A mysterious vagabond

Ya know, I don't wanna piss nobody off, but I'm really very much fer this resolution. This is the kind of thing I want the WA to do - to make life better fer people. I honestly believe that's what this one will do. A lot of times, the authors of these resolutions let their idealism get the better of them, an try to pass things that open the door fer genuine abuse, or that contain loopholes that keep them from accomplishing much, or sometimes jest plain don't make any sense, whether that's because the ideas are murky, or because the author couldn't put together a clear English sentence ta save their life.

This one is different. I'm proud to be votin FER it.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Condemn Swarmlandia
A resolution to express shock and dismay at a nation or region.

Category: Condemnation Nominee: Swarmlandia Proposed by: Sakaba

Description: The Secruity Council:

IDENTIFIES that Swarmlandia has been capturing all tourist"...

<see WA for full text>

Holy Cats, we have a Security Council Condemnation! They must be bad, we have not had one of these since mid-January. This one is for the nation of Swarmlandia. These peeps have been around on and off since mid 2007. We still have never heard of them. Usually, when we don't know the nation/region in question, we just kind of gloss over these and vote against them. The author cites some reasons to condemn them like "capturing all tourist" (eeek), used the captured tourists as "experimental test subjects" (woo, detestable) or poisoning, freezing, burning and dismembering the tourists (the horror!), etc. Hmm, that nation is pretty bad. Perhaps we should condemn them. We will have to think on this. Tentatively, NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response rate was way up again on the last SC vote [Commend The Cat-Tribe], which passed with 69.99% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 9 opinions expressed on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 1 FOR and 8 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were almost unanimous on that one!

NewTexas is open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. All comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. *As always, the WA Delegate vote will be based on popular opinion.*

Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known by 11:00pm Friday as voting ends at 11:00pm Texas Time on Saturday the 12th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 1917 Votes AGAINST: 1357

against, theres a simple solution to avoid that, don't go there.

It seems to me that a lot of the condemnations are simply acknowledging a country's bad deeds. If we really wanted to we could manipulate a nation into receiving a condemnation.

*Starts formulating a plan to get a puppet so evil they receive a condemnation.*

***** Texas Election Reminder *****

In Texas Election News, the First Quarter 2011 Texas Elections Speech & Campaign Week is winding down. It is looking like it going to be a calm race with very little controversy at this point. No Confidence is running several strong campaigns without speaking a word. A couple of nominees have bowed out. Election Week starts Sunday, March 13th at High Noon Texas Time (GMT -6). So you only have about 2½ days if you have any more speeches to make for your Texas Cabinet and Texas Representative Council positions. We have some good ones going already. If you would like to make some Constitutional Amendments, Repeals to offer and or would like to propose new Articles, then you also only have until March 13, 2011 - Sunday! Or, if you just have questions on how this works, there is a link to the forum at the top of this page and a link to more information at the top of the page on the offsite forum! AGAINST both the SC and GA resolutions.

So uh, yeah. I just found out I was running for a government position. I think it's Texas Cabinet. Anyway, you should vote for me for whatever it is because I'm awesome. And humble too. In fact, I'm the most humble (humblest?) person I know!

Also FOR the GA resolution. The good peoples of the Red Dirts agree wtih the logic that if it makes things better we are for it.

Oh yeah. Walker, Texas Ranger. Hideously boring show. Now he writes for World Net Daily and whines about meaningless things. Not the best way to retire with grace, Chuck.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Permit Male Circumcision
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights Strength: Mild Proposed by: Knootoss

Description: The World Assembly,

AFFIRMING that male circumcision"...

<see WA for full text>

We have a new General Assembly Resolution up for a vote and this one is a "blocker". The author, like us, have seen too many attempts in the past to outlaw or ban male circumcision. It is a sad state of affairs when we actually have to specify a gender when referring to circumcision. We can thank the WA for knowing that nugget of knowledge. But, that is another Resolution. We are all for this. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response rate was way up again on the last GA vote [Institutional Psychiatry Act], which passed handily with 84.73% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 15 opinions expressed on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 3 FOR and 12 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans mostly against that one!

Please make your opinions known by 11:00pm Monday as voting ends at 11:00pm Texas Time on Tuesday the 15th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 3003 Votes AGAINST: 1430

***** State of The Region Address *****

March 13, 2011

Greetings Citizens of Texas!

It is our great pleasure to announce that the nomination process is over and so are the speeches for the 2011 First Quarter Texas Elections. This is going to be a good Election. There are a couple of newcomers to Cabinet-level positions who will be taking on No Confidence in uncontested races. There are plenty of really oldtimers in the Texas Representative Council race fighting for the ten open positions. In a new twist, all Cabinet races will face off against No Confidence uncontested or not. This represents "None of the Above". That means that pesky "No Confidence" will be having a field day giving all the candidates a run for their money. The almost-reopened Texas Department of Health has its opening hinging on the success of Maryginia's campaign. And, in a departure from the last several Elections, we only have a couple of Constitutional actions! There are 4 actions are awaiting your opinion including not one, but two selections for a Texas national Anthem.

The following is the slate the new Texas Government. This next week will be a time for each Texan, as of February 27, 2011, to vote on the offsite forum. Voting is open to both those who are registered and those who are not, however, if you are not registered, you will have to post an "Add Reply" to the message to register your vote. There are instructions pinned to the top of the forum (Please read them before voting!). The Polls will close Sunday March 20th at 11:59am (High Noon Texas Time). Shortly after that, we will announce the winners in the Texas 2011 First Quarter Elections!

We encourage Texans to participate in the voting process on the offsite forum here:
