Wabacha wrote:With newfound motivation to act, Lincoln's departure from the home that protected him these thirty some-odd years will be missed by the people who knew him. None of them would know why he left, or why nine women disappeared this day. None of them would would have seen a glimpse into what sort of thing Lincoln truly is. Well, all but one.

The gestalt spirit known as Myriad has no physical form. That was lost to him long ago, when his core died and was condemned to Yolg for not being of this world. An innocent reason, as Soastrans are a scattered people after their planet was consumed by a cosmic war machine. His origin and history on this planet and in its hell grants him nothing in terms of information as to what Lincoln is. Nothing more than what he has seen so far. His soul is highly resistant to demon sorceries, but now he faces a more specialized and personal threat. If only Lincoln wasn't a tortured soul forced to live again and again, hungering for the sweet taste of love and cursed because of it. If only your plight wasn't such a clear mirror of their master, you may have been able to live in ignorant bliss a while longer. But the time for musing was over. Lincoln and his unlikely companion make for the open road, away from the cramped spaces that makes their new enemy's hunting grounds. The open country weakens the fiend and it is more sedentary than not, but the night grants it power beyond mortal understanding. It would take a true master of illusions and trickery to keep it out of their dreams.

He is there, and he is not there. The material world does not recognize his existence, and he has not been overt with his presence to make the two souls he has marked readily aware that he is there. Myriad exists only by his reflection, a reflection that only two would see if they knew where to look. Shop windows, metallic surfaces, puddles of water; each show him in turn walking into their reflection and disappearing on the other side, the same as Lincoln's and Wilhelm's. But unlike them, this is the only presence he has in this world.

As Wilhelm follows Lincoln out on the open road and away from the town, he took one last look back into the settlement and to the van that his wives had gotten together... Clearly that won't be needed seeing as Lincoln had seemingly forgotten it. It might be for the best it stays, perhaps people can use it to get away from whatever manner of beats is lurking in the town...

Looking into the town made the pit in his stomach grow, eager and hungry, with each passing moment with his unease. There was more than one creature in that town exerting influence. He felt the affects himself. It didn't feel malevolent. In fact he didn't feel anything at all. That is what was making him wary... An unseen force was pushing them away from this place while another was prowling around his new travelling buddy... Then again it may just follow them as soon as they get far enough from the town. Might be best to take it.

[I can't tell what was happening, the power exerted over me wasn't like anything I'm used to... It didn't FEEL evil, no hostile intent or anything of that sort. Then again maybe it was something that didn't think I couldn't break free? Hmm.. I should have been able to feel the intent of an attack being directed at me thanks to my patron. Looks like I'm still too green with this aspect of my new abilities... That. Or it's something I've never encountered before. Easy enough to do, I can look anywhere in this mana forsaken countryside and see something I've never encountered before.] He thinks to himself with a click of his tongue before he follows after his new travelling companion. For now he was intent on just following, though now he was on alert... Something was after Lincoln, and he was looking for some excuses to try out some new concepts he was getting ideas for.

"Say, we should at least take the van. We'll... Well, you'll need some place to sleep while we're on the road. Speaking of roads. Where are you even thinking of heading? Lucy was saying that you all were planning on just heading out somewhere.. And I did give you some options." Thinking about it, until they understand just what is hiding from them it would be best to stay away from cities to avoid civilian injuries being blamed on them. Last thing he needed was to get into a skirmish with some other G-classes over misunderstandings.

Synnadine wrote:The woman stops for a moment as she hesitates the moment he mentions Bilee's. Those things don't mess with just run of the mill people, they are only sent after more serious situations. The fact he name dropped them can only mean he knows something. He can tell at least what threat level she is, or a part of it. But where is the scanner? He doesn't seem to be holding one, or have one in his pocket. Maybe it's a bodily modification? Or maybe it's just a particularly small, easily concealed model. To move through the Metropoli you have to register your presence, getting in otherwise is mission impossible. That said fake ID's are advanced enough to bypass such things...but not a Bilee. A Bilee can't be so easily fooled, it could immediately identify her fake credentials, and would absolutely be deployed. They wouldn't be of any threat to her if she used her powers, and she couldn't care less about crossfire, but not only does the Senate have anti-magic units in the Chilean Guard, there's even worse than that which could befall her. She's not ready for that, not yet.

