Nice!

This article details the descriptions of the terms used in Parliament. It is meant to avoid confusion when interacting with topics concerning the parliament or using these terms. It is divided between the terms used in the Commons, the Senate and those used in both houses. We hope that this will be a useful resource for those wishing to learn more about the Velder Parliament. The list may be expanded in future.

The Commons

Parliamentary Committee: The Parliamentary Committee is composed of 63 members of The Commons from all political parties. Representing roughly one quarter of the seats in the Commons. It's task is to monitor whether members of the Commons are following parliamentary procedure and are acting in good faith towards one another. It monitors the activities of any members who have suspicions brought against them and assess any claims of breaches or foul play. It convenes monthly to review any claims and conduct investigations. Although a session can be requested to be held at any time. Importantly, it is not a means of assessing of whether the government is leading well or to bring up grievances of policy failures. It deals solely in the conduct of individuals and does not afford any priveleges to members of the governing party. A simple majority vote combined with sufficient evidence is enough to official sanction a member of The Commons. The sanctions involved are:

  1. Censure: The member may no longer provide oral arguements during sessions discussing, proposing or voting on a bill. They may not orally propose a bill either.

  2. Removal of Voting Rights: The member may no longer vote on the passage, amendment or repeal of any new or existing legislation. This is quite a serious sanction and effectively nullifies a member's primary powers.

  3. Ejection: The member is ejected from the Commons and a bye-election is to be held to fill their seat at the consent of the member's party. The member may not stand again in this bye-election.

Government Legislative Committee (Front Bench): Also known as the Front Bench, this committee is made up of roughly half of the members of the government party or coalition. It meets monthly to discuss, propose and write new legislation in line with the government's agenda. Members usually sit on the front bench during parliamentary sessions, hence the name, although depending on it's occasionally it may snake round to seats on the second bench. The Government Legislative Committee is crucial for the advancing of any legislative and policy changes, as such it is considered the most important comittee bar the Parliamentary Comittee in Parliament. When a member is removed from the committee or Front Bench, it is not mandatory to replace their seat. It is common to do so, but governments may find it easier to decide on legislation if there are less members present.

Commons Meetings: A Commons Meeting is a meeting of the First Minister and the Ministers of Departments that are members of the Commons. They discuss policy changes, Department performance and any critical situations facing the nation (relevant to the present Departments). These meetings occur every 2 weeks but can be convened earlier at the request of the First Minister.

Commissions: A Commission is simply a group of members of the Commons that form an interest group into a particular issue or area of concern. These Commissions can be made up of members from a single party or mutliple ones. Commissions usually form policy and legislative suggestions to send to the government to consider to enact. Under parliamentary regulations, there have to be at least 3 mutli-party commissions present at all times. Members of the Commons can be part of upto 3 single party Commissions and upto 3 multi-party Commissions.

Single Party Commissions

  • Government and Private Partnership Commission (People's Party)

  • National Interest Commission (National Party)

  • Economic Liberalisation Commission (Liberal Party)

Mutli-Party Commissions

  • Economic Commission (65 Members)

  • Equalities Commission (55 Members)

  • Infrastructure Commission (63 Members)

  • Foreign Commission (48 Members)

  • Defense Commission (37 Members)

Committee Meetings: Committee Meetings comprise the meetings between members of a Department Committee. These include, the Minister, the two undersecretaries and the 3 observer members. These meetings happen weekly. Their purpose is to keep Committee members informed of what the Department is doing and to keep track of day-to-day operations. They are a forum for the Minister and undersecretaries to relay planned changes and the results of implemented ones to the select members of Parliament, who in turn can relay to the rest of their appriopriate houses.

Cabinet Meetings: Cabinet Meetings are meetings of the First Minister and their Cabinet, including members from both houses. These meetings are concerned with the functioning of each department, any policy changes and to plan out how to approach any problems. Each Minister for a Department will present their report, highlighting areas of good performance, areas of concern and any recommendations. The First Minister can then take this information in and weigh in on the operation of the Departments and comment on any solutions and suggestions. These meetings act as a means of testing the state of the nation and are often crucial for long term government planning. Since the Cabinet is split between the Commons and the Senate, often times more than two parties are represented here. Cabinet Meetings occur every two months.

Internal Commissions: An Internal Commission is an organ of a political party that deals with the ethics and activities of it's members. It has the power to sanction it's members in a similar way to the Parliamentary Committee. It's comprised of members of said party that asess any complaints brought against party members and review any potentially illegal or unethical activity. Each Internal Comission has a different system for determining sanctions and a different meeting schedule. They all usually convene within 2 weeks of a complaint being made.

The Senate

Senate Committee: The Senate Committee is made up of the Senate Majority and deals with members activity relating to parliamentary regulations. It monitors a members activity once a complaint has been brought against them and can sanction if it deems it neccesary. Much in the same way as the Parliamentary Committee. A simple majority vote combined with sufficient evidence is enough to sanction a member of the Senate. The sanctions are the same as the Parliamentary Committee. The Committee meets every month, but a session can held sooner at the request of any member.

Senate Legislative Committee: The Senate Legislative comprises the Senate Majority and meets to discuss, propose and write new legislation, Much in the same way as the Government Legislative Committee. Members of the Committe typically sit on the front bench in the Senate, but do not have to. Members usually sit in their constituency seats per the Senate seating plan. The Committee meets monthly.

Electoral Comission: The Electoral Comission was the first Senate only Commission ever created. Tasked with investigating alleged government misconduct after the 2018 election and during subsequent parliamentary sessions. It is the first time that members of the Senate have held direct oversight over members of the Commons. It worked closely with members of Parliamentary Committee in order to gather the neccessary evidence. It has confirmed that will also be overseeing the procedures for the 2022 General Election and its aftermath.

Senate Meetings: Senate Meetings are meetings between the Second Minister and the Ministers for Departments holding seats in the Senate. They discuss the operations of the Departments, future policy plans and any critical situatons facing the nation (relevant to the present Departments). These meetings are held every 2 weeks, but can be convened earlier at the request of the Second Minister.

Members

Parliamentary Members: Members of a political party who have a seat in Parliament, in either the Commons or the Senate. They are often seen as the official representation of the party ( the party leader has to have a seat in Parliament) are primarily responsible for policy and legislation.

Party Members: Regular paying members of a political party, who are part of the wider public and do not have a seat in Parliament. They can hold seats in local government, such as city and county councils. While not seen as the official face of a party, they still hold significant power in deciding on who they want to represent them in Parliament. Party Members have the power to recall certain candidates and call a no-confidence vote in the party leader.

Legislation

Legislation proposed in Parliament is divided into four catergories. Each has a distinct variation in regulatory power, scope and the way in which it becomes law. In addition there are length requirements usually correlated with the amount of Departments a piece of legislation serves and it's contents.

A Note Motions: A Note Motions are not legally binding and often are only a sentence or two long. They serve the purpose of symbolic proposals, government reminders and adminstrative tasks. A government may put forward a proposal in favour of declaring support for a faction in armed struggle without offering any military aid (symbolic proposal). Members may propose one to remind the government of a piece of other pending legislation that has not not yet been put to vote (government reminders). Members may propose one to schedule clerk meetings and personal secretary appointments (administrative tasks). No quorum is required for them, although each one is sent to the First Minister. They may decide to disregard them if they do not have a significant number of votes. Any member can preside over their voting and both houses can introduce them. Only one house needs to vote in favour on them for them to be valid.

Laws: Laws are the smallest legally binding piece of legislation. They have a specific but small legislative change in mind and can be anywhere from one sentence to one page long. They are often used for specific or minority issues, sometimes by the oppostion to get a portion of their desired legislative changes in. A quorum of last half of the house proportionally represented is required when voting. The First/Second Minister presides over the voting, they can also be introduced by both houses. Only one house needs to vote in favour for them to become law.

Bills: A Bill covers legislative changes in the jurisidiction of one of the Departments but has broader scope than a Law. A full quorum of the house is required when voting. The First/Second Minister presides over the voting, they can also be introduced by both houses. Only one house needs to vote in favour for them to become law. However, if the Minister for the changes in the Department concerned is in the opposing house, they may request a vote on it in said house. Thus in the case needing the approval of both houses. An example would be if the Commons passed a Airport Security Bill, but the Minister for Security was a Senator, they could request a vote in the Senate if the contents were not to their satisfaction.

Acts: An Act covers legislative changes in the jurisdictions of multiple Departments or changes deemed to be different and expansive enough.A full quorum of the house is required when voting. The First/Second Minister presides over the voting, they can also be introduced by both houses. They need to be passed by both houses in order to become law. The one exception is the yearly Budgetary Act which must be introduced by the government in the Commons. It needs only to pass the Commons to become law, but members of the Senate can request budgetary amendments to modify it. However, they cannnot outright defeat it.

Other Terms

Presiding Member: Since the Velder Parliament has no speaker, the Presiding Member is instead the First/Second Minister. Responsible for time allotments, the calling for a quorum and nominating the issues at hand. A member from the Parliamentary Committee is also chosen to preside over sessions. They are responsible for the behaviour and protocol of members as opposed to more administrative tasks.

Swedesttanossa is a democratic, safe and efficient nation on the top-left corner of the Western Isles. It is located north of Esterazdravo, and Timatanga ho, on the west of Nhoor and Alteran republics, on the east of Crucemia and on the north-west of Domanania and Ioudaia. It is located very near to Vancouvia. There are around 7 provinces in Swedesttanossa, namely the Eurasian Elk Province, The Cannabis Hills (Also called the Grayson and Pattinson Hills), and Northern Swedesttanossa, São Chulhuldriana, Danrooqa, Agrimontel Avivska, Oshtmine Tanamma and Capital.

Etymology
The name "Swedesttanossa" emerges from the people coming for trade after the Republic of Danrooqa was annexed. These people were mainly pacifists, non-violentists, devouts of Jesus Christ and Shiva, and were very hardworking. They didn't want people to make use of them. These people were known as Swedeese Nals, who followed Jesus Christ and Swedeese Hirtshalitees, who followed Shiva. But, the main name was decided as Dajrangaa, a nation in which the majority are mainly following Duvactism, as followed in Nhoor, along with the minorities being the Christians and the Jews.

History
Once upon a time, in 1601 the queen of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, that is, Queen Elizabeth, gave a charter to all the European companies so that they could trade with the east. By 1658, many Danish, Swedish, English, French, Portuguese and Belarusian Factories were in the coastal areas of Swedesttanossa and Ploegua. Though these 'Factories' didn't manufacture anything, these were called so because the officials were known as 'Factors'.

By 1720, only the English and the Belarusian factories were left in Swedesttanossa and Ploegua, because of the rivalry for vying important resources. At last, in 1758, the battle of Gisellesburg destroyed the Belarusian power and its factories, which was the marking of the English East Swedesttanossan Company and English East Ploeguan Company, from a small trading company to enormous supreme power.

In 1760, Lord Mayline became the first Governor-General of Swedesttanossa and Ploegua. He brought the Subsidiary Alliance and the Doctrine of Lapse like Lord Wellesley and Lord Dalhousie. Many Kingdoms and even provinces accepted the supremacy of the English and signed the Subsidiary Treaty.

In 1765, the British Government introduced a Salt Tax, by which the manufacturing of salt was illegal. This tax severely affected the rural Swedesttanossans and Ploeguans, and they were feeling very angry about it. So, all the peasants, farmers, rural landlords etc. planned to start a rebellion, namely 'Equalite de Peasente'. This rebellion reached its peak level by 1777; and at last, in 1780, the British removed the tax, and the people who started the uprising declared the Republic of Danrooqa. Danrooqa remained existing for about one to two years, and after that, the British annexed Danrooqa again.

In 1784, Lord Mayline died; and Lord Murkine, son of Lord Mayline, became the Governor-General of Swedesttanossa and Ploegua.

By 1799, the British were nearly staying/ruling in Swedesttanossa and Ploegua for more than a hundred years.

In 1800, the rural Swedesttanossans and Ploeguans thought that by doing this last rebellion, they would end the rule of the English/British. So, they again planned a revolt by the same name and protested in the streets of Swedesttanossa and Ploegua. By 1810, the rebellion again reached its peak level, and some soldiers of the army were also supporting the rebellion. But, by this time, the British advanced, and killed the rebellion in just one day. That day was known as ' Murjynka' because on that day, many rural were massacred, killed and thrown out of their mainland. Also, the GDP fell by 2%.

Now, the Swedesttanossans and Ploeguans were adapted to the British rule, but, they still expected that the British would leave out of their own, with pacifism. But, this was proven wrong. By. 1884, the British were staying/ruling in Swedesttanossa and Ploegua for more than 200 years. The Swedesttanossans wanted to break out with no pacifism.
They weren't happy to see the economy and influence in catastrophic shape. So, they wooed out the soldiers, requested, negotiated and even hurt themselves so that they could tell the soldiers that they were doing wrong for the mainland. In 1885, all the Swedesttanossans, Ploeguans, Brit-Swedesttanossan soldiers and Brit-Ploeguan soldiers were ready to break out for the final revolt, the 'Revolt for Nabherka'.

By 1886, the Revolt was roaring. The British were now forced to leave the mainland, and prepare an independent map of Swedesttanossa, which included the Mainland, having 6 provinces and the Danrooqan Islands, forming the seventh province, but...

By 1981, USSR invaded Swedesttanossa and Ploegua, and ruled over it till 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed. Surprisingly, Swedesttanossa and Ploegua was able to recover from the USSR's rule very quickly, with the help of the other nations.

They created an another flag for their settlement on Swedesttanossa.

So, the black colour represented the fertile black lava soil in Swedesttanossa, because of the recent eruption of Mt.Mushtankent, in 1801. The red colour represented the Danrooqans, because the Soviets still gave a little respect to the Danrooqans for their former Republic of Danrooqa. The yellow colour represented the leading exporting of turmeric around TWI. And obviously, the same old Hammer and Sickle Symbol to represent communism.

