The United Regions Global Pandemic Simulation will be commencing shortly. It is important for citizens to not panic, as this is simply a kind of "dress rehearsal" should a true pandemic hit our lands. It has been a question on everyone's mind: what will the new National Assembly look like. Well we can report on the answers. "So for our viewers, we have 8 political parties, 3 on the right wing, 4 on the left, and 1 in the center. On the right we have the National Patriot Party, the Democratic Freedom Party, and the Christian Union. On the left is Labour, the Christian Liberation Movement, the Workers Council, and the Vanguard. And in the center is the New Age Alliance. So the way this works is that the parties will win seats proportionally but the left and right wing parties have already decided to form coalitions, and these coalitions will dictate who it in the majority. Now the New Age Alliance is allowed to caucus with either side, but reporting indicated that they were leaning toward caucusing with the left coalition."

"As you can see by these numbers, the New Age Alliance holds a plurality of seats on the National Assembly, and since they have chosen to caucus with the left coalition that means that they will hold a majority. But this also will be a strenuous alliance since left parties on their own have 83 seats, so they will require at least 37 NAA members to vote with them on any bill. However what is interesting is the results of the Presidential election. So for the presidential election the incumbent candidate, President Silva, ran under the Labour Party, and only the New Age Alliance and the Democratic Freedom Party ran candidates against her.

"As you see, Silva won over 50% without even based on 1st choices, so she will continue her term. This is interesting as it shows there was a large amount of split ticket voting. This is likely due to Silva's large favorability numbers due to her handling of the war and the aftermath as well as her prominent role on the world stage. However this also means that Labour will have a larger say in negotiations in the assembly."

Certain careers such as professional actors and athletes will have a maximum wage enforced and that owners and CEOs will have their income limited as a specific ratio to their lowest payed employees. This radical legislation just passed the General Assembly yesterday with 120 yes votes, with 118 no votes and 2 abstentions. President Silva said that this legislation was "an excellent change to fix the extreme wealth inequality that was pervasive in our nation." We go now to our special politics reporter."
"We have been watching this legislation for the past month, it was first proposed by representative Carmo of The Workers Council, with cosigners in Vanguard and the Christian Liberation Movement. This bill was picked up by members of those parties as well as more progressive members of the Labour Party. However this bill was bogged down in committee for a long time with no comments from party leaders until the Crocus Revolution in the North Sea Federation. Due to our strong connection to their nation this sparked mass left wing sentiment among the people. Speaker Morais and President Silva then took this legislation and began to promote and push it both in public and among assembly members. The entire left wing coalition united behind this and Speaker Morais managed to put pressure on 37 New Age Alliance members to pass the bill as well as 2 others to stay home for the vote. Many unions are praising the bill as an amazing step in the right direction while Opposition Leader Chaves says that this bill is just a "thinly veiled attempt to institute socialistic policies".
