At this point in time the USSR did not have many troops on the border with them and wasn't really focused on dealing with that.

However with the significant military buildup occurring the USSR feels that there is no other choice in the matter and will begin a subsequent military buildup in return.

Extremely early in the morning while most of the equestrian soldiers would likely be sleeping the Red Army would bring a large amount of armored divisions to the Border mainly consisting of hammer and Tesla main battle tanks.
They also brought with some plenty of self-propelled artillery batteries and necessary combat engineer brigades that would be used to destroy fortifications if they decide to go over the border for whatever reason.

Along with it for the first time they might actually see Soviet aircraft begin flying around and most of the Soviet Vehicles appear to be bursting with heavy weapons and firepower.
Red Army troops begin setting up semi-permanent fortifications On the Border

The build up of Red Army troops would be caught by sensors within the Equestrian fortifications. Leading to widespread concerns about a potential invasion by the USSR. Immediately Equestrian RC planes would take off from the Elizabeth and Ophelia Armed Forces Base outside of Elizavetsya, they would begin survey flights of the USSR-Equestrian border. In the meantime around 145,000 troops would be called up to begin setting up positions at the border.

The Equestrians would bring their own armored divisions forward, the tanks would be primarily electron tanks and whatnot, light fare really and not the full force of the Equestrian army. Along with the tanks, 50 HIMARS vehicles would be brought forward, each one loaded with 8-10 ballistic missiles.

V4 missile artillery and missile trucks would also be brought into the area in order to boost the ballistic missile stockpile in the area.

The Soviets don't seem to be too concerned about the amount of people at their border and primarily concentrate on moving equipment and vehicles into the sector rather than more men.

Along with it equestrian Jones would have a bit of a hard time Gathering proper information from the Soviet as spy drone systems were naturally jammed by the reds.
Or the Soviets otherwise obscured their positions or operated a bit further from the border.

The drones would be quietly withdrawn as further tanks and light vehicles were brought forward, artillery would be moved into the border-bases, and deeper within the territory long range missiles were readied and ensured operational. Work would begin to scramble Soviet communications via a counter-jamming system which scrambled transmissions by inserting or deleting bits and pieces of the radio wave causing any radio comms to collapse or become unoperational.

Still however the Soviets did notice their attempts and decided to conduct military drills on the border in retaliation simulating an attack

Elizabeth heavily offended by the audacity of the soviet army to conduct drills on the border would order to black tents to be taken away, revealing over 200, 381 mm. plasma anti-air bunker guns with the ability to rotate up to 90 degrees up and down and 180 degrees left to right.

The Soviet Union has decided to specify that they are willing to negotiate a possible demilitarization of the border unless the equestrians feel like continuing with the ridiculous stunts.

The Soviets were not threatened by the presence of these weapons on the border and considered their equipment to be superior already

The Equestrian government would state that demilitarisation was only possible if the USSR dropped all claims over Opeltaag and withdrew their own troops and military first.

And the Soviet Union would also terminate communication between the St Petersburg area and West Russia

The Equestrian Navy had yet to have a proper sea-going presence on Ryuten, as the majority of the ships were located on the home-planet. As such sea-defenses would be weaker. Nevertheless Elizabeth noting this, would order the construction of a special Ryuten based naval fleet at the Elizavetsya Royal Shipyards. consisting of destroyers, dreadnought, cruisers, and of course submarines. The fleet would be expected to be finished by 2707 and consist of 4 destroyers, 5 dreadnoughts, 3 cruisers, and 6 submarines...assuming the shipyard took on less private projects.

In order to ensure that the shipyard could deal with an increased production capacity, a second shipyard was built and founded in Kyrsk on the Volga Sea, this would be called The Equestrian Ryuten Defense Shipyard.

Aside from joint exercises between the Red Army and the Red Aerospace Force (air force) of the Soviets maintain the status quo for the most part now

Equestria not being one to escalate issues would maintain the same, albeit all exercises of the armed forces would occur elsewhere deep within the Equestrian home galaxy to preserve secrecy.

As for Elizavetsya the build up from both sides had put those within the city and its environs on edge, as the local government began a practice of anti-sovietism. Seeking to break down any potential soviet support within the city, as many pacifists were akin to be in support of the Soviets 'right to territory'.

Specifically looking into the Inquisition as a secret organization from afar as they still don't know much

The Inquisition would be a hard organisation to look into, as it was buried so deep within the ranks of the Equestrian Department of Internal Investigations to the point where any info became almost cryptic or very confusing in nature. It didn't help that there weren't specific Inquisition offices or anything really under the name of the Inquisition, except for the Inquisition Courts, which were usually run by royal judges with ties to the Inquisition or the Monarchy itself.

The City of Elizavetsya would be large, with almost 5 million inhabitants from across Equestria, it seemed to be a city of the highly wealthy, with most of the farmlands in the entirety of the Opeltaag being held by the monarchy, and then loaned out to farmers or families for a period of time until either a purchase was made for the land, or a debt was paid off.

Still the KGB also keeps their distance from the city and they simply influence the pacifist movements from afar

It would be here in these small pacifist movements, which were small not because Equestria was a war-loving nation but because the nation was practically at peace, with the majority of the country not really aware of the issues going on between the USSR and Equestria. But it would be here that the KGB would find a crack to potentially slip into...a small group of citizens comprising of around 20 people who were part of the original settlement group that founded the city, the group called themselves the ABC Group, and they were displeased with not only the monarchist takeover, but also the loss of the city Dömmar a in the year 2702 under the two governors Napoleon and Theodosius. The group wanted to restore the Dömmar and drive out the Archduchess, whom they saw as a Canterlot Snob.

The group willing to work with whomever despite the risk would accept the assistance from the KGB.

The group despite the extra money would have a hard time in the heavily monarchist city getting much traction, albeit some gains would be made, but not enough. The group needed to think bigger.

As well as of course expanding their propaganda in the city and the internet

The propaganda would be expanded, and of course more public speeches and whatnot would be made, adding almost 40 people to the group bringing to total to 60 members, most of whom were either farmers who were under the farm-loan system or original settlers who had been forced out of the city Dömmar in order to be replaced by the Colonial Council

As such they would do this with the rural population gaining more support with those who were in debt with the monarchy...
