Otsla wrote:Saddam would shake President François hand firmly and would not stop shaking his hand for a good 3 minutes, making things somewhat awkward. Abdullah Hakim would repeat President François words to Saddam in Arabic and give out Saddam's response while they walked to the upper-floor room.

[Saddam Hussain]:
"لا لا سيدي الرئيس ، من دواعي سروري أن كل شيء لي. يا لها من مدينة جميلة ، فهي مليئة بتاريخ وثقافة غنية"

Abdullah Hakim:
"His Presidency remarks, No no Mr President, the pleasure is all mine. What a lovely city this is, brimming a rich history and culture. Truly worthy of being the capital of the French Republic."

| "Strange fellow", Mitterrand would think to himself. But far from being unnerved, the old President was amused, and a mischevious smile appeared on his wrinkled face as he made his way up to the upper rooms of the Palace with Saddam. He whispered something to an aide of his, in a voice too low for Saddam or his interpreter to hear anything. |

    | President François Mitterrand (Turning back to Saddam): | "It is indeed. I hope you'll enjoy it. Come in, let's sit and talk with some tea, or coffee, as you like."

| As Mitterrand and Saddam sat in cushioned old chairs in the lavish room, the Presidential aide to whom Mitterrand whispered something came back. Opening the door of the room wide, he let a thigh-high jet black Labrador dog run inside. The dog rushed to the guest - Saddam - and sniffed his clothes, put his paws on him, and attempted to lick his face, hands, and ankles as Mitterrand sat back in his chair, amused by the sight. |

    | President François Mitterrand: | "Baltique, Baltique! Sit, you unruly canine! Ah, meet my dog, Mr. Saddam. Don't worry, Baltique is very nice, she won't bite. Ahhhh, come here, my dog."

| After frolicking around Saddam Hussein, Baltique came near Mitterrand, and the old man pat the dog on her head in a grandfatherly manner. |

Kim and Jang Face a Tough Fight in Presidential Elections

      | Kim Yong-dae and Jang Tae-hyun face a tought fight against one another in the upcoming Presidential election, the two men who helped bring stability to the country in the aftermath of the November Revolution have been at loggerheads ever since over the direction the country should take. Kim favours honouring the past of the country and has admitted he'd rather leave Korea as two seperate entities rather than uniting under one flag, whereas Jang favours a break from the past and the gradual alignment of North and South with unification as the end goal. |

      | In March, Jang officially formed his own party while he briefly remained as Prime Minister. He claimed that a new party was needed to properly break away from the past, he aims to subplant the Korean Social Democratic Party, where many of his AMs have come from. As the interim President, Kim has already declared his intention to contest the presidential election, with Jang throwing his hat into the ring following the formation of his new party. Following his announcement as a candidate for the October election he resigned as Prime Minister passing the batton onto Lin Min-jung making her the first female head of Government in Korea. |

      | Polls indicate to a close contest with Kim's intention to stand as an Independent he's won the backing of both the Korean Social Democratic Party and the Worker's Party, despite this Jang has narrow 2% lead on average with most polls showing a tie in the first round. In the second round the polls vary depending on the polling company from a 10% lead for Jang or a 3% lead for Kim. |

        Kim Yong-dae: 41.5%

Myanmar sits as the seat of a large potential power base in South Asia. With vast resources, large territory and defensible terrain the country could easily become an influential power in the world stage. As well as a regional power in the Asian sphere.

Currently the government is ran by a dictatorship, the G Raann Hkaunggsaung (Grand Leader), also has the titles of G Raann Aahtwayhtway (Grand General) & Bhurarr Sahkangya S Nyya Shngya Bhur Ngya (God King/King of God). Largely due to being the grandson of late activist Bogyoke (Major General) Aung San. A man perceived to be one of the greatest men in Burmese history, having established the dictatorship earlier than many thought and avoiding assassins in 1947 before dying of lung cancer in 68', leading to a 20 year reign until his son handed control and stepped down as leader to his grandson & current 22 year old dictator Khaing Naing Thura.

Many believe that Khaing Naing Thura, is both a reincarnation of his grandfather and of a deity itself. A walking God, with the way Myanmar propaganda & politics portray him. He currently rules with an iron fist, using the military as a tool to control the populace having recently purged many military officers and higher ups to cement his power, allowing newer and fresher minds more aligned to his views to take power.

စစ်ရေးပြုပြင်ပြောင်းလဲမှုများ
While Myanmar has a large volunteer military, it views it as only beimg highly effective as a counter-insurgent & resistance based military for defensive measures rather than power exertion. Khaing Naing Thura, however, believes it's imperative Myanmar gets a larger military with more updated equipment and higher stockpiles to strongly cement Myanmar as a military power that can defend itself and potential allies. Potential powers it's requested tovpurchase arma from include the following;

Soviet Union (Liberalina)
China (Alzarikstan)
Yugoslavia (Not xav)
Vietnam (Enchanted Oasis)
Iran (Paseo)
Czechoslovakia (Mebet)
Pakistan (Antillian)
Portugal (Valijun)
& The United States (Paramountica)

စီးပွားရေးဇုန်ရွှေ့
While the dictatorship initially started out as a Semi-Communal-Socialist State, it has largely shifted and reformed into a Dictatorship, simply called the National Republic for short, being a Republic in name only with a mainstream title by the Myanmar government as the National Republican Myanmar Union in full.

Due to this, while the country is willing to allow some forms of private investment into the nation. The vast majority of sectors are nationalized under control of Khaing Naing Thura & the military. Even the sectors which allow private investment are market sectors rsther than resource centers, owing to Myanmars history of colonization the country sees it imperative to protect itself from economic imperialism by the West & East alike. With market sectors usually having government officials in some form present whether as owners of thr company or as a major stock & shareholder.

Myanmar has however, made itself one of thr safest countries to visit for tourism, with relative lax restrictions on people being allowed to travel the country unlike most dictatorships in the region. With Myanmar's military government, dissent and especially crime towards foreign tourists is heavily punished by the government itself. That said, there are of course areas off limits to civilians for national measures, but most places one would go for a tourist vacation & major cities are free and open to explore.

Potential economic investors approached include;
Soviet Union (Liberalina)
China (Alzarikstan)
Yugoslavia (Not xav)
Vietnam (Enchanted Oasis)
Iran (Paseo)
Czechoslovakia (Mebet)
Pakistan (Antillian)
Portugal (Valijun)
The United States (Paramountica)
