Rusozak inhabits a large island almost the size of India, as well as a second, much smaller island. Earliest accounts of human civilization on the island date to 2000 B.C., when primitive tribesmen landed on the larger island, not progressing technologically for most of their isolated existence.

Around 1694, Colonial vessels landed and established settlements. In 50 years, they conquered the entire island, assimilated the natives, and colonized the uninhabited second island. The masters of this colony, named Rusozak in 1763, were an apathetic and abusive empire that only cared about enriching the homeland the best it could using its colony. In the late 1890's, rebellion began, lead by the charismatic Alexander Polenshiv. Polenshiv drove out the colonial masters and won independence in 1902. That same year, he was crowned King Alexander I of the Polenshiv dynasty, the same ruling family today.

Rusozak adopted a policy of isolationism, staying out of both world wars and other global conflicts. Famine caused by drought caused devestation in the early 1980's, and an inefficient government response, tied with increasing public awareness of the freedoms enjoyed by the outside world and government crackdown because of this, resulted in stagnation and failing public support of the crown that endures to this day.