She stands there in the freezing rain, curled up into herself as much as she can, as he goes into claiming he is not trying to strong arm her. Maybe he's bluffing, she's never heard of Bilee's that look like normal people...but she can't take that chance. It's too big a risk. The man certainly looks the part of a government dog, so maybe he knows stuff she doesn't. At the mention of discussion she half turns around to look him in the eyes, he glare holding nothing but animosity. It seems she has to play his game for now....she can't contest what he just said. "I really don't like you...fine." She begrudgingly starts to walk back under the awning to again shield herself from the rain.

Once she gets within six feet of Lee the Skyshield registers her presence and reacts accordingly. The translucent field angles upwards towards her and extends to cover her, rainwater running down behind Lee now instead of creating a curtain of rain that she would have to walk through. Her reluctant cooperation receives a short reply. "Thank you." Lee turns and walks ahead of her, sensing that she wants to keep him in her sights. The Skyshield may not be covering him as Lee returns to his spot with a grunt, but it still covers the woman until she sits again. A puff of smoke rises as he takes the pack back out of his chest pocket and raises it for her to see. "You smoke? Calms the nerves."

I have a great idea for a card for William now. I'm gonna have to use placeholder art since I don't know his appearance off the top of my head but I can fix that later.

I am looking into some appearance's for him now that you mention it, it depends on if you want the pre-transform appearance or him in his full Terrazoconian form

Tada, the King in Waiting. As soon as I started reading and digesting William's creation of a raider kingdom in a separate space dimension with magical science spaceships, it gave me massive sword and sorcery vibes mixed with my Eternal War setting I was working on. Then when I got those vibes I started thinking of connections between the maddening existence of the abyssal Darkspace used for faster than light travel in that setting and what caused the setting to spiral into madness and this realm that William has discovered and began claiming as his own. Then the idea of armored raiders wielding magical blades and plasma rifles clad in twisted armor leading swarms of twisted zombies and monsters, dragging back captives and spoils of war back onto their warships to return to Darkspace, where both stolen technologies, weapons, and captives are warped over time from exposure to the corruption. All under the command of their horrible sorcerer King, his power, influence, and raider fleets stretching all across known space but his mind etched away by the alluring power of Darkspace, yet his goal never changing. To take what is rightfully his.

Yeah it spiraled way out of control, but that's what I thought of. XD Him monkeying around with unknown aliens technology along with opening the portal to who knows where could very well have torn the fabric of the universe to allow him and his growing armies access to the unending power within, at the cost of their humanity.

If you like any of this I'm a hundred percent happy to give William any of the techs and weapons the Eternal War setting has to offer.

This card would be him post civil war, and probably quite a bit into his expansion into the unknown and building his raiding kingdom.

Is there any question that I wouldn't 100% love this idea? I was just setting up his raiding Kingdom for some stuff later but now this adds another layer to the distasteful lengths William will go to achieve his right to rule

I'm glad you like the idea, I didn't know what you had planned for William so I didn't want to go to crazy, but I sorta did anyways lol.

The Darkspace Raiders are going to have a fun mechanic called Raid. Whenever they deal combat damage to an opponent, they will attach the top cards of that player's deck to themselves, the number depending on the raiding creature. Then when the raider is put into exile from the battlefield (returning to darkspace), their second effect goes off regarding the cards they stole. Maybe they allow you to play the lands they stole, you create treasure tokens which you can sacrifice for mana, maybe straight up make mana, or Time counters, or play the card itself. Could be all sorts of things. If the raider dies from something else without escaping into exile, the cards go to the top of the player's library, since they "recovered" the stolen goods or creatures. Should be fun designing them.

The Aeritaian Realms
Capital Realm
Mage Academy

After getting back from his trip from Onka's Realm, Lygon sat at his desk as he laid his head down exhausted from the major headache he had suffered while in Onka's Realm and from what he can tell it was gone for good. But then out of no where a sharp pain started to form in Lygon's head, grunting in pain the head mage stood up from his desk and started to clutching his head and shaking it trying to make it go way.

"Ugh! Why won't this headache go away?!" Lygon angrily said.

"Oh I'm afraid you can't get rid of me... You see I am now stuck in your mind." A voice said.

