History

On January 25th 1914 ,The president of the republic of China , Yuan Shikai held a meeting with ambassadors from the German , French , British, and Dutch Empires , in order to discuss the reestablishment of the Chinese Empire under Yuan Shikai .

1914 : Yuan Shikai arranges a secret meeting with the foreign ministers of The Dutch , German , British , and French empires during which Yuan Shikia agrees to a free trade agreement with the four nations , to forgo any claims on chinese territory belonging to the four nations , and to never join the side of their enemies in any war , inexchange for help fighting the Republic of China .
1915 : Start of the Chinese Civil war Between the Empire of China under Yuan Shikai (supported by The Netherlands , Germany , France , and England) and the republic of China under the koumintan (supported by Russia , America , and Japan)
1917 : Signing of the treaty of Seoul under which China was split into an empire in Southern China and a republic in the rest of China ,formal reestablishment of the empire of china under the Hongxian Dynasty by Yuan Shikai , End of the Chinese civil war in Southern China .

The Empire of China during the interbellum
With the signing of the Treaty of Soeul came an end to two years of war , and the end to several decades of unrest as The Empire of China and The Republic of China quietly exchanged prisoners of war and political prisoners .
The signing of the Treaty of Hong Kong garanteed the military and economic support of The Empire of China by Germany , France , The Netherlands , and Britain ,while also preventing the taxation of British , French , German , and Dutch in The Empire of China , and Products from The Empire of China in Britain , Germany , France , and The Netherlands .

Under Yuan Shikai (1918-1930) trade with Britiain , France , The Netherlands , and Germany flourished , changing The Empire from an impoverished Agricultural nation into an Industrial powerhouse with a relatively large middle class

While relationships with the British Empire ,the French Empire, the Dutch Empire , Germany , Belgium , Austria , Turkey , and (interrestigly enough) Brazile and Greece were excelent , relationships with The USA , Russia , and Japan were horrible with the USA hating the Empire of China to such an extent that the US goverment eacted the acts of Canton which banned all products made in The empire of China , Banned migration to and from The Empire of China , made it illigal to produce any media which was sympathetic to the Empire of China , and Made it illigal to refer to The empire of China as China in any way shape or form.

The most popular entertainment during this period consisted of Plays , novels set in the Qing dynasty (called manchurian tales) ,serials set in the British , French , Dutch , and German Empires (called foreign tales) , and radio soaps , with movies only becoming affordable to the general public after the Movie act (1931) lowered ticket prices

As the people of The Empire of China enjoyed peace and prosperity , the people of The Republic of China suffered from the civil war being fought between the various factions within their nation which caused many to flee to The Empire of Hanchu , Korea , The British Empire , and the USA

1918 : The republic of China descends into civil war , start of the northern Chinese civil war. Germany , France , The Netherlands , Britain and The Empire of China , sign the Hong Kong treaty under which The Empire of China agrees to not tax any German , French , Dutch , and British products , while the Netherlands , Germany , France , and Britain promise to help the Empire of China when its at war .
1918-1930 : Reign of Yuan Shikai during which time the empire modernised at a rapid rate thanks to a series of goverment inniatives and reforms , and thanks to foreign investments
1930 : Fearing that his death might be approaching Emperor Yuan Shikai interviews each of the possible succesors , he ultimately chooses his 18 year old grandson Chia-Liu Yuan , and dies shortly afterwards of a heart attack . Chia-Lu Yuan is Declared Emperor.

The Sino-Japanese war

The establishment of Machukuo by the Japanese Empire led to increased tensions between The Empire of China and the Japanese Empire due to Manchukuo being led by Emperor Puyi of Qing , which the emperor of The Empire of China saw as a way of underming the legitemacy of the Hongxian Dynasty as the Hongxian Dynasty was seen as a succesor to the Qing Dynasty , these tensions were eased somewhat after Emperor Puyi stated in a speech that his dynasty was Northern Qing of Manchukuo not Qing of China .

Between the establishment of Manchukuo and The Empire of China joining the Second United front ,the empire of China experienced the effects of The Great Depression .

The succefull invasion of Wenchow by The Japanese Empire (spring 1937) led to The Empire of China to join the Second United Front in the autumn of 1937 . Although the Second United Front was supposed to be an Alliance of the various factions and nations in China , it quickly became clear that The Second United front was little more than a means for Chang Kai-Chek to attempt to reconquer China by sending the leaders of the various factions to die fighting the japanese in hopeless battles or to be killed by "Japanese" assassins , and for various none chinese powers to determine the future of China by funding the various factions with The Republicans ( USA , Turkey ,various pro democracy groups, and surprisingly enough Italy) The Communists (The Soviet Union , Mongolia ,various communist groups ) and The Empire of China (Germany , France , Britain, The Netherlands , and various pro impirial groups) being the most powerfull and well funded ones.

Between 1937 and 1940 The Second United Front fought a series of battles that brought the Japanese expansion to a grinding halt in part thanks to German , American, soviet , and British weapons , and French and italian Military advisors . Despite the succeses the Second United Front remained deeply divided between the Communists , Impirials ,Republicans , and the various warlords .