After 1991

After 1991, the Swedesttanossans started to fly away from their mainland and settle in Panko, a small island below Linaviar and beside Charbagnia. The settlement was called as Hal Travencorakhent. In 2012, it revealed all the names of its provinces, namely the Eurasian Elk Province, The Cannabis Hills (Also called the Grayson and Pattinson Hills), Northern Swedesttanossa, São Chulhuldriana, Danrooqa, Agrimontel Avivska, Oshtmine Tanamma and Capital. By 2021, it joined the Western Isles union and signed a treaty with Nhoor, to export candy.

The Eurasian Elk Republic

This was the flag of The Eurasian Elk Republic. Those people were as fierecful as the Eurasian Elk in the flag. The Swedesttanossans and our current Vice-President, Slyyznet NalMan, still mourn for their former Vice-President, Sarguthareyar Mivalonskyachkh.

Nobody knows the exact reason why those racists and communists declared the Eurasian Elk Republic, but some theories tell that they wanted to be ruled by a Supreme Dictator, or in simple words, they wanted dictatorship, which is strictly not allowed here. Anybody caught saying that alongwith hurting someone, is strictly given a corporal punishment, though it isn't a law here, but this has to be done in the name of Democracy.

[anchor=Hist] Protection against Discrimination, and civil rights for the people from the LGBTQ
The '90s were a time when discrimination and racism were climbing high in Swedesttanossa. Many people were termed as black or short-eyed and were paid low wages. This discrimination heavily affected people from the LGBTQ, lesbians or gays. So, the Swedesttanossan Government started the movement "Protection of Civil Rights", which ensured to motivate people not to discriminate against someone for some small, puny details in their bodies.

This was the flag of the movement.

Religions

These are the religions which the devout Swedesttanossans mainly follow, with Duvactism, the national religion of Nhoor, and a religion having the same practices as Hinduism, being mainly practiced. On the second number is Hinduism, which is mainly practiced here after Duvactism. The third number is Islam, in which Sunni Islam and Shia Islam are practiced evenly. On the fourth number is Buddhism, which is still practiced here after the Buddhist Revolution, when the Buddhists were discriminated against in the 90s. The last on this list is the Atheists. Some of these practices are of the tribals.

Butylsthani is a new upcoming language by the Wringaliteeans, which now includes shorter words, more less complicated words...but this language would be easier to learn to those who understand Hindi. This language was introduced as Wringalitee was still not recognized by the world today, this language will. But, this also doesn't means that we're going to make Wringalitee extinct, we're just going to introduce a new variety of Wringalitee, but very different from it as it makes it confusing. This language almost sound like the words in Hindi, so it may be a little difficult to pronounce the words of Butylsthani but it won't be difficult to write it.

The Swedesttanossan Cartography Company/SCC is the only company in Swedesttanossa to produce its maps. This company was established on 16th December, 2000. Since then, the company designed and published many maps...but many of them were not approved, because many of them were made with wrong data and wrong resources, because at that time, internet was limited to only a few places in Swedesttanossa, which includes VarangyaKar Himmans, Gisellesburg, HaladerManns and Chustanova A'ha-e Mariupolska. But, till now, only one map ha been approved and published by the SCC...and that's the main map of Swedesttanossa. Today, as Internet roams around Swedesttanossa, SCC is finally going to open in doors and start designing maps. This will include:-

1] The Map of FAC/Ferguson and Companies.

2] The Map which will show where does the FAC exports its agricultural products and its provisions.

3] The Great Mesderian Map, which will reflect these nations - Swedesttanossa, Esterazdravo, Crucemia, Domanania, Ioudaia, the upper island of The coquims and the unoccupied island above The Coquims.

4] The Map showing foreign relations with other TWILanders.

The Great Mesderian Map

This map has been officialy designed by SCC. This map took one day to design. Here, you can find the Great Mesder Sea, the Four Passages, Swedesttanossa, Esterazdravo, Crucemia, Domanania, Ioudaia and the upper island of The coquims.

Ferguson and Companies

Ferguson And Companies

Motto: Feeding Future

Founded on: 2003

Two Danrooqans named HarryNal McFerguson and JackMurrovce McFerguson arrived at Swedesttanossa and started their own company called as McFerguson Vurarikhynga Computkhlat or in English, Ferguson and Companies. The company's aim is to export agricultural parts and provisions to the other nations in TWI. If needed, the company will provide substantial foreign aid to the other war-tore nations.

Additionally, they have farmers and workers who'll farm in their own created fields, and export food within Swedesttanossa. SCC will officially release the map of FAC which will tell that where is the exact location of FAC and where does FAC exports the agricultural parts and provisions in a few days .

