Lets see my town's history
Tyngsborough, was once part of the original Dunstable, Massachusetts Township initially settled in 1661 by Colonel Jonathan Tyng named in honor of his mother Mrs. Edward Tyng, who emigrated from Dunstable in Bedfordshire, England. The Tyngs were among the early settlers of the land purchased from the Wamisit and Naticook tribes in 1661 for £20 sterling. This 200 square miles area covered most of current day towns that surround Tyngsborough including Nashua and Hollis, New Hampshire.
Nice history, I also have a Salem witch trials story. :)
Hello Beverly. Interesting to note that you're the second Beverly themed nation to arrive in this region.
I'm glad to see more activity here in Massachusetts, this region has been very much dead for a long time.

Looks like Massachusetts is getting a new flag.
A new flag, a new seal, the new times, the new era?
What are they going to change it to?
The governor created a committee to design a new flag/seal and they need to finish designing it by October 1st.
"Now that the governor has signed the resolve into law, S.2848 will establish a special commission which will include five members appointed by the director of the Massachusetts Commission on Indian Affairs who descend from tribes with a historic presence in Massachusetts, five members appointed by the governor who have relevant “cultural and historical expertise,” and nine other seats to be filled by the heads of the Mass Commission on Indian Affairs, the Mass Historical Commission, the Mass Foundation for the Humanities, and the Mass Cultural Council, along with the chairs of the Joint Committee on State Administration in the Massachusetts House and Senate, and the minority leaders of the Massachusetts House and Senate."

New flag? As long as it’s not the state seal on a solid background...
Not much!
Far more activity than you usually get here. I'm suprised.

So it looks like six children's books by Dr. Seuss are not going to be published anymore. Thoughts on this?

He was born in Massachusetts; I guess that makes this relavent to this region. His birthday was also 2 days ago. What a great (sarcastically) way to celebrate his birthday!
It was a decision made by the company owned by Geisel's estate, so I really don't have much to say on the matter. And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street is a historic book, so I'm a little disappointed that they're scrapping the book, especially on his birthday. They aren't eradicating it though, it will remain online in libraries, and eventually in the public domain, so the books will live on.

It seems Malcolm X's house will be considered a historic place.
Good to hear. More history being highlighted in Massachusetts is always a good thing.
