America the GreaterAre these debates chat or audible? Currently have a bad cold and physically cannot talk above a whisper.
They're on our Discord (in text), we'd like you to join if you can!
Unfortunately I will not be able too this time. But I really like this new format of being able to debate because sometimes as an MP it gets kind of stale with propose and vote then repeat so I really hope the debating factor stays for the long term!
Debates are definitely here to stay. Honestly, I can't believe I didn't do this sooner - thank you Gine Caruttiva for the idea!
Also, MPs, if you can't jump in and debate, there's still a lot of interesting topics being discussed about the bills in the Discord. You should read through some of what we've talked about, maybe it'll change your mind or help inform your opinion on a bill. Every bill author has been in the chat and has given lots of insight as to their bill's purpose.
I love knowing how RP in this region works but choosing not to participate anyway
Still grounded
I can publish a summary of the arguments people have presented after the debate ends if you'd like

Please do!
I am also currently grounded but within the next 2-5 business days I will probably not live here anymore

good morning NBB!
morning Vordo
MPs, here's an important change to the upcoming Voting Session: Mjau has elected to remove the Minister Removal Bill from the running. The debate period is still ongoing (it'll be shorter next time lol) but I will have an update about the specifics of the debate later on today.
Good morning my son
I'd like to give everybody on the RMB an update on where we've landed so far with the Parliamentary debate on the Discord:
Mjau's Amendment to Article IX of the Constitution - Secret Ballot Amendment has seen some debate over whether a secret-ballot system can guarantee fairness. Proponents have largely accepted the bill as a step toward ensuring honest, secure voting.
My Amendment to Article IX of the Constitution, reducing term times to 4 months each, was very briefly covered, and no issues have been raised yet.
The Kaverian's Amendment to Article XII, clarifying the veto power, has been largely viewed as straightforward.
The Kaverian's Motion to Accept PA-Bylaws I-V and PB-Bylaws I-III have seen their necessity and also some technical details questioned, but they appear largely uncontroversial.
New United Common-lands's Amendment to Establishment of the Election Commission has drawn questions about whether the bill would invite corruption. Proponents mostly claim that parties in the region are not relevant enough to require representation, and that the bill would help fairly represent independent candidates.
The Kaverian's Amendment to Article V has faced criticism that the bill gives too much power to the Prime Minister. Proponents include most government members, who see the bill as a common-sense amendment which would help the government maintain efficiency.
Lemona, Vordoslavia, Mjau, and Western Arba Fir