Dothyrmka Pingalmanns

Dothrymka Pingalmanns, or in English, Doing for Preserving is a movement which aims to end any kinds of land mines or mining industry in Swedesttanossa, to conserve the nature, maintain the environmental beauty, and boost eco-friendliness. Those people who will lose their job, will regain it back by applying for the recycling and manufacturing industry.

Aeteros has made the first contribution, by giving 35 Million Swedesttanossan Dollars.

Elania has made the second contributtion, by giving 5.2 Million Swedesttanossan Dollars.

Frencin has made the third contribution, by giving 1 Million Swedesttanossan Dollars.

Veleste has made the fourth contribution, by giving Ƚ$ 316,800. The amount in Swedesttanossan Dollars will be given shortly.

Ploegua has made the fourth contribution, by just giving $10,000 in Swedesttanossan Pounds. That's not much, but it's great for a new, developing nation.

If you want to contribute, please TG me the amount of money in Swedesttanossan Dollars.

New nations can also contribute for this movement.

Foreign Relations

Swedesttanossa has currently three treaties with Nhoor, Timatanga ho, East lankia, Esterazdravo and Kuwarkiistan. It also has one relation with Ploegua.

How Swedesttanossa and Nhoor started their treaty?

It was just a talk and finish case, but, Swedesttanossa haven't asked him for a treaty, how I and Nhoor signed the treaty was different.

When Drachkent NalMan, the President of Swedesttanossa, saw the Map of the Diplomatic Relations of Nhoor, he saw that there was a mistake. The Danrooqan Area, was coloured blue, which indicated that it had a treaty with response. Then, he asked the president of Nhoor about this, and then he told that this land belonged to Serpens land (which is now currently belonging to Crucemia).
Then, NalMan asked him for this, but instead, he asked that "Swedesttanossa and Nhoor don't have any diplomatic relations. Shall we?". NalMan replied yes, and then we had an agreement.

Also, the Swedesttanossans were very close to the people living in Nhoor, because, in Swedesttanossa, people practiced Duvactism a lot, and in Nhoor also, people practiced Duvactism as their main religion.

Swedesttanossa has also recently signed a peace treaty with Kuwarkiistan, that it would give us Agricultural Tools and Equipments, and we would export them Automobile Parts.

Swedesttanossa has recently signed a peace treaty with East lankia, to maintain diplomatic relations and to export agricultural parts and automobile parts to East Lankia. FAC is also doing a great work in exporting food to East Lankia.

Swedesttanossa has asked Solaryia about a peach treaty, but there wasn't any response.

Esterazdravo has a military alliance with Swedesttanossa.

Timatanga ho recently signed a peace treaty with Swedesttanossa to maintain diplomatic relations and export machinery parts.

At last, Ploegua asked Swedesttanossa to include him in Swedesttanossan history. Currently, it is being planned that the war would take place near the coast of Panko. Yes, it would a marine war near Krapathia.

Military

The Swedesttanossans, the Danrooqans and the Wringaliteeans have never saw a soldier with a gun or a grenade, because here, people spit on the name of military. This happens because the arms manufacturing, the defense forces and weaponization has crashed down to a whole zero. Here, the people are pacifist, devout, cheerful, nice and hard-working. If they had to face any war, they would ask to peacefully negotiate at once. In 1995, the Grand Swedesttanossan Army threw their guns, rifles and their grenades towards Hattickoy Casanthkha, the last war ship of the Army. When Casanthkha exploded, the soldiers screamed and shouted with joy. They broke all their military bunkers, they tore away the flag of the Bishkekttanossan War, and raised the flag of Pacifism and Safety. They were given a choice to either retire from the army, or to become human rights activists.

Though, we still have the planes of these models : C5 Galaxy. But, these planes are now only used for foreign aid to other war-tore nations.

Why say Anti-Hindu and Anti-Duvact?

During a normal parliament session in Danrooqa in 1957, Gackadrachkal NalMan and Banygerakhent NalMan, father and grandfather of Drachkent NalMan respectively, raised issues of public interest, mainly of the Public Protests of the Buddhist Revolution, but after some time of discussing the issue, some people suddenly started shouting Anti-Duvact.

Both didn't knew that why they shouted, but they did knew that they were those type of people who just boast their own religion and mock of the others. After the parliament session was televised in a news channel, the people watching it felt more offended, and declared both of them as Anti-Duvact and even Anti-Swedesttanossan.

After many years, when Drachkent came to know about this, he immediately summoned a session, because this religious politics were more important. In the session, when he discussed about this issue, the politicians told that this is just because of the movies directed by GackadKar ShanSwedes.

