He wasnt a leader at the wrong time; anytime is a great time for socialism, rather he was the wrong leader at the right time.

All his policies caused the unravelling of the Union and he isnt a victim of Yeltsin and company, he is their enabler. None of his policies needed to be implemented yet he did implement them.

Political

He centralised power around him by making himself "president" he literally wielded more power than every other Soviet before him which isnt within the lines of Marxism-Leninism with our ideal on collective leadership. This gave him the power to make more and more changes in the constitution and society with little room for opposition, he removed our right to recall any of our delegates in the Soviets, or anywhere else, and also made his position invincible to bottom-up initiatives he might as well titled himself Supreme god of the Union.

All his reforms were basically economic liberalisation and dissociation of the government and people, he literally made a barrier between government and people before that time governance was a simple as you signing up and bieng on ballots, but he somehow saw this as undemocratic. He literally made it impossible for most to join governance or to take part in it, thus eliminating the right as people we had to change policies, he made a real political elite which was now distinct in e very way possible.

He removed the vanguard party from its position as a guide of the revolution and the peoples state, he encouraged other parties to form including the very nationalist minority movements that he let break down the nation.

Economy

His economic policies brought shortages of almost all goods, led to a quality decline in produce, lax regulations caused an upsurge in pollution, his cooperatives caused an massive social change in the nation with cooperative owners now increasing in financial powers which most people found as a violation in their way of life, the nation and all else. Exports increased yet we couldn't feed ourselves, the uncertainty due to his policies were unforeseen in the Union even during the war people had hope and were optimistic but now since the government (which you now couldn't participate in) was the one causing their shortcomings all hope fell into an abyss of nothingness. But nothing was worse than those foreign companies like fast food restaurants which started taking the little we had away to western nations and profiting on our misery, they also required less pay for more work and no workers unions.

The inequalities destroyed all egalitarian ideals which had now been a part of the nation as long as anyone could remember, these caused crime which all had now characterised as something that happens in foreign nations and never at home.

Income taxes appeared and could be from 0.5% to as high as 95% for now privately owned enterprises and people which destroyed economic activities and the way people spent their leisure doing, people now had less time off work and the time out of work was spent worrying about stuff which was foreign before Gorbachev, like were to attain food, gas etc.

He cut out infrastructure projects from budgets and plans, killed economic planning which included the supercomputers which were bieng researched on and were to be used to streamline planning and increase efficiency whilst increasing bottom up input in 1988. He removed most of the space program from any work, forced information selling between key industries and the west, and scrapped the plans for Space based solar power which was supposed to help along with wind energy to remove fossil fuels in energy production whose test phases were supposed to be launched in 1993.

Society

All of society was in chaos, classes had begun to show, police were now corrupt and functioned as if in a capitalist state, crimes were in constant increase and those like theft were rather new concepts to everyone and yet became a part of normal life, cooperative owners had so much more wealth than others that it reminded people of tsarism. When people couldn't even eat he was out holidaying around, what sort of a peoples leader was he?

He knew nothing of socialism and made up crises where there wasnt, no problems that couldn't be solved by more socialisation existed yet he still did all the things that he knew would help anyone, he is the biggest evil of the last century Gorbachev put into suffering more 400 million people and wreacked an unchecked American force onto the global south that's affected billions. He was truly the worst leader anyone could ask for, he made a lot of people wonder if god existed because a just bieng couldn't let such an injustice happen now people like my father are convinced that the devil exists but not God.

Nothing good came from him and no good was intended, we need justice on his crimes.
Gorbachev has no defense.

The only real good he ever did was to teach us to never let revisionism take root, we now clearly know the consequences.
