RP: Boarding

The captain of the ship and several other high ranking officers await on the ship's decks, once the two vessels were aligned, a gangplank was lowered.

"Hello, I am Paladin Antonio of the Holy Kingdom of Athejia, captain of the ADV Illuminant. For what purpose do you come to our lands?"

Sea of Trendaline | 28 Jan 2109 | Just days after another run-in with foreigners, the largest fleet thus far suddenly appeared off the coast of the Lotus Islands. A local storm had limited visibility and communication in the region just a day prior, so it would a rude awakening when the massive fleet appeared just a few tens of kilometers. It would be even more of a surprise to the radar controllers on the island and in the KJ-2000 circling above when the fleet began to slowly assemble into a line and began to make their way towards the main island. Fearful of the situation, bases in the region enter a Level 3 Combat Readiness State and several fighter and strike aircraft are scrambled into the air with rather limited munitions and fuel. Several land-based anti-ship and anti-aircraft missile platforms would be activated and the nearby towns evacuated, all in preparation for the worst-case scenario. Luckily, the ships were several hundred kilometers from the nearest major population center, but the size of some of the ships present in the formation would make anyone nervous. Several destroyer squadrons were already approaching the flotilla, but being so far out at sea, it would take at least an hour for the nearest squadron to arrive. Ultimately, it fell on the land-based forces to make contact.

Still, cooler heads prevailed in this situation amongst the officer's corps, and it was decided that the troops would utilize a major civilian radio station in the region to attempt to make contact with this massive flotilla of menacing ships. A military convoy of trucks and 4x4s quickly made from the military outpost perched on a hill overlooking the sea down to the seaside village in which the station lay. Upon arriving, people were already fleeing from their homes, some in cars, others on foot. The single emergency siren blared throughout the town as the troops arrived at the radio station. Its owner seemed to have already abandoned it, leaving a spilled mug of tea and a confused cat. The troops quickly manned the equipment which was, admittedly, in a rather poor state of being. They managed to get everything running, however, and with the second lieutenant manning the microphone, they began to broadcast on all frequencies, hopeful that the station had enough power to broadcast out to the ships and that their new translation books were of good use.

Second Lieutenant Yoon: " (in Hanese) Is this thing on? Alright. Ahem. (in broken English) This is Second Lieutenant Yoon Si-woo of Xin-Fael Army. Unidentified force, please identify yourself."

In the meantime, the closest destroyer squadron, DS31 which is composed of three Type 91 guided missile destroyers (comparable to Sejong the Great-class destroyers), was making haste towards the location of the unknown fleet. It's captain, Commander Song Jeong-hui, was known to have family in the general vicinity of the region. Despite her calm demeanor, several crew members on the bridge continued to sneak glances at her only to be met with the composed face and determined eyes of their captain. The squadron was 42 minutes out from the location, and many prayed that they were not too late.

The lack of radios or any means of electronic communications among the Athejian fleet, and indeed with the rest of the country as well, meant that the broadcast fell on deaf ears aside from some minuscule interference on our own speaking crystals. As the ships drew closer to shore, their white and gold paint together with their ornamental decorations scattered about their hulls and turrets, would easily allow any onlooker to realize that they were far from the typical war fleet. The vessels would eventually slow to a quarter speed, still in their parade ranks, to announce themselves to whatever lived on the unknown shores before them. A host of the fleet's archangels would rise up from the decks and arrayed themselves in a large circle several hundred feet above even the tallest of the ships masts. There they began the incantation, and though its words were stolen by the coastal wind, magic coursed into reality nonetheless.

Starting as a faint glow between their outstretched hands, it eventually grew to a blinding mass of energy which would go bounding from one archangel to the next. In time an enormous and incredibly intricate magic circle bathed the surrounding area with its warm golden light. The fleet's Sword Saint (Admiral or General equivalent) would nod as she was informed of the spell's completion, walking outside and speaking into a crystal hanging off her necklace.

Sword Saint Piety: "Lend me your ears, those who dwell in these lands, be not afraid! We, by the grace of the great dea Jubileus, have made it to these foreign shores to break free from the shackles of isolation with knowledge of what we do not know! We, in the Armada of the Holy Order of Piety, hail from the Kingdom of Athejia, wish no harm or ill-will! We, shall remain here and await your response!"