After that session, Drachkent personally met ShanSwedes, and what he came to know was very sad, ShanSwedes said, "The people here are very proud of their religion, and they declared every religion downwards. I and my community want to introduce Duvactism, a religion which is already practiced in Nhoor. When the public heard this, they started shouting to me that I'm Anti-Hindu. Also, my movies mainly cover the intolerance filled in Swedesttanossans, and how aren't tolerant with other religions; as I'm a supporter of religious tolerance, they started shouting Anti-Swedesttanossan! This was really annoying, so, I stopped directing movies, and started researching, and I found out after many days that a political party with ideologies supporting dictatorship, are brainwashing people. After that, I didn't stop. I continued to make movies to spread the message of tolerance and religious tolerance, but, NalMan, these people just can't change their minds. So, I hereby request you to introduce Duvactism, follow it, spread the message if religious tolerance, overthrow the dictated party and say NO to RELIGIOUS POLITICS."

NalMan said, "I'm such an idiot, why I haven't followed you, if you're the president, you could do more good for the people...I'll do what you say."

ShanSwedes said, " Please don't make fun of yourself, you're one if the NalMans! Please just make this change, and Swedesttanossa will return on the track."

NalMan thereafter introduced Duvactism, spread the message of Religious Tolerance and said NO to RELIGIOUS POLITICS. But, after the overthrowing of the party, Swedesttanossa really came into the track.

People's Rights

According to the Constitution, the people of Swedesttanossa have the following rights :-

1) Sovereignty - The people of Swedesttanossa have the rights to rule over their land and make laws or scrap the laws for their good. There shouldn't be any external control/aggression in the functioning of the government of Swedesttanossa.

2) Socialism - The people of Swedesttanossa have got the same economic and social rights to thrive in TWI. Social Equality means an equal status for all and opportunities to thrive for all. Economic Equality means that there should an equitable distribution of wealth among the society. Wealth is generated socially, and should be shared equally by the society. The government has full rights to control the land and industry to reduce socio-economic inequalities.

3) Secularism - The government treats everybody as equal with inclusiveness when it boils down to the matters of religion. All the regions, Hinduism, Duvactism, Buddhism, Islam and Atheism are practiced here peacefully with no riots.

4) Pacifsm - The people have the rights to freedom of speech and expression. They also have the rights to assemble peacefully. But, it also means that nobody can cause disturbance for others while assembling. Also nobody can use arms for assembling.

5) Executive - The people have the rights to elect their own executive, which will be responsible to the parliament, thus reducing the chances of Autocracy/Dictatorship.

Economy

A major part of the economy goes to agriculture, pizza delivery and trout fishing. The provinces of Agrimontel Avivska, Eurasian Elk Province, Danrooqa and The Cannabis Hills boosted the economy of Swedesttanossa since its establishment.

How was Agrimontel Avivska important?

Agrimontel Avivska was the backbone of the economy of Swedesttanossa, since the British times. It was enriched with food crops, cash crops and the mining industry. The Britishers were impressed with the fertility of the soil in this province, so they made Volskyyskyyskent the capital of the province, the agricultural capital of Swedesttanossa. To this day, Agrimontel Avivska has one of the largest Agricultural Sectors in The Western Isles. It still enriches and boosts the economy and the empty tummies of Swedesttanossa. And yes, Volskyyskyyskent remains one of the best cities in Swedesttanossa for job opportunities.

How was Eurasian Elk Province important?

As it goes by its name, Eurasian Elk Province is the most popular for the Eurasian Elks and Eurasian Elkdogs. It is also famous for the Eurasian Elknado Movie Series and the national sport of Swedesttanossa, Eurasian Elkball. But, these are the factors for its general importance. What about the economy? Yeah, it has the most beautiful environments and the most eco-friendly people in Swedesttanossa and The Western Isles. It also has some of the largest Soda-Pop sectors around The Western Isles. But, how does it gain its importance? Simple!!! Just because of the Eurasian Elk, Environmental Beauty and Sodas!

How was Danrooqa important?

Yes, many of you will know that Danrooqa was an important part of the history of Swedesttanossa. The 'Equalite de Peasente' movement, and the 'Revolt for Nabherka'; all happened here. The Southern Swedesttanossans were a whole lot more patriotic and devout than the Swedesttanossans living on the mainland. The Danrooqans (or the people living in the province of Danrooqa) were mainly Muslim and Atheists. Only a few Danrooqans practice Hinduism and Duvactism here (afro mentioned, as practiced in Nhoor).

How was The Cannabis Hills important?

