☩ Verlaine Square | Scavo has reported its first terror attack since the 2009 Rombattanzo Synagogue Bombing this morning after a group of armed and dangerous individuals, self-claimed to be Jihadists, have attacked the Piazza Verlano in central Aviva, near the port of Giappho. The camera footage depict two men in black dresses approaching the square during the morning rush hour around 08:18 in GMT+3 Jerusalem Time.

The group then split in the opposite sides of the square, one facing the Eretz Tziyon Synagogue, and other facing the Giappho Marina. They opened fire on the crowd at approximately 08:37 GMT+3 before the civil police have intervened and neutralised both attackers.

The attack injured six, one of them fatal; while two were pronounced dead on scene, whom were Katerina Metaxas, a 38 year old Greek tourist, and other being Isiah Hacmon, a Jewish teenager of 17 years. The injured are currently being treated at Mount Saintly Catholic Hospital at Central Aviva and are said to be improving.

Lord Governor of Giudia, Gianmario De Luca, has condemned the attack as a vile attempt to disrupt the national stability by foreign powers, announcing increased security measures in both Aviva and the canton of Giudia until further notice. Piazza Verlano will be closed to public until the 26th of September to "monitor the state of the perimeters", as announced by the Secretary of Public Safety under the order of Madame Chancellor Gabriella Armagno. Funeral of the victim K. Metaxas will be sent to her hometown Iraklion with the assistance of the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic.

Secretary of Public Safety advises all citizens living in or around the Greater Aviva to stay indoors unless necessary, heightening the danger code of the canton to B1 (Amber) for 14 days. Tourists visiting Aviva are encouraged to postpone their vacations expect those which are essential, and dramatically increasing all security at the Delfino International Airport.
