Ministry of Security


Overview

The Ministry of Security is the supreme body tasked with coordinating and commanding all Mallaskan military and security elements, ranging from branches of the military, to the National Police, and to the National Intelligence Service. The Ministry of Security is under the command of the Minister of Security, whom answers to the orders of the Premier, and by the will of the National Assembly.

The Ministry of Security was formed in 1926, converted from the original Office of War by the Security Act of 1925. The Ministry of Security had upgraded the power and size of the nation's armed forces and was also charged with now providing law enforcement services to the nation, which it had provided by unifying the Provincial Constabularies and creating the National Police in lieu.


Branches

The Ministry of Security maintains the entirety of Mallaskan security elements, and as a result, has many branches for the purpose of efficiently managing them.

Office of the Armed Forces

Office of Security and Enforcement

  • National Intelligence Service - Gathers and distributes intelligence as well as conducting counter-intelligence operations

  • Cyber Security Administration - Maintains integrity of the internet and other information technology

  • National Police - Law Enforcement

  • Department of Internal Security - Investigates and adjudicates acts of treason, espionage, and misconduct within the Ministry of Security

  • Bureau of Energy Security - Upholds energy safety and environmental standards and protects the national power grid

  • Bureau of Substance Safety - Upholds prescription/recreational drug and alcohol safety standards and sales

Office of Administration

  • Security Administration - Highest office of the Ministry, in which the Minister of Defense creates and implements varying directives.

  • Defense Treasury Council - Controls monetary allocations to all departments of the Ministry of Security


Special Enforcement Division (OSI)

The Special Enforcement Division, or the Отдел Специальный Исполнение (Otdel Spetsial'nyy Ispolneniye), is the elite arm of the Ministry of Security with a number of agencies aimed at conducting counter-terrorist activities, anti-human trafficking operations, countering organized crime, and also with branches serving as general special forces for clandestine military use. The OSI is considered the most elite, and most brutal agency within Mallaska renowned for its unrelenting tactics and deadly efficiency. In addition to its counter-crime tasks, the OSI is also tasked with conducting espionage and counter-espionage operations on behalf of the National Intelligence Service.

The Joint Special Forces Group (Совместное Спецназ Группа, or the SSG), is the main special forces unit of the OSI serving as an elite general-purpose special force operating in a wide assortment of assignments as necessary including highly-dangerous military operations, with its members having the highest pedigree of training. The SSG is also referred to as the OSI Spetsnaz.

In addition to the SSG, the OSI also is tasked with conducting counter-espionage operations within Mallaska in coordination with the National Intelligence Service. The OSI has full authorization granted by the National Assembly and Prime Minister to conduct any operation within or outside Mallaskan borders "With impunity and without mercy for the sake of national security.", effectively giving the OSI full power to do what is within necessity for completing its task.