The Cannabis hills is in fact, more important than the province of Agrimontel Avivska. These Marijuana plantations generated almost the whole of the Economic Output. Though, many Wringaliteeans protested against planting these Cannabis plants, because they didn't have any drugs. But, some Wringaliteeans and Swedesttanossans protest against this for the sake of Civil Rights and Personal Freedom. So, the government chose the area around the city of Pan Gurraldhiana, and started planting the Cannabis plants. The unemployed people though had an opportunity to work in these plantations, but they carry the fear of being arrested. But the government insured that they won't arrest anybody. Since then, many people have been working in these plantations, generated and boosted the economy of Swedesttanossa.

Energy

We only use clean, renewable energy. Our solar panels produces about 11.5 gigawatts of clean energy and electricity. Some of this energy goes to the neighboring countries like Esterazdravo, Crucemia and Timatanga ho.
Along with renewable energy, we also produce a lot of non-conventional energy, like tidal energy, geothermal energy and wind energy.

Do you guys think that presidential/leader yachts would be more common in TWI nations given the Isle’s geography?

I have a dark brown suspicion that this may be true.

Solaryia wrote:Do you guys think that presidential/leader yachts would be more common in TWI nations given the Isle’s geography?

I thank that it would depend on the money they make normally that happens in real life when with people who were already rich before presidency or corrupt nations where they get lots of money illegally. Look at the corruption in Russia for example where lots of them have yachts. Then look at the UAE where lots of people are already rich. But since there are lots of islands I think it would be a more common occurrence.

Solaryia wrote:Do you guys think that presidential/leader yachts would be more common in TWI nations given the Isle’s geography?

It depends on the circumstances involved. For the very insular nations I could imagine a State Yacht being a mode of transport for the leader. That said I know I'm not giving one for D&S.

Veldhaven

Solaryia wrote:Do you guys think that presidential/leader yachts would be more common in TWI nations given the Isle’s geography?

Umm, we actually have a state owned yacht that is used for transportation instead of planes sometimes. But only to very close places. It probably hasn't been used in a while, except for showmanship.

Edit: D&S said what I was going to say.

We just have a state-owned yacht for the transportation of goods, like for trout fishing. Our leader, Drachkent NalMan, goes to international tours on a special plane, on Antonov AN-12(B).

Decided to change a lot of things in my country lol

please, I want to be on the map, but i cant understand how to. I made a factbook to prove that I am respecting the rules and all that stuff, but can someone whos on the map explain me how to join?

Map Rules

The map is key to developing relationships between our nations and engaging in role-play. As it has limited space, it is therefore reserved for nations who actively engage in RP and new nations (who have a fair probability of engaging in RP in the future). Please do not request a map spot unless you plan on being active for a long time.

For new nations in the region, you must do ALL of the following to receive a map spot:

1. Have a realistic nation name and use that name to role-play with. Do not use the name of a real-life country or something extremely similar to it.
2. Have at least one factbook about your nation that proves you are going to actively engage and develop your nation in-character.
3. Post at least once anywhere on the NationStates forums. This means anywhere across the site where you are allowed to post. However, avoid posting in threads that TWI has made that are marked (IC). These are for those already on the map only.
3. Have been active. For example, if you send us the request on Monday, stop logging in after Tuesday, and we check the request on Saturday, we will not add you, because it appears you are no longer active.
4. The nation which you apply to join the map with should be a member of the World Assembly.
5. Send Ainslie a telegram that answers the following questions:

Standard Application for Map Spot

  • Nation name:

  • How did you find the region/why did you choose The Western Isles:

  • How long have you been active on NationStates:

  • Is this nation a puppet or side project:

  • If you have ANY other accounts on nationstates.net other than this one, please list them here:

  • Do you plan on being active (participating in regional role-play)? Are there any particular interests you have?

  • Have you read and understood our introductory dispatch, "A Welcome and Introduction Dispatch for New Nations":

  • Have you read, understood, and agree to the map rules located in the regional rules dispatch:

  • Where exactly do you want to be on the map (describe the location in relation to other nations' locations):

  • If that spot becomes no longer available, what is your second choice for location:

In order to stay on the map, you must post on any regional in-character role-play thread at least once a month AND you must also do at least one of the following every ten days or less:

1. Publish or significantly and clearly add to a factbook or dispatch about your nation.
2. Post on any regional role-play thread (including but not limited to the news, tweets, citizens, or League threads).

If you're going to be on an extended vacation or unavoidable absence, telegram the current Secretary of Role-Play (Roendavar), Aizcona and Ainslie and they will likely hold your spot for you if you have shown in the past to be an active member.

No puppets. No nation on the map may serve in any capacity in any foreign region's government.

All players must use a single nation name for all of the region's affairs. Creating and using a new nation to RP as a territory or province is heavily discouraged.

