It can be used as a means to ballpark where you stand politically, but it really shouldn't be taken seriously for anything other than that.

I would recommend doing some reading on the stances you hold, and discuss them with people with a political education.

This. Lmao I've taken it twice and gotten pure anarcho-leftism and totalitarian leftist. Personally I identify right in the middle of the line. Government gud, community gud, non-schmeckle based society with freedom of personal liberties and expectation of group responsibilities is based.

I think what SAFT was trying to say was what social conservative values do you hold? (Correct me if I’m wrong SAFT lol) but still I wanna know.

Since all of you were so kind as to share what you personally believe in and what some of the common beliefs are as leftists, I think that it's only polite/customary that I share some of my personal beliefs which I will mark as a spoiler for anyone doesn't care to see. (It's fine if you don't care)

What do I see as good?
I personally think that low taxes, a strong military, overall good civil rights and liberties to everyone regardless of their beliefs and appearance, equal protection under the law are all good things.

What do I see as bad?
I personally believe that socialism isn't a very good, there's a common trend of communist/socialist countries that seem to be plagued with corruption, (not to say that Democratic countries don't have any they certainly do) although corruption does not seem as wide spread in most democratic nations.

Russo-Ukraine War:
I think that what the Russians are doing is horrible and unjustified, the genocide against civilians, bombing hospitals (Maternal hospitals as well), and the lack of emotion or care over killing children is all awful, although as it continues to drag on I hate to say that Russians have a chance of winning based on population difference.

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict:
I'm neutral on this topic because I don't follow news on it.

Best Economic Ideology?
I believe that Capitalism is the best, every ideology will have its ups and downs, all socialist, communist, and Capitalist countries will have social divides when it comes to wealth. I think a mixed market is good because it eliminates some of the problems that arise with totally free markets. Having some government regulation on products can eliminate some competitions between companies and people have a free choice of what they want to buy.

Gun Control:
I believe that the common person should be allowed to own a firearm with proper licensing and training. I firmly believe in the "Guns don't kill people, people kill people". Adding more restrictions on certain firearms doesn't solve the gun crime problem. Banning firearms would be unconstitutional and just like prohibition a black market would arise and just cause more problems. I do believe that people who use firearms for the wrong reasons puts a bad image on lawful gun owners. The reason the Founding Fathers wanted the common person to be allowed to own firearms to have "a standing and ready militia in case of invasion from a foreign threat.".

I know we all have different beliefs but I do believe that a mutual understanding of the other sides ideals and beliefs might help the social divide that comes with political parties.

Number one I am deeply religious as you guys might know, answering that different Religons should be thoughts in school for greater exposure. I am a nationalist and kinda like Ceremonial Mornarchy. And the last one will get me cancelled here, I support Gay and Lesbians but I am very scared of the trans and other gendered people plus the fact that there are gender neutral toilets in the US

Gender neutral toilets in the US? Are you talking about the family toilets with only one toilet?

Also, this region fiercely defends trans (which is a good thing) and might ban people who are scared of trans.

What scares you about trans and non-binary people? What’s wrong with gender neutral and single-use restrooms?

Use common sense, if you think you'd be canceled for it, why say it? And whats wrong with trans people and other genders. They are as much of a human as you and me.

MLoP still has the same number of endos as Asahi. Make it different!

Gloucester Clty wrote:MLoP still has the same number of endos as Asahi. Make it different!

I think a few people unendorsed Asahi and I have no idea why. Asahi had 110 endorsements but now they have 105. To everyone who unendorsed Asahi and to every WA nation in general, please endorse/re-endorse United Asahi.

lol, the god in my country has no gender and thus is canonically nonbinary (as am I)

Nghft Syhah wrote:lol, the god in my country has no gender and thus is canonically nonbinary (as am I)

There's no motherland. There is no fatherland. Land is land!

Firstly, I heard stories about toilets with multiple stalls in America being for all genders. I also wonder how can you identify as anything other than male and female! That does not make sense! Plus I heard of the sexual abuse cases happening in female toilets with a trans women. Also what god is your country?
Do I have to exile myself now for that?

New Kunskil in regards to bathrooms, making one gender-neutral is pretty reasonable as the only difference between men’s and women’s bathrooms is the presence or absence of urinals. Regarding sexual abuse, same-sex abuse exists too, so gender-neutral spaces are not intrinsically more dangerous. As for other genders, it is possible for a human being to not entirely identify as one gender or another, and other genders in some form are accepted parts of several cultures. It is late for me, other members of the region will be able to explain it better.

