7. Reference
The Etymology of Honalulu had been lost in translation as Absukians transitioned from Proto-Kiv'nava to Modern-day Kiv'nava. Though linguists who had studied Kiv'nava believe Honalulu is a rough translation of "Sheltered Harbor". The name has been mostly used by Absukians when they arrived onto the islands.
Absukians as a species had early records tracing back to the Gelasian age, with tools, housing, and monoliths carved with Proto-Tin'vaak. An ancient language that was used by Priests, Artificers, and leaders. This language later evolved to Tin'vaak and then was slowly phased out by Proto-Kiv'nava and then Kiv'nava once Absukians made their way onto land. Tin'vaak was mostly a language that had been used underwater, with only written and sign language forms being used and rarely used orally. Thus Absukian Sign Language derives mostly from Tin'vaak as a way to communicate with deaf people.
Much of Tin'vaak had been lost in time and relegated to beliefs that the language was used by Priests to heal people of illness and repair nature, for Artificers to embed weapons, tools, or objects with wards or magical properties. Though this belief is mostly relegated to communities with esoteric beliefs or ideas of the world.
Around 110,000 to 75,000 years ago mass migration of Absukians was believed to have occurred and the eventual settlement of Honalulu around 75,000 - 70,000 years ago. With only Aiponii, Tyimotti, Larmou, and Ag'astu being the first provinces or islands to be settled. Rothenake and Niniha'a were the first settlements. Following Absukian settlements propping up on the Northwestern coast.
The Absukians were mostly tribal nations at this time, Absukians relied on fishing and hunting and were able to create semi-sedentary communities. No rudimentary agricultural methods at this time though domestication of animals started around 25,000 BC. They continued further expansion into other islands such as Ashore, Avaline, and Lusivu, smaller settlements propped up in Mei, Basmouth, Kainu'u, Vazor, Ioke, Ho'okwlw, and Ianeke during this time though it would take time for Absukians to adopt to the rainforest climates within those areas.
The introduction of fire sparked a mass lifestyle shift in the tribes from being nomadic tribes into tribes that settled and the Huang-Yan taught them rudimentary agricultural methods, building pit dwellings, cooking meat, harvesting food, pottery, and other things. Tribes began to expand and conquer as they transitioned from a nomadic lifestyle to a sedentary lifestyle, for their people to prosper they had needed to conquer and invade others to gain more land and harvest more food for their people and their growing tribes.
[STILL IN REWRITING PROCESS]
In 2000 - 1900 BC 3 civilizations arose in Southern Honalulu, the Samijiyon Civilization, Mutsu Civilization, and the Yanbian Civilization, nomadic tribes existed in central Honalulu and other areas such as the Dornod Nomads and Absukians began to rebuild their civilizations after the Huang-Yan Empires left. Agriculture was later picked up by the Absukians in the 1900-1800 BC and within the 17th century BC civilizations began their bronze age. Around the 17-13th centuries, Civilizations became Empires and conquered one another in the South. Until the 12th Century the eruption of Māhukona on the island of Niʻihau led to Absukian mass migration and attacks on the Southern Kemonomimi settlements, civilizations, and Empires. Leading to the Late Bronze Age Collapse of Honalulu.
The 12th-9th Century had been decades of struggles and collapses within the Southern fertile lands of Honalulu as the newly settled Absukians raided civilizations and records along with histories had been burned during this time.
Around the 8th century arose an Eastern Absukian Empress named Kala'li of the Makala family who founded the city of Dakari in 750 BC. Her Imperial reign lasted from 782-328 BC and the founding of the 1st Faretuka Empire in 505 BC. She led Faretuka to its first victory against the Honyama civilization in the west and began the Republics expansion through the Eastern of Honalulu until the end of her reign which was followed by Emperor Akahele of the Makala family whose reign lasted from 328 BC - 72 AD greatly expanding the Faretuka Empire to the Southern coast. However, his reign would be short as other royal families sought to take power and decided to assassinate him and the entire Makala family. A succession of Emperors and Empresses led to the slow split and collapse of the Faretuka Empire from 72-182 AD which led to the Dark Age or the Feudal Era and the collapse of the Faretuka Empire into smaller kingdoms and larger Empires.
During this time Kingdoms arose and Kings and Queens arose depending on whether they could feed their peasants or not. Kemonomimi Kingdoms had a more strict hierarchy where Royalty was on top, then the Nobility, then the Military, then the Peasants. Their grip on the peasantry was rather strong as they were able to levy high taxes on peasants who traded crops or goods from outside and were able to control their subjects with these taxes. Though this mainly was practiced in the Southern and Western coasts where land trade was easier to control and lands were fertile. Kemonomimi who resided in the Northern and Eastern coasts utilized boats and were more secluded due to winters or rough terrain that it was hard for kingdoms to levy taxes on their subjects, making the peasantry within those regions more wealthy.
Absukian Kingdoms on the other hand had a hard time levying taxes on their subjects. As it was easier to levy taxes on land trade, it was rather hard or impossible to levy taxes on sea trade due to the aquatic nature of their species. The Absukian Aristocracy in the Southern and Western shores of Honolulu were more wealthy than their Northern or Eastern shore counterparts.
