What is the biggest prison in your country and the story behind it?

Dragontooth Creek Ukranium Prison, located in the city of Dragontooth Creek, Oakwood Landing was formerly known as "Ukranium Jail". It is the third oldest prison in Oakwood Landing, after Horynworth Prison and Glockmill Prison, all closed. The prison was officially opened by Protector Miguel in 1701 to detain criminals in the state, as well as those who opposed the Protector of Oakwood Landing government.

The prison is located on a 1.8-hectare plot of land in the city area and is surrounded by three roads, namely Wincher Road, Lampoon Street, and Colliermourn Rd. The original design of the prison was inspired by Protector Miguel, who visited prisons overseas to see the physical condition and design of the prisons there.

The prison was built on June 27, 1700, by a local contractor named Archibald Boyy and an architect known as Stuart Inkclaus at a cost of $120,000. The area of this prison is 1.8 hectares (400 x 400 feet). Its capacity is 200 offenders only. Originally, there were only two inmate accommodation buildings, two training workshops, a cooking stove, a toilet building, a hospital, and an administrative office. Over time and the need to accommodate the increased capacity of prisoners, several buildings have been built and renovated with ten housing blocks, five vocational workshops, a family visitation place, a counseling office, a welfare officer's office, a prayer altar, and other facilities that can accommodate 1,500 prisoners. .

The walled area, 160,000 square feet (1.8 hectares) with a wall height of 20 feet, was the same as the area in 1883. The area around the prison was exhausted, with the staff housing area consuming 3.8 hectares (9.4 acres). Therefore, every existing space in the prison area had to be used and the arrangement of the buildings was very compact. With that, the question arises as to whether the fire law is violated. The inmates have also housed seven to eight people in a cell room, although it was designed for only three inmates. However, it is miraculous that this prison can be maintained for 320 years.

That would be was, since the prison system is abolished in the country, replaced with rehabilitation centers :p

The largest prison in the country was the Labuan Island Prison, an old site infamous for some historical atrocities being committed there, though now it has been repurposed as a rehabilitation center; a controversial decision that is still being questioned about today. It was one of the oldest prisons in the country, being established in the late 17th century to deal with the natives of Cempakan Island who still fought against Palembang following the annexation of their island and nearby Labuan. Located on a hill outside of the city of Bandar Labuan, it was consisted of a 2 km² walled enclosure surrounded by moats and forest, with the main buildings located at the middle of the complex. It has farms, a hospital with a pharmacy, two sweat shops, two godowns, two large open fields, a mosque, some administrative buildings, and the infamous execution spots that are located at the back of the prison. The complex is also attached to the Barracks, a complex of the now-abandoned old military encampment on the island, famous for ghost hunting due to the rumours surrounding it (the Samuderan magical community has refused to deny nor confirm them).

As of now, the repurposed building maintains a capacity of 90 offenders, with the rest of the complex being turned into a museum and housing complex for the guards and carers. Based on the amount of rooms and the size of the complex, experts believed that it is originally built to accommodate more than 800 inmates at its peak, though documents pertaining the details of the prison complex are still being searched.

The Farrowdraft Detention Center or better known as Fardec has now been renamed the Farrowdraft Correctional Center, Farrowdraft, Lathamford on 9 May 2014 which was officiated by Senator Judson Hipolito. It is located about 8 km. from Alice Pond city and 3 km. from the town of Farrowdraft and has an area of 93.3 hectares. The institution was first opened in November 1973 to house people who had committed offenses under the Internal Detention for Security Act 1960.

On the 14th. November 1973, the transfer of 91 detainees from the Rixwell Creek Special Detention Center consisting of communist members was the date of the institution's commencement of operation. Although in the early stages of its opening it housed detainees who were mostly subversive elements but now it houses detainees who are political extremists, religious extremists, and even former communist members who have surrendered.

The Farrowdraft Detention Camp (Fardec), Farrowdraft, Lathamford, keeps 1,001 memories because that is where those who could threaten national security are stationed, according to the Internal Detention Security Act (IDOSA). However, in line with the repeal of the act, the camp, which had housed 2,770 detainees since its establishment on November 1, 1973, has changed its role and name and is now known as the Farrowdraft Correctional Center, Farrowdraft (FCC).

The first group of detainees in Fardec was 161 members of the Lathamian Communist Party (LPM), transferred from the Moral Rehabilitation Center in Moolberg, due to their involvement in the organization which could threaten national security. The last detainee was six religious militants which were released on 5 January.

