Region: United Nations UN

Official Re-Inauguration of the Republic
It was a grand day in Champala as we here at the Champion happily celebrate the official end of the Naval Junta as former Admiral Ana Tevka made the official exchange with the newly elected president. Many felt that having been on the receiving end of the coup, the theoretically incumbent conservatives of the National Unity would have a hard time climbing back up to the presidency; but the revival of both the Trade Union-aligned Unionist Party and the Social Revolutionaries essentially ripped away a big enough portion of the left-wing of the People's Union that in combination with the "Fresh Slate" slogan/initiative carried out by the party and both former presidents Tenrik Koth and Sadie Hart managed to barely get in a victory for the NUP. As such, when the official exchange of office happened, Ana Tevka was seen alongside the (rather bland and boring) NUP paper-pusher Eric Tims, who'd been placed as the party's nominee do his rather clean and boring record.

Despite his personality, President Tims gave what has been titled by many to be the "Normalcy" speech, in which he claimed that through the "Fresh Slate" initiative and informal partnership with the People's Union that Azaltan shall soon reclaim it's pre-Junta lifestyle: a lifestyle of making home with the mighty oceans and attempt to reclaim it's slate of being the informal neutral mediator of the region. He also made the specific promise of modernization of Azaltan's "Floating Canneries" before ending his speech with a short moment of silence for the recently departed Stanton Kor, who had correctly predicted that he'd not live to make another appearance after the latest constitutional convention.

Also Present at the celebration were former Presidents Hart, Koth, and surprisingly Todd, all of whom seemed genuinely relieved and were extremely warm when spoken to by our reporters and other media (even Todd); with Hart and Koth in particular extremely glad about the rebound of the NUP despite it's own mistakes having led to the incident with the coup. All three of them support the new government wholeheartedly, and as have the nominees for the RU, SR, and Maximist Parties; alongside former People's Union nominee Ruther Wentz and especially Wentz Corporation. It appears that that the path of the Republic is in fact, a positive one.