Peasants within the Northern and Eastern coasts were more empowered than those in the South and the West. Though due to the scarcity of food and resources in the North, Absukian pirates became a thing around the 8th-13th century where Absukian settlements in the Niʻihau Island and the Northern coast of Kauaʻi began to raid the West and Southern Kingdoms and settlements for food, slaves, and other goods.
The Dark Ages became truly dark when the 14th century arrived when the Dornod Nomads started to expand quickly and rapidly across Honalulu, besieging settlements and capturing kingdoms. Which led to mass migrations of people further down the South to areas that the new Dornod Khaganate didn't control. Which led to crowded cities, poor sanitation, an increase in homelessness, and plagues.
Cholera and other bacterial infections and viruses plagued cities and decreased the island's population significantly. Collapsing kingdoms and settlements again, the land the Dornod Khaganate's had gathered would fracture after the death of Khagan Toragana, into several Khaganates while Kingdoms in the South and Western shores would have their pyramids reshaped as the peasantry became more empowered.
Around the early modern period Honalulu would have more trade interactions with the outside world as Kingdoms would have trouble levying heavy taxes on trade due to a shortage of manpower within their kingdoms. Inventions from the outside world flowed into Honalulu and out of Honalulu, with notable trade relations with Brennus and Candain during this time while Ryuvir had been in isolation.
The population grew from the 14-17th century as advances in science and new inventions increased education, health, sanitation, crop production, construction material, tools, etc.
It wasn't until the 17th century when ideas such as Nationalism began to take hold which had spread across the island. In which the formation of nations began to take hold in Honalulu. Northern and Eastern Absukian royal families had to give up power to the empowered peasants along with Absukians that resided on the Ni'ihau island. While Kemonomimi Royalties slowly ceded power to the peasants. Two national identities thus formed from the introduction of nationalism. With Absukians referring to their people and the inhabitants of the island chains of Honalulu as Honulite(s)/Honaluluan(s)/Honaluan(s). While the Kemonomimi referred to their people and the inhabitants of the island chains of Kemonomica as Kemonomimi/Kemonomican(s).
Border conflicts between these several nations with varying identities occurred around the coasts of Honalulu from the 17-20th century and the steady progress. Eventually, civil war broke out in one of the Holds in Kemonomica due to the royalty stopped ceding power to the peasantry and began to take back power. Which led to a Socialist rebellion and the rise of left-wing nationalism and sentiment. Thus leading to the creation of the Socialist Federation of Kemonomica in 1922.
Meanwhile, Absukians were split in their identities with Northern Absukians residing in their nation known as Kingdom of Aiponii, Eastern Absukians residing in their nation known as the Republic of Tyimotti, Southern Absukians residing in their nation known as the Kingdom of Larmou, and the Western Absukians residing in two different nations, the Republic of Niʻihau and the Kingdom of Ag'astu.
[TL:DR]
Eventually Kemonomica's relations with the Absukian nations decreases as time goes on and eventually cumulates into a war between Kemonomica and the Absukian nationstates from 2186 to 2194. Weakening the Socialist Federation and thus collapses in 2210 as the leader is exiled to Ryuvir. Absukians form a united nation known as the Federal Republic of Honalulu and take control of much of the island. Though discrimination upon Kemonomimi ran rampant and eventually was forced by Brennus and/or Ryuvir to sign a Declaration of Sapients Rights and to enforce it within their nation.
Honalulu forms a military alliance known as Heiwa in 2207 and eventually reformed it in 2256 into the Radiant Entente of Kalrania after it subsumed the Serenity Trading Organization in order to consolidate its alliances as the worlds geopolitical climate shifts.

Talus Pantheon is a polytheistic animistic religion. Its beliefs encompass the presence of spirits in objects such as the waves and the sky. Talus Pantheon has 4 gods:
- Kāne is the God of creation
- Kanaloa is the God of the ocean
- Ku is the God of war and male pursuits
- Lono is the God of peace, rain, and fertility
There are fourty Ka hā (male gods) and four hundred Ke kanahā (Gods & Goddesses), Na ‘unihipili (Spirits), & Na ‘aumākua (Guardians), with one notable goddess being Pele, Goddess of volcanos & destruction. Talus Pantheon has birthed many Absukian values, including respect for 'aina (land), which stems from an emphasis on respect for Lono. As well as respect for kai (ocean) which stems from the emphasis on respect for Kanaloa.Religion has also directed the response to volcanic eruptions and lava flows. When a volcano erupts, Absukians believe this is a sacred process of Kalrania being reborn. This is a time to pray, sing, and give offerings to Pele.
Absukians modern language derived from Proto-Tin'vaak. The Kiv'navan alphabet has 13 letters: five vowels: a e i o u (each with a long pronunciation and a short one) and eight consonants: he ke la mu nu pi we ʻokina (a glottal stop). Kiv'nava has five short and five long vowels, plus diphthongs. Proto-Kiv'navan had no written language prior to coming on land except for petroglyph symbols. The modern Kiv'navan alphabet is based on the Old Etr script. Kiv'navan words end only in vowels, and every consonant must be followed by a vowel. The Kiv'navan alphabetical order has all of the vowels before the consonants. Owing to extensive allophony, Kiv'nava has more than 13 phones. Although vowel length is phonemic, long vowels are not always pronounced as such even though under the rules for assigning stress in Kiv'nava, a long vowel will always receive stress.