See also additional rules for specific instances: page=dispatch/id=426501

In General

1. Treat others how you want to be treated.
2. Be friendly, welcoming, and supportive of everyone, but more so to the new nations of the region.
3. Don't sabotage, harass, or annoy anyone, in the region or elsewhere.
4. Don't engage in one-sided role-playing, for example by invading a nation that does not want to be invaded.
5. Keep your military strength conservatively realistic.
6. Everyone is equal! Elitism isn't welcome here.
7. Alts/puppet accounts cannot vote. If caught voting, you face expulsion from the region.
8. Follow the NationStates rules.

RMB Rules

The RMB is used for:

1. Communicating with the region as a whole, for announcements either on personal matters or about your nation.
2. Welcoming new nations.
3. General conversation about news or other non-controversial topics.
4. Advice on national issues.
5. Help on anything concerning NationStates itself.
6. Campaigning, once an election poll has gone up.
7. Advertising a regional news article or paper, only once per 12 hours.

The RMB is NOT used for:

1. One-on-one conversations. These should occur through telegram.
2. Role-playing events. These will occur in threads on the NationStates forums that will be linked to on the regional world factbook entry. This is so they do not get lost in a sea of other messages on the regional message board.
3. Controversial discussion. These should occur in public threads on the forums.
4. Spam, inside jokes, troll language, memes, etc. Each message should be at least a full sentence and be either helpful, informative, or evoke conversation.
5. Non-English conversation. Use English.
6. Incredibly long posts, particularly those copy-pasted from something else.

Telegram Rules

1. No regional telegrams can be sent out by non-officers, for any reason, including to campaign
2. Officers can only send out regional telegrams if absolutely necessary, such as in order to conduct their duties or conduct elections
3. Residents may, of course, still telegram any other resident privately for any reason, including to campaign

Breaking the Rules

Upon violating the rules, the following events are likely to happen:

1. Suppression of RMB posts
2. Telegram/post asking to stop
3. Kick from the region
4. Ban from the region

These events may occur in a different order depending on the severity of the offense(s). The telegram/post may come from any nation; if someone warns you that you are breaking the rules, that counts as a warning.

Coldwoods has a presidential yacht named the CNS Donner. Its mostly used for moving the president from the mainland to the local islands but it is also used for informal meetings

Solaryia wrote:Do you guys think that presidential/leader yachts would be more common in TWI nations given the Isle’s geography?

Maybe for more tightly-knit regions of TWI but Southern Sea is (I think) generally accepted to be ocean-level deep and the islands are more far apart so I imagine planes would still be more practical as a means of transportation. Maybe more riverine polities of TWI would prefer yachts?

You can always do like the King of Thailand and use your nation’s aircraft carrier as the Royal Yacht in peace time

Chancellor Costava owns a small boat by himself, but there is no designated yacht for the Costavozkan Chancellor (yet, as I'm thinking of having one). Although there is a Chancellor's Personal Aircraft, which is basically a !747-400 with a lengthened upper deck and improved engines.

New factbook is up with the countries of North and Central Argus, hopefully I will finish Argus tonight.

Foreign Relations of Coldwoods
Brought to you by the Department of Foreign Relations

Following the devastation of the Imperial War and the Doratic Occupation, Coldwoodians have always been suspicious of strangers. Before the war, Coldwoodians had always been welcoming people and open to outsiders. After losing so much in the war and the following occupation, Coldwoodians grew to be suspicious of all foreigners. Following the war, many Coldwoodians decided to purchase firearms to protect against another invasion. Congress even made firearm ownership compulsory for a brief period. Despite the economic impact of banning immigration and heavily restricting trade, Coldwoodians overwhelmingly shot down any attempt at reopening citing the impact of the war. Even today, almost 80 years after the war, Coldwoodians remain wary of almost anyone not born on the island, barring a few similar nations in the region and Laeden.

Looking forward to the future, stirrings of change are coming to Coldwoods. Many have come to question the practicality of being so closed off to the rest of the world and this was reaffirmed in the 2022 Presidental Election, where anti-isolationist President Pappallardo won with a 58% majority of votes. As Pappallardo has gotten more comfortable as President, he has announced plans that have grown more and more ambitious to heal the rift between the Western Isles and Coldwoods.

On September 25th, 2022; The Immigrant Act of 2022 was passed by Congress and signed by the President. For immigration related inquires, please be directed to the Coldwoods Immigration and Custom Forces (CICF)

Solaryia wrote:Do you guys think that presidential/leader yachts would be more common in TWI nations given the Isle’s geography?

To some extent, yes, but yachts are impractical for high seas travel, at least from Kaumpirko to... anywhere else. Even within Kaumpirko, should the President wish to go to the outer islands, the Presidential Office would charter a special ferry or fly with the Presidential Jet.