During the period of operation since its establishment on November 1, 1973, a total of 1,702 communist members were arrested for offenses related to false documents (433), terrorism (193), human trafficking (159), religious extremism (115), printing counterfeit coins (66), issues religion and racism (40). Apart from that those involved in subversive elements (38), intelligence (16), reform activists (7) as well as a suppliers of nuclear components.

Now, the camp, which has changed its function, houses a maximum of 800 inmates of various offenses who fall into the pre-release category and have a prison sentence of fewer than two years. The 93.3 -hectare area has been turned into a detention center with the concept of an agro prison. The area covers an area of 14 hectares of detention area, prison area (16 hectares), nine-hole golf course (40 hectares), and staff housing, agriculture, and grazing land (23.3 hectares). In line with the self-sufficiency concept introduced by the Ministry of Internal Security, FCC will be used to produce food products such as vegetables and fish for the use of prisoners. The inmates housed here consist of those selected from several prisons and categorized as not at risk.

Agricultural products such as watermelon and mustard vegetables are supplied to prisons while leafy vegetables, mushrooms, and chives are supplied to traders and residents around Alice Pond and Farrowdraft Prison districts. The freshwater fish breeding center also supplies fish such as catfish and tilapia to eight prisons such as Rixwell Creek Prison at Kintonwich, and Moolberg Moral Rehabilitation Center at Darlington on a monthly basis. FCC also raises cattle and processes kenaf which is a government project in collaboration with the National Tobacco and Kenaf Board. So far, FCC is breeding catfish in 25 ponds on a site of 2.4 hectares and is planning to add more ponds to increase production. The 3.6-hectare vegetable crop will be continued as it is in high demand from local consumers. The results of agro activities in FCC can provide savings to the government apart from providing training programs to prisoners so that they can be independent after their release.

Mindaiku Chegaimeba (Eng: Mindaiku Prison), colloquially known was Tabetakai (Eng: White Claw), is Hofflands' largest prison situated on the island of Mindaiku, 50km south of the coastal state of Migishiyama in the Bay of Hofflands. Established in 1815, the prison was built and first used by the British to contain both British criminals and Hofish prisoners, the latter usually because of either serious crime or insurgence. It is both Hofflands' largest and oldest prison, having been rebuilt by the new government after the 1946 Independence Movement.

Mindaiku Prison was built and under the supervision of General Harry Wilson III, nicknamed "Satakai" (Third Claw). Because it also housed and contained British soldiers and prisoners, Mindaiku island is the only place in Hofflands with a church built, though this was later removed when the prison was rebuilt. The prison was destroyed and abandoned during the Second World War, though a secret compartment was discovered later on, containing copies of documents recording the information of those imprisoned, such as names, age, date of death and applied torture (if any). Similarly, a mass grave was also excavated. The new government rebuilt the prison, with one hundred new cells as well as higher security and supplies. To date, it is only used to contain highly serious criminals, such as murderers, awaiting the death sentence. Criminals of smaller crimes would be contained in either rehabilitation or detention centers, depending on the level of severity of the crime. It is highly facilitated and guarded, and remains a living reminder of some of the grim moments of Hofflands' colonial past.

A plethora of stories have emerged since, most of which haunting and unsettling, stemming from old torture methods to ghost sightings, though most of which are used to scare children into conformity and proper behavior; the saying "Tabetakai ko gashuru de saibatsu!" ("I'd rather be taken to Tabetakai!") is commonly used to show opposition to a proposed idea.

Before it was reopened, various Buddhist ceremonies and rituals were conducted on the premises, as to relieve the spirits subjected to the horrors of the British overseers to prevent any misfortune happening the future, especially those deemed martyrs and righteous. The bones retrieved during the mass grave excavation were cremated and stored in a Buddhist-Doist shrine constructed on-site. Another shrine was also constructed in the state of Migishiyama, facing south, as a memorial dedicated to the spirits of the prisoners who rotted hundreds of years ago 50km away. It is currently maintained by priests and locals who visit to give offerings.

The biggest prison in Pemecutan would be Sadha Island Correctional Institution. It is located on Sadha Island, a small island south of Sidakarya Peninsula and north of the mouth of Jematang Gulf. Historically, the island have been use as the place for exile prisoners during the reign of Karanganyar Kingdom. The most notable prisoner was Karanganyar Royal Family which was banished to the island following the successfull of Tamba House coup.