Her words would blast out of the magic circle in the sky with absolute authority, deafening to those on the ships below, and certain to reach someone, anyone, in the land before them regardless of distance.

With the hull of the Royal Sovereign more or less drained of sea water and patched up, and the propellers operating off only two of the six mana destabilization cores which alternated in their usage to reduce strain, the Athejians would attempt to lead their escorts back home. As the ship limped along, the damage navigational system would eventually come close to their last position before the ship was disabled. In time they would run across a light flotilla, a single battlecruiser, four cruisers, and one mobile dockyard (all in one supply/repair ship), detached from the main exploratory fleet in search of the missing battleship, once the situation was explained their ships would continue to tow the Royal Sovereign and guide CSG 9 back home.

Tarrak gave a speech today concerning their new neighbors to the southeast, it is sent all across the nation including a national broadcast via magic pulse

"I speak to you, my compatriots, to tell you of a country which has recently appeared on the world stage on our borders! They are a monarchy, led by an Emperor who has the desire to transform his now small kingdom into an empire! He oppresses his people keeping them in the darkness of feudalism! of monarchism!"

He pauses as the crowds goes into an uproar filled with the fury of the righteous after a minute holding up his hands to silence them

"Revolutions begin when a determined people set out to liberate themselves from tyranny. But Tyranny persists, it will always persist where people become attached to their yokes, to their servitude. So it is with a heavy heart that I tell you that people sometimes do not wish to overthrow their oppressors and cannot be convinced with words alone. The country who I have spoke of is called Reo, and it dwells to the southeast! They will be given a warning, In 1 year they will transition to a democracy one way or another! The Revolution in Reo is imminent! So rejoice people of Reo, soon your yokes will be no more!"

Elsewhere
As the speech occurs in the Citadel, A million Soldiers fresh out of boot camp move to the border shared with Reo dynasty and a warning is issued to the Reo Government, transition to democratic government within the next year or be faced with a military intervention by the RDF-U.

Preparations begin to be made so that supplies will be ready in 1 year and the country begins to mobilize increasing conscription and arming the populace with any weapon they can get their hands on. Trucks and other forms of transport begin to be converted into Technicals, mounted with powerful machine guns, anti-tank and anti-air weaponry as a stop-gap measure until they begin producing tanks, and other fighting vehicles.

RP: A Faint Signal

Northern Akschoss Ocean | 20 November 2108 | After a moment of silence, a response was sent in return.

Captain Celeben: "You are encroaching on the waters of the Xin-Fael Federation, a multi-species democratic federation. I would like to extend my welcome to you on behalf of our nation. Might I invite you aboard our ship for a drink?"

RP: An Unexpected Passerby

Northern Akschoss Ocean | 13 September 2109 | Before the massive fleet had even reached Xin-Fael waters, reconnaissance satellites had already photographed the ships as a part of Xin-Fael's IMINT. Needless to say, Prime Minister Wei Wuxian, Ministry of Defense, and General Staff were not happy about the fully armed carrier strike force making speeding towards the island. As a precaution, a Kawasaki P-1 maritime patrol aircraft is deployed to observe the fleet once it is within 1,000 kilometers (540 nautical miles) of the Lotus Islands. Updated coordinates are constantly being fed back to a ground controller who, in turn, relays the information to missile controllers along the southwestern coastline. At all times, several anti-ship missiles and anti-ship ballistic missiles are trained on the large fleet, the purpose of their arrival unknown. Xin-Fael forces would continue to monitor the fleet's movement through the Tuilas Channel that separates the Lotus Islands from the mainland until the ships were out of striking range of the island.

Kemonomica wrote:The crew waited still in tense with the situation, Captain Serena broke a sweat as she awaited along with a few of her officers tapping their fingers on the panels until one of them broke the silence.

Evelyn: "They must be preparing their weapons, they must be, they should've known what we have said so why is it taking so long to respond, I suggest we fire the trigger first before they do,"

Serena: "Negative Evelyn, we shouldn't engage in open seas first without them firing the shots first, we sit and wait. Be on the ready for evasive maneuvers if the worst were to come," she says as she looked over the panels and to the two ships. Suddenly the radio would again speak, a sigh of relief for the crew, "Well it wouldn't hurt to have tea, at least, what you guys think?"

