Cherries taking on Crystal Palace at 6:45 GMT. Could potentially hop over Chelsea with a win. Solanke is one hat trick away from passing Haaland for top goal scorer in the Premier League.

Santa 'would be' a comrade, if he wasn't the facade for our parents' GDPs/charitiness ratio: he wears red, even if it was a commercial stunt for Coke;
he has a lush beard and stach that surely must reasonably resemble daddy Marx;
he would equally distribute the value of global production to the masses' prole, indistinctely;
he would have elves working for him, but on a whole year span for just 24 hours of global' products distibution (which does himself with his own way of transportarion);
his reindeers must be very well fed, cared for and healthy if they would fly and reach those speeds around the world, survive for the next years Christmas-es, and also be the same reindeers since... ever. And of course they are the greenest way of travel, duh.

If Santa is a comrade for his beard, is anyone with a beard like that a true comrade?

Dzien dobry, Towarsz!

Well done by Bournemouth to beating Crystal Palace. Will take a West Ham level relegation to send the Cherries down. Go BMouth and great job to Justin Kluivert for his goal.

Anyone know a puzzle solver for this wonder thing? I'm too hungover for sudoku right now lol

Guys! I am constructing the slime palace! Any contributions would be greatly appreciated, especially from high level members or the TLA government! Thanks! I only generate one resource per puzzle so contributions are mandatory.

I have built my own wonder too, the Green-ish Lungs of Midterra
Need help building, crafting etcetera: I've got resources, have some perks on wood, knowledge and chemicals, and crafted bunch of things... but I dunno where to go with them, what to build... would be rad to have a hand or two and learn together!

I would apply for you to appoint me as a builder, but I am new to this and don’t really know how it works either.

But I bet the TLA cabinet and even the secretary could help us

What would you like to know?

Just like the basic stuff, what do you see as bad, what do you see as good, opinion on current world events like for example: The Russo-Ukraine War or the Israeli-Palestinian War, what you think is the best type of economic ideology, gun control, etc.

I'm trying to make a wonder that is just a big ol valley with streams and animals and free amenities (tents, food, water). Much of the food and water can be gathered from the valley.

The issues are answered differently from people across leftist spectrums, and vary from person to person. Are the generalisations that can be made, sometimes yeah, but they are more complicated than saying all leftists think all of these things. If that makes sense. Economic ideology you mainly find a rejection of capitalism is one pretty blanket rule you’ll find but even then some social democrats support some aspects of capitalism.

Uh, what exactly do you mean by “a bit socially conservative”?

Super 3arth wrote:Just like the basic stuff, what do you see as bad, what do you see as good, opinion on current world events like for example: The Russo-Ukraine War or the Israeli-Palestinian War, what you think is the best type of economic ideology, gun control, etc.

My personal opinion on all these is the following:

Gun control: Severe control on guns. Restricted to military and law enforcement
Russo-Ukrainian War: Fully support Ukraine
Israeli-Palestinian War: I'm Neutral on this one

The best type of Ideology: Democratic Socialism. I do not agree with autocracy and prefer a democratically elected government. I think a two-party system is a drag, as I live in the U.S. but personally support the Democratic Party.

Read MLOP's contribution before this;

I'll cover a few of the things, but the world is big and it's pointless for me to try to mention every single thing so I'll stay brief.

-what do you see as bad

In a general sense, most if not all of the world's issues can be traced in some way to the capitalist system. Things like poverty, crime, wars, etc.

-what you see as good

We believe in systems that benefit all of society, not just the rich or the able. So, again generally welfare systems, mutual aid, etc. Anything that spreads wealth and alleviates inequalities.

-Russo-Ukraine War

This issue split the left when it started. So all I'll say is it's not the best thing to be happening, and views on it are extremely varied. Don't expect different leftist or Socialist ideologies to agree on this topic.

-Israeli-Palestinian War

It isn't a war. A war would assume that Palestine as a nation was using an army to counter the Israeli nation's army. In reality, Israel is using its military to systematically exterminate Palestinian civilians. By every definition of the term, it's a genocide.

-Economic Ideology

There are a few different interpretations of what a socialist economy should look like. But we can sum to two poles. At one end there are people who want the total abolition of all things economic, and at the other you'll find people who want to ease into the preferred socialist economy. The end goal is a moneyless society where everything is distributed to where it is needed without the need for compensation.

