Overview of The United Batavian States History

United batavian states (the UBS) were founded after The Republic of the Seven United Netherlands invaded France and the other Low Countries, the territories now known as the provinces of Belgium and Luxembourg in 1612. Shortly after, the colonies of the newly incorporated territories were claimed as part of the empire of The United Batavian States.
Being a very strong nation after the conquest, The UBS drove the Spaniards back to their homeland, leaving Spain itself ruined.

In the years after, England felt itself being threatened by the power of the UBS and declared war on them several times between 1652 and 1784. The Anglo-Batavian Wars were primarily naval wars, the latter three won by the UBS.
In the 17th century the United Batavian States expanded their reign by colonizing the East Indies and a part of North America, gaining the colonies of the New batavian americas and the Batavian east indies, which meant the Batavian Empire was born.
In the year 1672, the Batavian Empire entered in an alliance with Unio kalmar and it's colony, creating a new world region called the United Nations of the North.

During 1914 till 1918, the First World War, The United Batavian States were part of the Triple Entente and fought against the Central Powers. A large part of the nation was destroyed, but the UBS won the war with the help of their allies and colonies.
In the Second World War Nazi Germany occupied most of the United Batavian States. The remaining armed forces of the UBS took part in the invasion of Normandy, thus liberating the European continent together with their allies and help of the colonies. During and after the cold war the Batavian Empire expanded their army.

After that the Batavian Empire participated in some independence wars and the war against terrorism.

In the second half of 2014 the alliance with Unio Kalmar came to an end. The region United Nations of the North ceased to excist as a result of this.

After a quiet period, the Batavian Empire allied again with Unio Kalmar in early 2017 and created the region Interstate together.

In 2020 the Batavian Empire fell apart. The Batavian East Indies and New Batavian Americas became independent nations. The United Batavian States created a new region together with Mercia Regnum; The Celtic Union of Celticae.