Hasija: "Perhaps it'll look good on your Captain's log," Commander Lieutenant replied to the Captain, Serena nods and takes turns on the microphone.

Serena: "Aye, so long as it is not too hot to melt steel, which is impossible if you get water to do that anyways, I'll be on a little boat with 2 of my seaman on board to transport me and guard me. And I hope your ship has something to lift up small boats off the sea," she replied, awaiting for a response, afterwards she would leave Commander Lieutenant Hasija in charge of the ship while she boards a little boat that will take her to one of the two ships with two of her seaman.

RP: Another Foreign Contact

Sea of Trendaline | 26 Jan 2109 | The spotters of the Zhenwu would watch as the small boat and its three occupants were lowered into the choppy sea. As they near the large missile destroyer, they can see the curious faces of Xin-Fael sailors watching their approach, all of them human. Signalers would direct the boat to the port aft of the ship where the helicopter landing pad is located. A small hoist quickly comes into view, and the crew of the Xin-Fael ship would slowly direct the boat into the lowered elevator. Once the boat is properly secured, the high pitched whir of the hoist winch would join the waves crashing against the hull of the destroyer. Captain Serena would find at least a dozen Xin-Fael naval officers and crewmen standing to at attention. Of the dozen crew in front of her, only two were armed with service pistols.

A rather short man, tanned by years on the high seas, steps forward. In rather perfect English, he would attempt to communicate with the honored guest.

Captain Yi: "Captain Serena I presume. Welcome aboard the XFNS Zhenwu. I am Captain Yi Soo-jin, the XO of this ship." The XO would quickly stand at attention and give a quick bow. "We are honored by your presence captain. If you would follow me to the commanding officer's quarters." The XO would then quickly click his boots together and turn away, expecting the captain to follow him.

Leading the foreign captain through the cramped metal hallways of the destroyer, the group would pass by many a gawking sailor. Little decorations would hang from some of the walls of the ship, but the ship was, overall, clean and rather dull as one would expect from a military vessel. It would only take a few minutes of walking before the group arrived at their destination. A little plaque outside the quarters read Commander Jiang Deng in Common and Xinese. Before entering, the XO Yi would turn to Captain Serena.

Yi: "Captain Serena, I am sorry for the terrible inconvenience, but I will have to ask your accomplices to remain outside. I would also that you hand over any weapons on your persons. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience."

RP: New Vistors

Sea of Trendaline | 28 Jan 2109 | Second Lieutenant Yoon and his squad would make several more attempts in vain to raise the ships on the radio. Panic would begin to slowly begin to grip the inexperienced troops under his command with each passing minute. *A lack of response could only mean one thing: a radio blackout, a telltale sign that this mysterious force was preparing for a sneak attack. Right?* These thoughts swam through the Second Lieutentant's mind as he analyzed the situation. "Kim, Park, you're with me. The rest of you, return to the cars," shouted the young Second Lieutenant before grabbing his rifle and running outside. The foreign vessels, which appeared as black dots on the horizon, continued to slowly grow larger. *If they were planning to attack, they wouldn't get within visual range, would they?*

"Kim, get on the radio and notify HQ of the current situation. Ask for further directions." The young private saluted and ran towards the convoy for the radio. "Park, lemme see your binoculars." Obliging, Private Park would hand his superior his set of binoculars. Taking them in hand, Second Lieutenant Yoon would bring the telescopic device to his eyes, focusing on the ships and adjusting for clarity. They were some of the most beautiful ships he had ever seen, nothing like the grey warships of the humans or elves or any other species on this island. They were truly foreign, and Yoon questioned if they were truly warships.

Private Kim would return to see Yoon gazing into the horizon through the binoculars. "Second Lieutenant," the private shouted, causing the second lieutenant jump, "HQ says to continue monitoring the situation and report anything back to them." Glaring at the private for the spook, Yoon would curtly respond "Thank you Private Kim, you may return to the convoy and inform the squad that we'll be staked out here for about an hour." Saluting, the private quickly scurries off.