Lygon looked to where the voice came from and in the corner Lygon could see a black and red mist like human body standing in the corner of the room. The mist like figure soon began walking closer to Lygon a small evil grin could be seen on the mist like figure.

"What... Who.... Are you?" Lygon asked as the headache slowly began to fade away.

"I am Onka the Titan of Destruction." The mist like figure introduced himself bowing in respect.

"A pleasure to meet you Sir Lygon."

"Onka...?! Impossible you're supposed to be sealed away! How did you escape?" Lygon asked confused on why the ancient enemy of Aeri the Creator was here in this misty form.

"I didn't escape fully.... You see after Soul King tried to break me free just so he could control me. He left a small crack within my seal in which you tried to seal back up again and while you had your hand on that crack I was able to slip myself into your mind. What you are seeing now is only a small fraction of my true form." Onka explained.

"So I assume this is your weakest form?" Lygon asked.

"Indeed it is when it comes to fighting other Titans and Divine Beings... But with a mortal." Onka said as he slowly stretch out his arm towards Lygon.

At first Lygon was confused on what Onka was doing until he felt a sharp pain in his right arm as began to bend in unnatural ways with his bones snapping and cracking with each bent. Lygon yelled out in pain as he grabbed his right arm as it kept on bending cracking more of his bones, the pain soon stopped and his arm began to heal back into place. Confused Lygon looked up towards Onka terrified that the former Titan could do this to a mere mortal.

"Despite my limited power in this form I am still able to harm you if you don't do as I say." Onka said.

"What do you want from me...? What do you have to gain from controlling a simple mortal like me?" Lygon asked.

"Like I said before I am limited on what I can do in this form and so I need a vessel that will help me prevent a prophecy from coming true. You are that perfect vessel to help carry out my plans." Onka explained.

"Prophecy? What are you talking about?" Lygon asked.

"The one that Aeri made before sealing me away in my own realm." Onka said.

"You see since both me and Aeri are Titans we could not kill each other which is why Aeri sealed me away in my realm in the first place. Aeri knew I would one day escape and so he created a prophecy that talks about a chosen one that would one day defeat me in battle. This prophecy says that a half-titan that is descended from Aeri will bring about my destruction. Once I get rid of this so called 'chosen one' I will finally destroy every realm that Aeri has created in his dying breath."

"So what do I gain from all of this...?" Lygon asked.

"If you help me I shall make you the prince of Destruction, you shall be powerful." Onka said.

"Powerful than every mortal in the entire realm."

Lygon hearing these things began to think, all of his life Lygon has always wanted more power and with Onka offering him more power. Lygon couldn't refuse this opportunity.

"Then just tell me what I need to do and I shall help you." Lygon said.

Thats a pretty nifty mechanic. Sounds like a raiding deck is going to be annoying to deal with. I like it

This new raiding kingdom is gonna be fun to make, thanks to Wabs giving me some of that additional hype for making the card of William I have some ideas for follow up posts.

He'll need more tech to improve his own, slaves to brainwash and start work on expansion in his new domain to cover all essential bases, new ships and materials to conduct more/larger raids and finally he'll need to stay out of Synnadine detection until he acquires a force large enough to overrun their defenses when it becomes time for their offworld colonies to be viable targets for raiding. Same with Wabacha and other offworld immensus colonies

The woman doesn't get taken aback by the Skyshield's automatic registry of herself. She may not have one, but she's seen enough enough of them on the streets that she knows how they work. She sits down under the awning just like how she was before, tucked in even more tightly to herself than before. It's pretty clear that, from a physiological stand point, while she agreed to talk she's still keeping herself totally closed off to the guy. As such her response comes to no surprise as her voice comes out rather blunt, and matter of factly. "No...now why are you so adamant that we talk? This some impromptu interrogation, or do you just like to cosplay as a washed up detective with nothing left to lose?"

There we go bois, the start of the Darkspace Raiders as a tribe. I have more ideas but no more fitting pictures on my phone, not much in the aesthetic I'm hunting for.

Lee shrugs when she declines, and puts the pack away while she demands an explanation. "I have plenty to lose. So does everyone living in this city or walking these streets. The same thing you don't want to lose either. None of us want to die, especially if it could be avoided."
