Attributing one single cause to income immobility is a perilous path to tread on, there are heaps and piles of factors - bad decision making is one of them. I really don't think it is the main cause though. If you born in a lower class, it is irrefutable that the odds are stacked immeasurably against you and any children you might have, a perpetuation known as the Poverty Cycle. Denying the existence of the poverty cycle and blaming poverty solely on the working classes' decision-making is (a) wrong (b) condescending.
Having children out of wedlock is not necessarily a bad thing, though I do think it should be discouraged. It does place more financial strain on the (single?) parent(s?) but it is not always a factor which sinks families economically. There is also adoption, birth control and abortion.
Dropping out of high school isn't a particularly wise idea, I'll give you that.
Can't really defend crime either.