DS31, in the meantime, was making good speed. The foreign fleet would soon appear on their radar screens.

CPO Rhee: "CO, we are within firing range. What are your orders?"

CO Song: "Maintain course and speed. We will give these foreigners the benefit of the doubt."

Rhee: "Aye aye captain."

Commander Song would gaze at the radar screen. *More than fifty signatures. Even if they were to engage, they would be sunk within a few minutes. As much as I dislike it, the best course of action is to maintain the status quo and see what these foreigners do.*

As the ships grew closer and closer, Second Lieutenant Yoon would spot a large number of golden specks rise into the air. Yoon watched as the specks formed some kind of shape before they began to glow. "Hey guys, there's something going on, let HQ know that..." Yoon would drift off as he witnessed the golden light grow and grow. "Something's going on, let HQ know that some things came out of the ship and have started glowing." Looking away from the binoculars, Yoon would be met with the confused faces of Private Kim and Private Park. "Oh, don't give me that look, just report it as I told you! Get going!" Private Kim would scurry off once more to report the new development.

Not even a minute later, however, a deafening and commanding voice filled the heavens, causing both the soldiers and many of the crewmen in DS31 to cower in surprise. Even Commander Song showed surprise, if not only for a moment. Chaos followed. The seasoned crewmen aboard the destroyers of DS31 would murmur amongst themselves. Sailors were a suspicious bunch and it would not take long for rumors of a godlike being within this foreign fleet quickly spread. This went on for a total of ten minutes before the calm, collected voice of Commander Song filled the intercom systems.

Song: "Men, do not waver in the face of this unknown force. Can you call yourselves sailors if you are this cowardly? You, who have faced tidebound monsters and leviathans, would cower at a mere voice? If I had known my men were so spineless, I would have jumped ship myself and swam all this way! We will continue our course and meet these foreigners for ourselves. If any sailor still fears, they can take a lifeboat and leave their honor on the ship! We would have better use of that then a fearful sailor."

Ending the transmission, Commander Song would be met with the smirking faces of her bridge crew. "Well, did I give the order to gawk? Back to work!" The crew quickly turned back to their jobs, reinvigorated.

On land, the response was far less coordinated. A few of the soldiers simply drove off, back to the base. Others cowered in their vehicles or behind buildings. Stunned, 2nd Lieutenant Yoon found himself on the ground, having fallen back in surprise. Quickly picking himself back up, he barked orders to his remaining men. "Private Kim, on the radio now! Report back to HQ and request further instructions. Private Park, find me Sergeant Kang! We're gonna need her magical expertise. The rest of you, stop panicking! Everyone, move!" The two privates quickly sprung into action as the other remaining troops slowly began to recover.

Within minutes, Private Park had returned with Sergeant Kang who was clearly shaken by the recent occurrences. "Sergeant, I'm going to need you to enhance my voice, enough to reach those ships over there. Can you do this?" Nodding timidly, Sergeant Kang would recite an incantation, calling upon the primal energy of the air to enhance the voice of 2nd Lieutenant Yoon and carry it across all the lands and seas. She would also call upon the primal energy of the stars to give the 2nd lieutenant understanding of the English language.

Returning to the cliffside overlooking the golden beaches, the 2nd Lieutenant would respond.

Yoon: (in English) "Those who hail from the Kingdom of Athejia, I am Second Lieutenant Yoon Si-woo of the Xin-Fael Army. You have entered the territorial waters of the Xin-Fael Federation. If you could meet me at this beachside town, I would like to inquire as to the purpose of your incursion."

RP: Rendezvous

Aboard the flagship ADV Transcendent, the communications center had absolutely exploded with activity as inter-vessel messages were relayed to and fro between the sailors of the various ships. Most were observations and discussions about the strange ships and flying objects that had been spotted on their scrying mirrors, these were all ignored for the most part as the operators kept the Sword Saint informed of the fleet's status. A large man clad in heavy plate armor similar to the Sword Saint's, albeit not quite as ornate, burst out of the bridge and onto the observation deck.

