Class Division

Rusozak is divided by state-mandated social classes. Children are born into the class of their parents. If the parents are of different class, the parents can choose the class of choice. An adult citizen can petition a class change, and must provide evidence they are better suited for the class. They are as follows:

(names of classes don't necessarily correspond with international meaning)

---Upper classes---

Monarch- King of the nation.

Royal Family- The Polenshiv dynasty. Has exclusive command of the armed forces, the state church, and control of the federal government

Nobility- Mostly old families that supported the Polenshivs in the war of liberation. Have regional authority over economic and social laws, as well as enforcement

Clergy- Religious leaders, answer only to the royal family

Bourgeois- Economic elite.

---Lower classes---

Politicians- Non-nobility that act as the voice and hand of the lower class in government. A lower class member is lifted to this class automatically if they are elected to government, and leave t if they lose their seat.

Enforcement- Civil law enforcement

Proletariat- Broadest spectrum, overwhelming majority of population. Consists of every other role in society not covered by the other classes.

--Military--

2 years service is compulsory for lower class males, who can choose any time between 18 and 25 to enlist. Officers are promoted by merit, with over 50% of officers having been promoted from an enlisted rank. Prior civilian class status holds no weight in the armed forces.
