Consumption of Person (Cannibalism) Act, 2018
Enacted 28 April 2018Part 1 - Objective
The objectives of this Act are
1. To restrict and deter the consumption of human flesh.
2. To define the circumstances in which cannibalism may be accpetable.
3. To ensure appropriate punishment for cannibalism.
Part 2 - Definitions
1. Cannibalism is defined as the knowing and wilful consumption of human flesh or blood.
2. Self-Cannibalism is defined as the knowing and wilful consumption of ones own flesh or blood.
Part 3 - Offences
1. Any person who undertakes cannibalism is guilty of an offence.
2. Cannibalism is punishable by imprisonment for a period of not less than 5 years.
3. Self-cannibalism is not punishable by imprisonment.
Part 4 - Defences
1. Should a person be found guilty of an offence, an appropriate defence to a violation of this Act is that the action was undertaken as the only apparent means of survival under extreme life-threatening conditions.
2. Cannibalism occurs regardless any personal contract(s). Should a person be found guilty of an offence, it is not an appropriate defence to a violation of this Act that an agreement in favour of cannibalism exists between parties.