-Gun Control

This can be a hot-button topic. But in a general sense, leftists are pro-gun. There are, of course, anti-gun leftists. But they're usually the minority in serious leftist spaces. I am a firearms engineer with a special interest in how politics and guns interact, I'd be willing to answer questions about it in DMs.

Super 3arth wrote: - snippity snoop -

there's a lot of different little branches of leftism, but i'll do my best to summarize it. at the very very core of it, it's about taking power/resources from the few (as in the wealthy) and bringing it to the many (you and i, silly fellas who don't own a factory).

this means a nice leftist govt would focus on helpin out even the poorest and most discarded members of society, the people our current system teach us to fear and be disgusted at. the reason leftists dislike (or want to reform) capitalism is that capitalism just ain't built in a way where power and resources are used to benefit society as a whole rather than a small circle of the very rich.

this does also mean a lot of leftists (if not all) believe in societal reform like anti-racism and pro-lgbtq action, bc it's taken a stupidly long time for us to realize "oh snap they're human too!" most if not all leftists are anti-imperialism, but many ain't anti-war. a lot of us believe in liberation > peace and that no one is free from oppression and exploitation until everyone is.

hope that helps! i'm sure that doesn't cover every little nook & cranny of leftism, and i may have made a wee mistake somewhere here, but it's all i got rn!

in my opinion the russo-ukraine war is an illegal and horrible invasion done by russia which should be condemned worldwide, but in terms of the israeli-palestinian war im neutral as both israel and hamas have done bad stuff during the war.
my best type of economic ideology is market socialism and in terms of gun control i believe it should be strengthened

A little late but imo left wing values are inherently about personal and collective freedoms. It's important to note that freedom can be quite contradictory. I believe in the freedom of speech, but also the freedom from hate speech and bullying. I believe in the freedom of assembly and group identity, but I also believe in the freedom from organized facism. One's personal freedoms are something to be safeguarded, so long as it doesn't harm the freedoms of the society. Most of all, I believe that democracy is a historically leftist principle.
tl;dr be crime do gay

As you may have seen here, us leftists, as rightist do, have wide differences on various topics and positions.

Usually, the common theme is the betterment of society from the last ones up, in an active and direct way, instead of the opposite direction rightist have of bettering society from the top ones down, in an indirect and convoluted way... or else, bettering society for a few elite that are, or may get to, the aforementioned top.

My own opinion, and maybe general one, on war is, of course, to rather have peace when it is possible and sustainable.
As a leftist, and as said before by others, peace is not submissiveness to invaders, attackers, genociders and so forth: Liberation has the priority on Peace.
On the Russo-Ukrainian one, I stand with ukrainian people attacked by Putin's army, with the ukrainians that are obliged to fight them, for their own lives or for the lives of others, as well as with the russian people in that same army that has to follow Putin's plan in fear of retorsions, or those russians that has to endure and struggle the national sanctions and unstable economy for their own government's actions.
On the palestinians genocide by the terrorist colonial state of Israel, and on the Hamas civil terrorism, I do not have to pronunciate more: the words I have used for these should well express my baseline... though I underline my ideal support for Palestine and its people's liberation from Israel's long oppression.

My economic stance is some sort of decentralised socialist one, so a collectivised, moneyless, networked distribution of goods and services based on local and single demand, with, of course, a clear focus on environmental sustainability for the industrial production and distribution chain.

Gun-control for me should be quasi-total: firearms are only usable by domestic security and special defence agents, or by common people thoroughly and frequently tested, phisically, mentally and physiologically, in the instances permitted by law or in well defined and interpreted circumstances. Non-lethal intended and designed, self-defence way of protections should obviously be permitted for anyone, but be well regulated.

Hope that helps for your collection of what makes us leftists and clear your doubts on it!

I built Ebenia along the principles I'd like to see in the government I live in.

Government should serve & provide for all of the taxpayers and the land that make up the nation before any others.

Please check out my factbooks for more details if you have time. (Also, let me know if the 90s scifi show references do anything for ya.)

New Kunskil wrote:As in I took the Political compass quiz and I am left in economic and a bit to the social conservative side

the political compass isn't the best metric for your actual political beliefs.

It can be used as a means to ballpark where you stand politically, but it really shouldn't be taken seriously for anything other than that.

I would recommend doing some reading on the stances you hold, and discuss them with people with a political education.
