Fist of the North Star would be better if it was half as long, it is so darn repetitive its frustrating to watch. Good only for me now understanding the "you are already dead" meme.

Over-hyped? Perhaps. The show still got quality that I enjoy especially the 3rd season (5th technically but I am using season as the arc of the stories).
Watching JoJo is basically watching a show to see how clever the author comes up with dire situations and tricks that the characters can use to get out of jail. It's an anime that doesn't require too much brain power and you can just enjoy the ride.

Im watching a few. The Quintessential Quintuplets 2 (Itsuki is BG), Kemono Jihen, Mushuko Tensi, The two Cells At Work series, Heavenly Design Bureau, Log Horizon 2, and Idolly Pride.

You should give it a chance. Sub characters are so detailed. And its more sticked to manga.

3 episodes is pretty deep. I don't know if I want to give it another chance. I have so many anime backlogged and games and books and movies and tv shows. I will keep it in my backburner if I am really really bored I might give it a chance again. But I doubt it will get better with the 3 episode-rule. It's usually pretty telling 3 episodes in.

To me the true to manga really meant nothing as I've never read the manga. I think the original anime was good enough for me for now.