The institution was officially established in 1927 under the reign of Pemecutan Protectorate States. In the period of 1953-1969, the institution was closed by Giri Federation government citing the lack of fund to run it. It was reopened again in 1981 and continue to use as a place to imprisoned the top most criminal in the country. Jandibala Bankaya, the leader of Soracana Islands coup is being imprison in the island.

The richest person in Eraman is Tun Sengalang Petara. He is the former prime minister of Eraman and the younger brother of Maharaja Nila Petara, the king of Eraman. He is one of the only four billionaires in the country. He is the richest man in Eraman for 2 consecutive decades, getting to the top of the list way before he became the prime minister of Eraman.

Tun Sengalang Petara is the owner of the Petara Group, the biggest conglomerate in the country. Petara Group has its hands in every industry in the country. By every industry, it really means everything that you can think of. You need to take a closer look at the average life of an Eramanian to see how big the Petara Group is.

When an Eramanian wakes up in the morning, the first thing they'll do is have their breakfast. The favorite breakfast in Eraman is nasi lemak, the national dish.

Nasi lemak is made from rice. There are lots of brands of rice in Eraman. There are National, Jasmine, Champion, Wheel, Sunflower, Umbrella, and lots of other brands of rice. But when one looks at the label, all the rice being sold in Eraman is imported and distributed by Petarice. All the rice in the country is from Petarice and Petarice is a subsidiary of Petara Group, wholly owned by Tun Sengalang Petara.

Nasi lemak needs to be cooked before being served. To cook, you need a gas stove. And when you look at the brand of the gas, the label says Petara Gas, a subsidiary of Petara Group.

If for any reason you decide to not use the gas and cook with a microwave instead, microwave needs electricity and who do you buy electricity from in Eraman? No, not Petara Energy. That company is yet to exist.

Eramanian buys electricity from Tenaga Berhad, a state-owned and the only electric utility company in Eraman. In the past, Tenaga Berhad generates its own electricity. But in the era of Tun Maha Kutty as prime minister, Tenaga Berhad was forced to buy electricity from an independent power provider with an inflated price. And the biggest independent power provider in Eraman is Petara Power, a subsidiary of Petara Group.

Eramanian enjoys its nasi lemak with coffee for breakfast. You need water to make coffee. And Petara Water, a subsidiary of Petara Group, supplies water in Eraman.

After you add water to the coffee, you will need to add sugar. 2 companies monopolize sugar in Eraman. One of the companies is a state-owned company, Settler Berhad. The other one is Petara Sugar Refinery, a subsidiary of Petara Group.

After breakfast, Eramanian will leave home and takes out the trash to the trash bin on their lawn. Who collects the trash? Petara Flora, a subsidiary of Petara Group.

The main mode of transport in Eraman is a motorcycle. And when an Eramanian wants to buy the cheapest motorcycle in the market, they buy from Petara Motors, a subsidiary of Petara Group. After years of working and saving up and nagging from family members that a motorcycle is not safe, Eramanian will buy a car. The cheapest car in the Eraman market is from Petara Automobile, a subsidiary of Petara Group.

When Eramanian buys a car, they will need to buy insurance too. Where do you buy insurance from in Eraman? From Petara Insurance, a subsidiary of Petara Group. To buy a car, an Eramanian also has to make loans from a bank. And what is the number one bank in Eraman? Petara Banking, a subsidiary of Petara Group. When you drive a car in Eraman, you need to pay the road toll and the road toll has been privatized to Petara Works, a subsidiary of Petara Group.

If for some reason you don't want to use private transportation in Eraman, the new MRT has just been opened. The MRT project, a $13 billion project is the biggest project ever done by the government of Eraman. The main contract for the project was given to Petara Constructions, a subsidiary of Petara Group, albeit through an open tender process.

If you decided you want to use air or water transport, Petara Groups also owns the airports in Eraman through Petara Airports and the ports in Eraman through Petara Ports. The biggest airline in Eraman? No prize for a correct answer, Petara Air, a subsidiary of Petara Group. Everything is privatized to the Petara Group. Even the post office has been privatized to the Petara Group.

There are plenty more example but you should get how prominent Petara Group is in Eraman by now.

Melayu Archipelago wrote:This week’s Weekly National Information question is:

What type of government in Sharktail?
I dont know much how to put it into full complete sentence. In Sharktail we have a royal. However their power is not absolute. We have a government lead by Prime minister. So our government type in constitutional monarchy.