I live in the United States. I have never encountered a unisex bathroom with multiple stalls. I have never seen a news report of a trans person sexually harassing anyone in the toilet. I know and am friends with transgender people. Despite that, I have never knowingly used the bathroom at the same time as a transgender person. Edit - I'm sure I have used the bathroom at the same time as a trans person, but I would have no way of knowing. I do not intend to look into a closed bathroom stall that someone is currently using.

I also used to not understand trans identity. Then I learned that some babies are born intersex - what used to be called "hermaphrodite" - and doctors & parents perform surgery to assign their gender. I believe sometimes the doctors & parents might sometimes get it wrong. Also, gender is more than your sex organs - People have been trans as long as there have been people.

Eunuch priests of classical antiquity "have been interpreted by some scholars as transgender or third-gender. The trans-feminine kathoey and hijra gender roles have persisted for thousands of years in Thailand and the Indian subcontinent, respectively. In Arabia, khanith (like earlier mukhannathun) have occupied a third gender role attested since the 7th century CE. Traditional roles for transgender women and transgender men have existed in many African societies, with some persisting to the modern day. North American Indigenous fluid and third gender roles, including the Navajo nádleehi and the Zuni lhamana, have existed since pre-colonial times." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender_history Wikipedia

As you can see, it does not matter what god your country is, trans and gay people exist and always have. It is not shameful, just a difference like being left handed or a little hairier than someone else. I hope I have helped.

New Kunskil wrote:snip

In one of my university's buildings (in Manchester, UK), the only toilets are unisex, with 2 rows of cubicles. Nobody I spoke to about it felt uncomfortable at any time and I asked pretty much everyone in my group as it's not something I've ever encountered before coming from rural Ireland.

Gender and sex are two different things. The World Health Organisation defines them like this:
- Sex refers to “the different biological and physiological characteristics of males and females, such as reproductive organs, chromosomes, hormones, etc.”
- Gender refers to "the socially constructed characteristics of women and men – such as norms, roles and relationships of and between groups of women and men. It varies from society to society and can be changed.

It's difficult for cisgender people to understand the trans and/or enby experience. I'm cis and have known many transgender and non-binary people of various orientations and no matter what questions I ask them or what information they provide, I can never truly empathise. I can sympathise as I am queer so understand the societal backlash but I can never "feel" trans or non-binary. It would be the same (I think) as a white person trying to empathise with people of colour in America (or any other white-majority country). We can all understand racism, and abhor it, and sympathise with comrades who have experienced it but I don't think anyone who hasn't experienced racism can properly empathise.

Also, as Ebenia pointed out above, transgender people have existed for millenia so this isn't a new phenomenon. The media is just choosing to vilify our trans comrades now as the western zeitgeist moves farther culturally left.

I don't understand what you mean by "what god is your country" so I can't respond to that.

I'm very tired as it is 8:42 in the morning right now where I am and I haven't slept yet so maybe this is all incoherent rambling that I'll need to correct once I go to bed but I hope it's useful regardless.

Unity in Diversity, comrade.

I am always confused about why religion has so much issues with the LGBTQIA+ community. While I am personally not religious, most religion preach about love, tolerance, and helping all people of all background. If we are to focus on the Christian religion as I am most familiar with this religion, Jesus did not discriminate people due to immutable characteristics like race/ gentiles. I also do not understand if God is all loving and powerful will God created a group people just to face marginalization and scorn. In addition, while there are many denomination of Christianity are not affirming of the LGBTQIA+ community, there are many who affirms and welcomes the queer community. Maybe most of the "religious" backlash towards the LGBTQIA+ community is more with personal politics or worldview and less with the actual scripture as there are so many interpretations and translations of the same text.

As to your comment about crime/ abuse, LGBTQIA+ people especially our friends in the transgender community are much more likely of being victims of crime than committing it. There are so many stats on this.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/epidemic-anti-transgender-violence-highlighted-new-report/story?id=105036934
https://www.salon.com/2023/06/06/criminologists-baseless-anti-trans-claims-are-fueling-adoption-of-harmful-laws_partner/

The "bathroom" issue is not a real problem but just a talking point in the political culture wars. As per the salon article, "No reliable data supports the argument that transgender people commit violent crimes at higher rates than cisgender men and women. In fact, transgender people are more than four times as likely to be the victim of a crime as cisgender people... The criminological research is clear that anti-trans laws do not help the people they are claimed to protect. In fact, these laws inflict harm on people who are even more vulnerable."

Love thy neighbor as thyself. As An tAontas Gaelach stated above, "We can all understand racism, and abhor it, and sympathise with comrades who have experienced it but I don't think anyone who hasn't experienced racism can properly empathise." We should embrace the diversity in our community. This is why Star Trek is so cool. "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations."