Paladin Bellero: "Your Eminence, the foreign vessels have long since entered range of the main batteries and Ballistics has zeroed in and locked on to their ships. The Aerobatteries together with the rest of the defensive mages are ready to intercept any potential "missiles" they might launch," he said, making use of the information that was recently given to them by another expeditionary force about foreign armaments.

Sword Saint Piety: "Well done Paladin, make sure the other vessels are kept in line, I know some of the gunnery officers have been itching to fire the shock cannons ever since those new-fangled rune-steel barrels were installed. In any case, I'm afraid that I will have to continue using your ship for this meeting on the shore."

The paladin saluted and went back inside, eventually the ship would break away from the rest of the fleet and make its way to shore. The Sword Saint touched the gem on her necklace once more to connect to the magic circle in the clouds.

Sword Saint Piety: "The ADV Transcendent shall answer these summons, an escort vessel is requested to guide our ship to this settlement you speak of."

RP: Cattle Slaughter
The arising plumes of smoke from their north quickly alerted the residents of the settlement. A small band of warriors was assembled, consisting primarily of the original group that fended off the invaders. Suspecting the smoke indicated a larger force, the war band contained more rapid fire guns and a larger group; roughly a thousand in number.

The group rushed out towards the field, howling and growling, actively alerting the foreigners to their presence. Opening fire once they were in sight.

RP: A city in fear
The smoke plumes alerted the whole town of a foreign presence and most of the residents rushed to shelter. The city garrison, a collection of gnolls whose sole job is to watch for aggression, erected barricades of logs and metal plates at the entrance roads to the towns. They were ready to fight.

The general population was mostly contained within the town’s perimeter. A few cow tenders lingered in the fields, watching the herds with a rifle and bucket in hand. The smoke and cries of dying cows would draw the attention of the handful of cattle tenders.

RP: 3rd Carpathian War
After the fall of Debrecen, Pest, and Pecs to the Rumanian-Carpathian Alliance, the war seemed to finally be coming to an end. Successful operations east and north saw the fall of the last major Magyar and Diakok cities, with one exception, Szapanta. Szapanta remained the last city of the Magyar Alliance, tucked away in the Carpathian Mountains; secluded and cutoff from the rest of Rumania. The Diakok had seemingly been broken and routed far into the Carpathians and Khust Mountains, where they were reduced to minor operations. The war has been considered a success by the Rumanian Government, which has reported about 3,000 losses and the loss of 15 air craft, 127 IFV/APCS, and 255 Trucks.

As per their agreement, the Rumanian Government met with CSDF leader Valerij Tytarenko to organize the formation of the Carpathian Republic, a semi-autonomous republic which will take control of Magyarorzag and Carpathia in order to provide better regional representation and influence. At the end of the talks, called the Timisoara Memorandum, the Republic of Carpathia was established in Debrecen, with former Governor Dmytro Voznyuk as the first President. In the agreement, the Rumanian Government permitted the Carpathians to build an armed forces, under the supervision of the Rumanain Military, of course. As of right now, the Carpathians have simply transferred their paramilitaries over to being state-sponsored militias.

Despite the war seemingly being over, the Diakok and Magyar Alliance both still exist and insurgent cells remain across the Carpathians and even after the apparent collapse of their governments they continue to fight on, carrying out attacks against the Carpathian's forces and government resources. It is for that reason, that the 4th Army and 2nd Army have both been ordered to remain in Carpathia, working with the Carpathians to prevent the return of the Diakok and Magyar Alliance.

However, unbeknownst to the Rumanians and Carpathians, the resistance has not died out, foreign support from Artaecus and new leadership as well as continued radicalization has kept the dream for Magyar Independence alive. Due to the increased radicalization, the Diakok, which is by-far the most radical and traditionalist of the groups, has absorbed the remnants of the Magyar Alliance. The new Diakok has embraced their original guerrilla, terror tactics rather than the Magyar Alliance's more conventional forms of fighting.

The aircraft’s strafing runs caught the mob off guard albeit not with their pants down. The lot of them aimed their guns skyward towards the seaplane. They quickly spread out across the field and word spreads that the invaders were retreating to the sea again.

Then came the naval artillery. The destruction that rained around them broke their resolve and forced them to retreat en masse towards the town.