How does it work?
Every 5 year or we call it one term, the national election will be held to chose the MB for 105 seat in parliament. The party or alliance who mke 53 majority seat won the election.

The Hundredstar government was set up base on King Xavier II's orders, his majesty has the absolute power to hire and fire the prime minister. The appointed minister will set up his/ her cabinets and government machinery including deputy PM. Most of the case, the government last between fives to six terms before king will choose another PM.

Recently, King Xavier II flexes his muscles when asking former PM, Dr. Baygents to step down from His Majesty's government, and replacing him with former Minister of Education, Youth & Science, and Hundredstar 1st women to be a PM.

King also order his trusted advisor to be DPM, public saw the era that palace dominated public government has started. One more thing, former director of the National Security Authority, a prime agency who crackdown any anti-monarchy movement has been promoted to be new Deputy Minister of Internal Safety, a dark day for the anti-monarchy movement.

Melayu Archipelago wrote:This week’s Weekly National Information question is:

What is the type of government in your country and how is it working?

Pemecutan is a federal parliamentary constitutional elective monarchy. It is a federal government system with a touch of monarchy.

The country is established after the merger of Giri Federation and Kingdom of Kanginan. All of them are monarchy. The elective monarchy system is adopted from Giri Federation practice which in reality is rotated among the monarch of its constituent states. In the present times, it is rotated among 6 royals. These are the Head of State of Pemecutan, entitled Ratu Hawir Bhuja, or can be translated as King of the Kings. The rule of Head of State is mostly ceremonial without any political power at all. It can only give advice towards the government and to be consult. But the Head of State is also Chief of Commander of Pemecutan Armed Forces. They also have the power to dissolve parliament in term of new election time and to elect the selected Prime Minister.

The day-by-day government duty is done by Prime Minister or Patih Agung in Pemecutan. He/She is usually the leader of the political party with the most confidence in the Parliament. They are elected by Head of State after confirmation of Parliament confidence to the Head of State. The Patih Agung duty is help by its cabinet ministers. The numbers are varied but the constitution stated it can't be more than 15 departments/ministries.

The state government have autonomy from the central government in mostly any fields. Only a few that is taken care by the central government such as defense, foreign relation, international trades and immigration. In some fields, both central and state government have a shared authority such as in health care and education.

Because all of the states are monarchy itself than all of it is headed by a monarch as their Head of State. They are entitled as King or Raja. Similar like in the central government, the King doesn't have much power to govern the state. It is Central Minister that run the day-by-day government of each state which locally named Patih Madya. He/She is help by their own state ministers.

Because of it is a parliamentary system then the government have the obligation to give accountability to the parliament for every year of their government. If the parliament lost confidence over the government then an election will occur. The parliament will give a report towards Ratu Hawir Bhuja and suggested to run an election. If the Head of State agree then they will proceed with dissolving the parliament and the government. Although this is rarely occur. In the normal time, the general election is held once every 4 years.

The Parliament of Pemecutan is bicameral. The Upper House is call Nagari Sabha or State House and the Lower House is call Krama Sabha or People House. Combine, it is call Paruman Agung or Grand Council. The Nagari Sabha is a 31-members parliament house consists of nobles. All of the senators are non-partisan. It is elected directly by Ratu Hawir Bhuja with the advice and consultation with the state's monarchs. The Krama Sabha is a 125-members parliament house which is elected in proportional system based on each states population. Tambangan holds the largest MP with 38 and Batubulan is the smallest with 3 MPs. The parliament have the power to create bills and laws which mostly done in the lower house. The upper house power is more into check and balance of government duties and officials. The upper house can also reject a bill that being passed by the lower house if they deemed unsuitable, inappropriate or need adjustment, except for budget bills.

The judicative is more independent. Pemecutan Council of Prosecutors and Lawyers is the one who run the judicative system in the country. They have the authority to elect all the attorney position in all the states of the country. For the Attorney General position however, they have to consult with the Head of State and the Nagari Sabha for approval. The court system in the country is divided into 3 tiers. The highest is the Supreme Court (Mahkamah Agung) which is positioned in the capital city. The second tier or the First Court of Appeal is The State Court (Pengadilan Negeri) which is positioned in each State's capital, exception is for the territories in which both federal cities are merge into 1 State Court. The lowest court is Municipal Court (Pengadilan Wilayah) which is positioned in each municipalities. The system is rather different in Soracana Islands as the new state is still in adjustment from the rest of Pemecutan.
