The star ships you are trying to sell me as viable will most definitely be immobile from a relative perspective. You're trying to create an infinite scenario in which the larger the ship, the better its armor, the stronger the thrusters need to be. There are two issues with this argument. Firstly, larger vessels no matter how fast will be less maneurverable than smaller vessels, and as I will state later on, they will take damage much, much easier, and will take heavy damage no matter what. Secondly, thruster technology will have its limits, your argument relies on this infinite series in which a continuous onslaught of newer, stronger thruster technology will ensure the continued viability of massive star ships.
I rescind my argument regarding the AAs turning 360 degrees. That was a misworded statement on my part, as I had only taken into account the three dimensions while failing to account for the fact that 360 degrees is a two-dimensional issue. I wanted to emphasize however, that a laser system for AA would still not work for the reasons stated above. A missile will hit, and a ton of missile will definitely hit too. Large starships are not viable.
On the subject of black and white globes, these are technology present on the FWO. Please note that the maximum technological threshold is 700 SA, and the tech displayed on the SA chart is a good guidance of what tech is reasonable at this point. So yes, there is no viable method to defend against a concentrated laser beam, especially if your crossfire is that massive.
Your third point completely misses the point. I am not disregarding the fact that space warfare has an added dimension to it, I am simply stating that weapons that hit will cause damage. Therefore, one would opt to reduce the chances that they would take damage more than anything else. Yes we have FTL technology, but FTL is used for travel alone. Space warfare should not be conducted while both ships are engaged in FTL travel, that most likely lead to disaster. Your final statement also creates a neverending "tanking" scenario, easily countered by previously mentioned laser systems.
Your comparison of a cruiser and a corvette would not be an applicable argument for military effectivity, as a corvette would surely not attempt to combat a cruiser alone. In fact, a cruiser's role is also very different from a corvette. But let's presume this argument is valid. A corvette will lose perhaps in terms of their supposed "HP bar", but in terms of firepower it is ultimately the same. A corvette and a cruiser, both facing each other starboard, directly firing into each other, will cripple both. Yes by percentage the corvette will take more damage, but both would be damaged beyond repair. A modern day ship cannot withstand direct, clean hits from modern day weaponry. Do not treat a larger surface area as if it were an HP bar, this is not how vessels work.
Lastly, you also misuse my last argument. I argued that your starships, which you envision as being gigantic, would emit massive heat and would therefore be guaranteed hits. Smaller ships would emit much less heat, and would be easier to divert away from projectiles.

Yeh there heckin cool
I’ll Brb
> You coup your government.
After the war is over, you make your move. You take the entirety of the military, and you move against your government.
> You demand to be made Leader or you will kill the government.
The military obeys to ensure their next live, and you quickly take power.
You rule as Dictator for two years, rebuilding the country into what it should be, an Empire.
oh no im too brave for poltics

Well Monarche just freaking left. Which means he might not even be interested in continuing the small ship/big ship debate once he's back. This sucks.
