i have updated the hymn of the week as the past one was a few years old
O God,
you sent our Savior to become truly human
and suffer death on the cross as an example of humility and patience
to be imitated by the human race.
Mercifully grant that we may be worthy
to have the assurance and the fellowship
of his resurrection;
through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever.
Amen.

We believe it is best to close our embassies with your region due to the inactivity of this region, our new embassy policy, and our changes in a transition between the past and future of our regional government. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
P.S. The prior Treaty of Friendship will remain in effect until the end of the month.
Can you respond to your telegrams
So, this was mostly inevitable of course, but due to the inactivity of this region as well as the fact that my political views no longer align with that of religion, I have made the decision to leave the United Christian Empires of the West entirely. While it was fun to be here, times have changed and so we must adapt to this change. You will probably be wondering: "Will we ever cross paths again?" Well, all I can say is that only time will tell. Farewell, friends.
farewell
All Powerful God,
We honor today those men and women—
Our sons and daughters,
Husbands and wives,
Fathers, brothers, sisters, mothers—
Who have laid down their lives for their country.
Loving Lord, bless them forever in Your eternal peace.
Let the sounds of strife, the cries of battle, the wounds of war
be calmed for all eternity in Your loving and endless grace.
Let these great warriors find rest at last,
Ever reminded that we who are left behind
Cherish their spirit, honor their commitment,
send them our love,
and will never forget the service that they gave.
Amen.

O God, Protector of all people and nations,
protect the people of Israel
from the violence and evil of others.
Keep them safe from the weapons of hate and destruction
and guard them against the deeds of evildoers.
Grant them your protection and care
in tranquility and peace.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Dear Lord, I give to you all the members of my family. You know them all so well and love them all too. Lord, I ask that you would cover us with a shower of hope.
Father, a hope that draws us together to work out our differences, and that helps us to celebrate together and care for one another.
A hope that rides like a banner in our lives and watches over us wherever we may go.
A hope that overcomes adversity and gathers strength to overcome.
A hope that guides us and gives us a vision for our future alone and together.
Lord give us hope filled with love, and which fuels faith.
A hope that breathes peace.
May our family live in you
Underneath your promises.
Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke:
Jesus said to his disciples:
‘See that you are dressed for action and have your lamps lit. Be like men waiting for their master to return from the wedding feast, ready to open the door as soon as he comes and knocks. Happy those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. I tell you solemnly, he will put on an apron, sit them down at table and wait on them. It may be in the second watch he comes, or in the third, but happy those servants if he finds them ready. You may be quite sure of this, that if the householder had known at what hour the burglar would come, he would not have let anyone break through the wall of his house. You too must stand ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.’
Reflection:
Who is in our hearts? In another gospel verse, Jesus speaks about where our hearts are, there also our treasure. What we love occupies our entire being. As Christians, importantly as Catholics, it is important that our hearts are directed towards God in all things. God in all things, and be totally His. Because God made us, and God did all the effort to bring us back to Him. Saint Augustine writes in his confessions that our hearts are restless until they rest in God.
One day, Jesus will come back to ask us to follow Him into heaven. And what we have built for ourselves, what habits we have set our hearts while we live determines our answer. A total and complete yes, as the saints have did (even to the point of martyrdom, physically or spiritually) made Jesus smile and led them to heaven. A yes, although partial and still holding on to the earth, as the souls are, made the waters of mercy flow from His Most Sacred Heart and led them to purgatory that their yes, their holiness may be perfect; our weakness be supplied. A total rejection of God, in pursuit of the things of this world (especially those that harm others and inspire hatred, discord, and animality) led the poorest of the poor sinners to hell.
Our decision starts now, at least, we start building them up now. All of us, except two born in this world, are weak and sinful in nature and that is true. We then must not despair, because despair is pride and pride is yuck. We must hope, because we belong not to ourselves but to God. God can transform us and not any other man or machine, only God. We are subject to none but God so our hope is in God because God is already loving. I remember watching a preacher and he said, "If we fail, God already wins." Let us imitate the virtue of abandonment and charity to God as we walk on our pilgrimage.
Faithfully, let us wait for the Lord. Again and again, in peace let us pray to the Lord.
All-powerful God,
increase our strength of will for doing good
that Christ may find an eager welcome at his coming
and call us to his side in the kingdom of heaven,
where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
May the Prince of Peace, reign in our hearts. Amen.
In the name of the Father, ✠
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.

Loving God,
Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings,
and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children,
and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake.
Amen.
