Health care workers wearing protective suits

GIV-1 virus - How you can protect yourself

As the GIV-1 pandemic rages worldwide, health commissions scramble to prevent the disease from getting worse. Here at TBN, we take the precautions to prevent you from getting this deadly and infectious virus

With the GIV-1 virus now infecting 110 million and taking the lives of over 9.7 million worldwide, preventing yourself from contrating the deadly disease remains a priority for health care workers, commissions and world governments. According to the WHA, at least 1 in 10 of people on the planet will contract the disease, leaving many to question: How would I protect myself? Note, that this article is not an explicit guide of all of the precautions to take, but a quick overview on how avoid this infectious and deadly virus...

1.) Avoid areas where GIV-1 is active

According to the WHA, NHA and CDC estimates, the virus has so far spreaded to 4 continents, that being Fusea, Usonea, Osea and Anea. If you reside in the following areas, it is highly likely that the disease has spreaded there. Unfortunately, with an infection rate of 70% - 80% contracting the disease could happen. This step requires precise measures to avoid the virus. Certain countries have terminated some or all travel to a country that is highly affected. For continents that have massive regions of cases, take measures to not travel to those areas. For regions that have only small pockets of infected, such as Anea, take a high level of caution.

00 High Caution (Do not travel)
00 Normal Caution (Do not travel to certain areas)
00 Low Caution (Reconsider Travelling)

2.) Know how the disease spreads

GIV-1 is extremely contagious. With and R0 of 6, getting infected is easy. But knowing how to avoid transmission will greatly decrease the possibility of contrating it. GIV-1 spreads by:

-Bodily Fluids (saliva, blood, semen, mucus)
-Coughing
-Sweat
-Sneezing
-Touching

It is easy for the virus to transmit from one person to another. Touching anyone, even if they do not have the virus could in fact spread the disease. If anyone is shown to be coughing or sneezing, avoid them at all times. Another way of avoiding the spread of GIV-1 is not having sexual intercourse with an infected person. Fluids like semen will travel its way into the body.

3.) Avoid eating or touching apes

Researchers have concluded that the virus did originate from the cross-species trasnmission from primates, more specifically Fusean apes. Eating or touching these creatures will greatly spread towards your body as they do carry the virus. If you have encounter any of these animals contact your local WHA center.

4.) Familiarize yourself with GIV-1 symptoms

Symptoms of GIV-1 can be even frightening. The extremely lethal virus could kill in matter of days, if untreated. While symptoms may vary, only general symptoms are found. It could range from coughing to immediate death. Common symptoms include:

-Areas of pain in the abdomen, chest, joints, or muscles
-Fatigue, fever, loss of appetite and sweating
-Severe coughing
-Severe headache
-Pneumonia
-Unintentional weight loss
-Massive internal bleeding

5.) Wear protective clothing when in public

While it is recommended that you avoid areas of infection entirely, the disease may still spread in many areas. Wearing protective clothing such as surgical masks, chemical gas masks or suits are effective in containing the disease. The WHA highly recommends wearing hazmat suits in highly affected areas.

-The WHA recommended that hospital workers use disposable masks, gloves, goggles, and gowns, to be worn at all times around infected patients.

-After a thousands of cases of GIV-1 among healthcare workers in Toshavo, however, the WHA recommends a Level 4 suit with a protective hood and taped seams for workers around GIV-1 patients.