Losses:

RP: New Support. Operation: Revive. (Covert)

Icewindia begins again to smuggle Magyar Alliance member Militia into Icewindia to continue Professional training and armament. With conditions that they help smuggle weapons inside themselves. They flood the Black Market with the Military Grade Weapons and begin to rely on these Milita they have trained into Professionally Trained Soldiers to smuggle Military Grade Weapons inside the Magyar Alliance. With the hopes to being a Defib to the Alliance. Icewindian Stringer Missiles, RPG's and Guns begin to be given as long as these Trained soldiers can smuggle it it. After all Plausible Deniability and after all its not strange if the Magyar use Icewindian weapons if they can buy it on the Civilian Market.

Furthermore Surviving Icewindian agents inside Magyar Alliance continue to Train Magyar Forces to be better organized. Better Guerilla tactics and even teach them how to train there own forces. Even Infiltrate deep inside Rumania to cause Mayham on there Economy and Infrastructure. However they extremely discouragement killing Civilians as they justify not the Moral High ground but rather it costs Food and Water to feed them. More resources they have to use to Repair society to feed there people the less supplies are heading to the front. More damage they do the more funding. If Civilians get killed they loose funding. However impressed by the Diakok willingness begin to try to encourage those members to infiltrate Rumania and Target the Main Target in Rumanian Lines and in Carpathia. Civilian and Military Airports to Deny the Rumanian And Carpathians bases to refuel and launch from. Destroying these sights to hurt enemy air superiority is encouraged on highest. Including hitting Aircraft production and factory buildings and spare parts storage lots. Even targetting Refineries and Fuel Depots to force Rumanians to decide if Military or Civilains should get fuel. Like they said... Icewindia wants to cause Mayham and force Rumania to make hard choices. Civilian or Military supplies.

Meanwhile Icewindian Civilian Aircraft begin to fly over again with some being legitimate Reconnaissance Aircraft disguised as Civilian Aircraft. Taking Pictures then giving it to Agents who para drop over Magyar Held Ground. Link up with the Resistance and provide Intelligence plus Training. New Propagandists also join in to help Recruit and to Keep the Dream of a Magyar Nation alive and Instill that Nationalism and Patriotism into the Youth encouraging Courageous Stories of Courage and Sacrifice to Inspire Generations of Freedom Fighters and Magyar National Identity to come. Previous Icewindian Agents in the area who were pulled out while ago are being re-inserted inside but this time with cases of Gold and Silver to gift the Magyar Alliance/Diakok with Funds for there War Effort.

Icewindia begins to try to link up with Diakok and dis-encourage Terror Tactics. In fact even trying to persuade the more moderate Factions to Resume more effective Tactics rather then Terror Tactics that lead to them being destroyed last time. Despite that they do Encourage winning over the Local Magyar Populace Support and using Guerilla tactics to wear down the Rumanian Resolve. Diakok/Magyar Alliance in the Mountains are asked by Military Observers/Advisers to gain air superiority or deny the Rumanian Airforce access through airspace in the Mountain and Construct an Large Airport. Which if they succeed. Icewindia can begin to Openly support them with tanks, Planes and alot more military Hardware. Especially money to help fund there movement.

Furthermore Icewindia asks remaining Infiltration Forces loyal to them to begin collecting Rumanian Currency for them.

Lastly Icewindia begins to reach for Businessmen loyal to the Magyar Alliance and begins to smuggle currency to fund them. Asking them to invest in the Magyar Region. Asking to "Make Magyar a Sea of Development, Jobs and prosperity" that when fighting occurs and destruction occurs "Let it be remembered it was Rumanians not the Magyar's who destroyed the land. Let Generations of the Future remember it was Rumanian Anarchists Demons who destroyed the land". This is part of the Icewindian Propaganda effort and secret investment they always wanted to do. They even start negotiations trying to convince Black market Dealers in Magyar region to help them smuggle in Hundreds of Civilian Trucks for the Magyar's to convert them into Technicals (Trucks with Machine Guns on them) as the Trucks are reliable and fuel efficient and mobile. In which Icewindia would pay the Dealers as Middle Men to sell the Trucks Cheaply to Rebel forces.
