Fortunately for Qirka, the two women rise, quickly catching up to her with their impressively long strides.
"The first and fourth night feasts take place in the city-center halls," Dircya explains. "Each city has a hall, where all of the public holidays are observed. Attendance is optional, but everyone in Dorsla is invited, even the Atheists.
"On the second and third nights, families are given the opportunity to celebrate in their own homes, or to visit their friends and relatives. Visitors must comply with their host's religious standards while in their house, which is why some invitations are declined in the more fluid areas."
Isla remains silent for the entirety of Dircya's conversing. As a reform Catholic, she doesn't have much to say when it comes her opinion of Abrahamic monotheism, and she doesn't wish to look silly when discussing anything, especially in front of people she doesn't know as well.
"What do you have to say Isla? Are you religious?" asks Qirka casually... "I've heard you're a catholic... Or more so I've read... Christian Catholic? What kind of catholic? Is your church in union with Roman pope?" she continues...
"No. We're in union with the Virgin de Guadalupe." Isla looks around nervously. "Where do you get this information from? I've never heard of anyone mentioning my religion to you...."
"I think that's obvious... There is nobody who has any information on the internet, or available to a group of people that won't end up in Enforcement's Database... Everyone knows this... I didn't design this... It just... is... Nobody does anything about this and none of my people complain... They actually don't mind and like that... that's the story... Anything the enforcement knows I have access to..." she explains.
"I don't know what you mean... I do not look information that I do not have to know. Why would I?" Qirka explains... "I couldn't remember it all anyway" she then adds before laughing.
Dircya shrugs. “We all have things about ourselves that we’d rather not have others know.”
"There is always someone who will share those information in the internet for any reason, ranging from good, to the most malicious and everything in the internet is eventually accessed by the Enforcement..." says Qirka with a bit of boredom in her voice... "That includes my naked pictures and my daughter's pictures too... Nobody is safe or is allowed any sort of privacy in modern world, so why pretend there is such a thing?" she adds with some anger in the voice.
Zhonim decency shouldn’t be this difficult for people, Isla thinks.
Dircya notices the stale tension and decides to liven things up. “Thank you again for this opportunity,” she says gratefully. “Are you using the same helicopter that Lani traveled with you in, or do you have an entire hangar filled to the brim with these?” Dircya helpfully gestures to the aircraft in the distance.
"We're using a plane this time... I always use the state aircraft... They all actually and officially belong to me. It is almost obvious that I would have some of them altered to fit my personal needs..." she explains.
"Also an important thing... Do not ever use so called gender-neutral pronouns in Khazar Lechia... People get very offended when they see them, or even worse hear them... Anyway, my point was. You cannot be mad that people know the things about you, that you share on the internet. The internet never was, is not and never will be a private place... All of it is completely public and accessing it is completely legal, whenever it is shared in public... Anything that you yourself did not put there, but someone else did, is also collected, except to a separate database that is only used in legal actions or in case of war... I only look into information about me and my family in that second database..." she explains, circulating back onto the original topic for a moment.
"Anyway... Don't just change the subject because someone feels bad about it... It won't make you hated, or anyone annoyed, but you might be seen as weak and funny to people. I understand it and don't mind it, but wanted to tell you in case you would be talking to people in KL. Also... al-Wajnov is still angry after Lani insulted him on the basis of him being a man... I thought you might need to know this, as he actively accuses Dorsla of being sexist and of male persecution... He is not part of the government, but I believe he used to be your friend at some point..." she says changing the subject in the end once again as they enter the plane.
