: Riots erupted on the streets of Merck in Imperial Royal Union's holdings in Great Perlton after talks between the autonomous government of Meross ECS and HIM Government fell through.
According to the Department of Domain Enlargement and Empire Relations, HIM Government had rejected the proposals from the Meross ECS Government, citing its poor credit rating and major lapses in accounting standards, as well as unrealistically extravagant expenditure figures. The mismanagement of the Perlton Meross Bank amongst under investment ventures by the Meross ECS Government was also cited as a key reason.
It is estimated that there are more than 600,000 people on the streets, demanding the resignation of the executive and legislature, as well as the return of bank savings after a bank run in the morning forced the Meross ECS Government to shutter all banks. Reports of looting have also surfaced.
The police have also been deployed around Merck although sources on the ground report a disproportionate police presence in the upper class neighbourhoods of Merck and especially those where members of the executive and legislature reside in. Clashes with the police in such neighbourhoods have been especially violent. Demonstrations outside of the international airport in Merck have also prompted flight cancellations.
In preparations for a planned transition to change the political status of Meross ECS to a Special Administrative Department with significantly greater autonomy, the executive and legislature had not been determined or vetted by HIM Government since April 2020. Experts now say such a plan would only be possible if the situation can be brought under control, although the likelihood of that diminishes by the minute.
There have been no statements by the Meross ECS Government since the announcement in the morning, although there have been rumours that the Imperialean National Armed Forces garrison in Great Perlton have been put on alert and possibly activated.

MERCK: Riots in the capital of Meross ECS in Merck have spread to the rest of the territory as the unrest drags into its 5th consecutive day. Almost all regular and volunteer police units have been outfitted with shields and batons, while police special forces and the riot police have been spotted discharging live ammunition since the wee hours in the morning.
Efforts by the Meross ECS Government in Merck to appease the rioters have not been successful. A last-ditch effort by the locally elected government to raise revenue to support an overpromised and overburdened spending plan by selling off government assets irked critics and incensed the mobs on the street further. Furthermore, the government was unable to provide assurance on whether deposits in the Perlton Meross Bank could actually be guaranteed.
First Secretary Joshua Ritter and other members of his cabinet were reportedly besieged in their own homes while outnumbered police special forces clashed with rioters on their front lawn. At least 24 deaths from such clashes have been reported in the last hour. Despite the growing violence, members of the cabinet were still active on social media, condemning the escalating situation while promising "an extraordinary compromise that is acceptable by all".
The Department of Domain Enlargement and Empire Relations stressed in it press release in the afternoon that "the Meross ECS Government must put an end to the situation swiftly, or HIM Government will take the necessary steps to restore order on their behalf".

King and Queen of Varendia welcomed to Dou Boux

LOS BOUXIANA: All the pageantry that makes this nation's state occasions world-famous was rolled out again yesterday morning in the Capital as Their Majesties The King and Queen of Varendia arrived in Dou Boux. Accompanied by Crown Prince Erik, Their Majesties touched down at Los Bouxiana International Airport just after 11h30 yesterday morning. According to Madame Cécile Bechard, Spokesperson for The Imperial Palace, the purpose of the four-day state visit is two-fold: "Their Majesties are here to help strengthen bilateral cooperation between Dou Boux and Varendia and between the two Royal Houses." The Varendian Royal Party was met on the tarmac by The King-Emperor, Queen-Empress and The Princess Victoria Eugenie; as well as members of The Government and Diplomatic Corps.
King Gustuv and His Imperial Majesty reviewed a guard of honour that had been mounted by members of the 1st and 2nd Battalions, Royal Bonafacio Regiment, which was then followed by a carriage procession through the Capital. There were were Varendian Flags fluttering as far as the eye could see as some 450 000 people gathered to greet the Varendiane Royals on their first visit to Dou Boux. The party then made its way to the Imperial Palace for the exchange of gifts and honours and to meet with The Queen Dowager. His Imperial Majesty presented King Gustuv, Queen Gunbritta and Crown Prince Erik with the insignia of a Knight Grand Cross of The Most Noble Order of The Crown of Dou Boux, this nation's highest honour. In addition to this, King Gustav was presented with a six-piece gold writing set and Queen Gunbritta received a sapphire and diamond parure consisting of a tiara, necklace, earrings, two bracelets, a brooch and two rings. His Royal Highness Crown Princess Erik received a pair of emerald cufflinks from Princess Victoria Eugenie, as well as a classic book on Polo - a favourite sport of the Prince's.
The Queen Dowager then hosted a luncheon for the visitors before appearing with them on the balcony to greet the assembled crowds. Whilst looking evidently frail, the 97-year-old Queen Dowager appeared unaided on the balcony to greet the crowds that still see her as the Mother of The Nation. After their meeting with Her Imperial Majesties, the visiting King and Queen retired to their suite to prepare for the evening's festivities. Shortly after 19h30, a state dinner was held in the Hall of Knights in honour of the visiting guests. 1200 guests - including members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of the Government and Diplomatic Corps, prominent Varendianes and the entire Royal House - dined on a six-course meal and danced the night away.
Tomorrow, The King-Emperor and Queen-Empress will take Their Varendiane Majesties to visit the Houses of Parliament, and to the Guildhall where King Gustav will be bestowed the Freedom of Los Bouxiana; before they branch out and visit various locations around the capital. Her Royal Highness Princess Victoria Eugenie will accompany Crown Prince Erik to the University of Los Bouxiana where he shall receive a Doctorate of Civil Law, honouris causa. Following the visit, they shall visit the Royal Stud, before flying to Bonafacio to visit the Saint Charles Borromeo Children's Hospital of which Her Royal Highness is Patron.