1935: Operation Blue Bell is uncovered , The empire of China bans all American products .The japanese empire invades the republic of China ,start of the Sino-japanese war between the republic of China and the Japanese empire
1937 : Japan invades the Empire of China , The empire joins the Second United Front Formed by the KMT and the CPC of the Republic of China ,Start of the Second Sino-Japanese. Germany , Britain , and France start supplying the Empire of China with weapons needed to defend its borders , while the Dutch and Italian Empire provide economic support.
1940 : Start of World War 2 . Hoping to weaken the allies by depriving them of an ally Germany joins the Japanese side in the second Sino-Japanese war .
1941 : Japan attacks the USA , The USA joins the Allies , The USA starts supporting the Republic of China but not The Empire of China which angers Britain leading to a brief standoff between the two powers which is resolved by the USA agreeing to send aid to The Empire of China .
1945 : End of the Second Sino-japanese war. The Republic of China helps found the UN .

The Second Chinese Civil war

The Second Civil War can be roughly divided into three stages The First stage which was a three way war between The Republic of China , The Empire of China , and The Peoples Republic of China during which The Republic of China was reduced to Taiwan , The Empire of China was pushed south , and The Peoples Republic of China declared its independence

1946-50 : The First stage of Second Chinese Civil War starts after the KMT and the CPC turn on eachother while at the same time attempting to reconquer the Weakened Empire of China . Attempts to join the UN by the Empire of China are vetoed by the Soviet Union , The republic of China , and the USA . The Republic of China is reduced to Taiwan. The People's Republic of China conquers some territory of the Empire China . The support from the colonial powers given to The Empire of China and the support of the Communists to the Peoples Republic of China caused many to call this period The Last Great Game
1950-1953 : Korean War , The Second Stage of the Second Chinese Civil war . Unable to fight a war on two front the Peoples Republic of China loses territory to The Empire of China .Propogana posters in the PRC compare repeatedly The Empire of China to the states of Han and Chu ,and The PRC to Qin . The Empire of China and The Republic of China sign a peace treaty officially ending the war between them .
1953-1955 : Final Stage of the Second Chinese Civil War . The Republic of China and the USA aide The Empire of China during the last stage of the war . The capture of Shanghai by The Empire of China leads the signing of an armistice between the Peoples republic and the Empire of China. To celebrate the end of the war cartoonists draw cartoons of the victory , the most famous of these shows a happy couple with the words Han and Chu on them kicking a communist with the word Qin on him out of a house with the words The Empire of China written on it , the cartoon would lead to some radio hosts in the east to jokingly call The Empire of China The Han-Chu state .

The Empire of China/Hanchu during the second interbellum

Thanks to aid from the USA , The economy of The Empire of China(Hanchu) recovered somewhat following the Civil War , though it would take untill 1986 for it to recover completely . During the second interbellum the foreign policies of The Empire of China(Hanchu) shifted from being focused on the French ,German , Dutch , and British empires , to ones focused on the rising economic powers of The USA , Japan , The Republic of China (Taiwan) , and Western Europe as a whole . Fashion during this period would remained very much like it had been during the civil war with only occasional changes in fabric and style untill Bewitched (1964-1972) debuted on Emperial TV 8 in 1966 , and its chinese rip off My Magical Wife (1968-1973) , which detailed the life of Samantha's Chinese Cousin Lín Shu and her husband Lín Li , debuted on Tv Starlight in 1968 introduced numerous western fashion styles , songs , and foods , to a nation with a growing middle class .

1961 : John Fitzgerald Kennedy gives his famous speech in Changsha where he calls the Empire of China ,Hanchu after one of his translators forgot to mention that its a joke name . The term Hanchu as a way of calling the Empire of China quickly gains popularity among western leaders , reporters , and citizens

The Communist Wars

The Communist Wars period is the period in which The Empire of China (hanchu) took an active in the fight against communism
Most japanese Cultural products were banned during this period , however the heavily anti war sci fi anime Mobile Suit Gundam struck a cord with the emperor who noted the similarities between Kingdom of Zeon and the Japanese Empire during ww2 and was allowed to be shown in 1981 on Emperial TV 1 .

1970 : Laos falls to the communists , The Empire of China (Hanchu) joins the Vietnam war
1971: The Peoples Republic of China withdraws its application to join the UN after The Empire of China threatens to blockade its ports if its application was accepted . The Republic of China changes the One China policy into the Two Chinas policy officially acknowleging The Empire of China(Hanchu) as the second China.
1972: The Empire of China(Hanchu) officially joins the United Nations with the full endorsement of France , The Republic of China , Britain , and The United States of America.
1975 : End of the Vietnam war . North Vietnam , parts of Laos , and communist heavy parts of Southern Vietnam are annexed By The Empire of China (Hanchu) , Laos and Vietnam are freed from the communists .
1977: Creation of the Third United Front . The Chinese seat on the security council is shared by The Empire of China and The Republic of China under the name Third United Front of China.
1978 : Start of the Tibetan War between the Dalai Lhama (supported by The Empire of China and the Republic of India) , and the Revolutionary party of Tibet (supported by the Peoples Republic of China , and the Soviet Union)
1980 : To help ease the tensions between the vietnamese laotian and chinese ethnicities a decision is made to oficially change the name of the empire to something more neutral . The name democratically chosen by the majority of all provinces was Hanchu . The Empire of China Officially Changes its name to the Empire of Hanchu . Start of the Metal Kaizer Series .
1982 : End of The Tibetan war
1984 : The Empire of Hanchu, The Republic of China . and the republic of India invade Burma in order to free it from the communists starting the Burmese war .
1985 : End of the Burmese war , one of the Shan States is annexed , Burma is turned into the kingdom of Burma.
